For me...a lot of time lost was due to the car going into the corner nearly side way. So I tried to brake a bit early and not as hard (and keep a tiny little bit of throttle while braking)...seemed to keep the over rotation in check reasonably well.
Yes exactly, I have had also the same "hard braking" issue while this combo car-circuit requires a smooth driving.

Also for the three fast curves Hawthorns, Westfield and Sheene Curve should be drive as one curve. Braking earlier and not too hard is an excellent advice for this TT!

@Lomic I don't think it was asked before...but what view do you use? hood cam? bumper cam? chase cam?
And don't forget what @sdi_03 allready mentioned in his previous post, be gentle with the release of the brakes that unsettles the car quite bad, so lifting gently and release braking gently will surprisingly rotate the car fairly good.
Plus you can get away with a lot of coasting this car until you can throttle out with the AWD system. :)

Funny how you have "off-days". Felt fine today but could not for the life of me get less than 2 minutes at the Glenn. Everything looked fine and I thought I was doing OK, trying to clip that last bit off to get under 1:58, but the laps would just not give the times. We all have off-days where we know we're making mistakes, but days like today are different.... everything looks fine - except the time! 🤣

Recently it feels like the off-days outnumber the good ones. I set a TT time early and then I can't get anywhere near it again for 2 weeks.

This may be a not great question and if so I apologize. I have seen a few people post about following the ghost of a faster driver. Curious how to do that... I need about a second and I know I'm faster chasing than time trialing. I would love to chase a hot lap car. Am I missing something in my ghost settings? I can't seem to find any sort of option to load another player's ghost.

You can load the ghost of a faster player at the ranking board. There is a "video icon" next to their time if replay is available. Just hit X on their name and you will see the option. Also set your ghost setting to load the ghost...in your setting before you start driving.

If you go to Showcase you can search for shared replays. You can filter it down to the current TT. It shows the laptime so find one around your target, save/add it to your collection (which also saves the ghost), then when you go back to the online TT you should able to load any saved ghosts.

I thought maybe that was it but couldn't get it to go yesterday. Probably mashed a button wrong as that seems typical of my experience lately. 😂😂😂

I appreciate the reply. 🍻

LOL opposite of the question I had last week! I knew how to load the ghosts, just didn't know how to view the replays of the tops laps

Another 20 laps at WG with some decent improvement. Optimals look good for a 1:54 lap if I can nail T1 more consistently.

This has translated into a 0.3 second improvement on my Free Practice time for the Manufacturer race, but still need about 0.5 seconds to best my rival in that series.

I'm actually ending my three month long sim racing career (for now).

My wife got a reserve spot from a school she's been trying to get in, so we're moving to a new city in a month.
I've already put my rig on sale to finance a part of the move.
Not very motivated to continue with a controller, if you catch my drift.

Good luck everyone and keep being awesome
Take care and see you soon, I really hope :)

Thanks ! You guys are pushing me and it is a blast 😁

Yes 😓I already struggle to do all the driving with 4 fingers : left index on L2 for brakes, right finger on R2 for accelerator, left thumb on the left stick for steering, and right thumb to get a good grip of the dualsense.

Some use square and cross buttons with right thumb to shift which is the closer to how I am currently using the controller, but my brain will need a lot of practice to go from AT to MT.

L1 and R1 feel more natural to go MT but my brain will absolutely make a mess if I try to use middle fingers for gas/brake and indexes for gears.

I do no doubt the interest to go MT, but it will require a lot of work 😅
There is only one proper use for middle fingers while driving... ;)

Man...your sector 2 time is really killing you. Are you losing time at the bus stop and the long right hander to the ghost?
Sometimes I am close to the ghost and I gain after the left hander and before the climb to the heel. But not each time. Did not find the way to take the bus stop consistently.
I would love to chase a hot lap car.
As Fezzik said, it is all in showcase, and for once they put a handy option to filter on current TT. No search option for certain lap time but it is better than no filter.
when you go back to the online TT you should able to load any saved ghosts.
From showcase you need to add replay to your collection, then inside the TT you can load one of you ghosts or choose the tab "Collection" to display ghosts you saved from the showcase

🤣 I use them a lot at the end of WOD spin...

Try this...maybe it will help. Start braking at the 300 board but instead full braking, ride the brakes (50% ? braking, adjust as needed) into the bus stop and let go after you passed the first bump. The car should be fairly stable to power out the rest of the bus stop...if needed, touch the brake slightly before the 2nd bump.

Getting ever so close to reaching the 53's with a pickup of .032 from before. And almost within that magical 1% of the top alien. If I could only put one lap together where I nail all the sectors, or nearly nail them at least. Every fast lap there is one corner I just don't quite get right. Two more days to try to get that sub 54.

I found myself with a bit of time to try some different cars at Watkins Glen inspired by @Evilmuffin just to see how different the lists might look. Each of these is based on strictly 5 laps max. Initial results are;

Top of the tree (54.0) - Veyron
Next rung (54.2-54.5) - 650s, Jag, NSX, Viper, Silvia
The middle (54.6-54.8) - 4C, Vantage, Citroen GT, 458, Mustang, G70
Below average (54.9-55.2) - 155, TT, SLS, Corvette
Stinkers (55.5+) - M4

If I get time tonight I will probably try and finish the list, but fascinating to see how different some cars can be in different sets of hands.

Finally decided to give these new tts a go.
Four laps in the Alfa155 at watkins, 1:56,8. Very understeery. Changed to the supra, another four laps and down to 1:55.6. Feels like a safe gold, so on to the other one.

First lap in brands, touch the brakes in t1, car turns sideways and spins in to the gravel. Try again and the same thing happens. Gave this about 5mins, managed to get through t1 once without spinning. Very similar to the awful daytona-nsx -combo. Doubt I’ll be doing this again..

Hej,
I want to encourage other long-time readers to register as a member of this marvellous community. At least If you're ready to get more involved in GT7... In TT I usually was about rank 30.000 and within weeks as a member I'm actually among the 10.000 fastest people of this (gt) planet! Now I return to a track even with a gold time to climb in my friends list (thank you, guys! But please stop getting even faster...). As a conclusion I can state that I have more fun and motivation and in the end better results in GT7 than before.

Today arrives the next major update for ACC but I'm afraid I will instead return to the BH TT... Have a nice day everyone.

I takes some time to adapt to the sliding roadcars but it's very descent when you get the hang of it, personally i had a blast on the NSX at daytona, sure at first some tt's don't suit you but 5 minutes? that's quick to leave it at that... ;) , at first i was sceptical about this one in the first stint.... ( read 30-ish laps ) but turns out to be a lot of fun for me ..........so come on, get back on the sadle and give it your all. :)💪👍
