This thread moves fast, so much to catch up on when I am too busy at work.

For the BBR final results - I was unable to get that 31 second lap, but I did get pretty close and my optimals suggested it was possible, 0:31.95x or so. It was fun but grew tedious toward the end not being able to make progress. 345th place is my best performance in these TT's so far, 11th place and quickest American on our leaderboard (special thanks again to @half_sourly) feels special.

At ALM - The time I set last week on the first day fell down to Silver, unfortunately I didn't set my new time early enough to get into the halfway community leaderboard. But I'm probably not going to put too much time here, just enough to get gold, so far the 911 RSR is sufficient. Should the time drop much more, I may have to try out the Supra.

At Spa - I put in a few laps to feel things out. Like others have said, the wet track doesn't feel too intrusive. Eau Rouge to Raidillon is very slippery on the normal race line, though. I can probably make up enough time in the first sector to get into a Gold time, provided the WR doesn't change too dramatically.

Ok guys, we stop kidding now, I must enter the "0:51 Lake Maggiore" club as soon as possible :ill: My current PB is gold at 0:52.012 but very unsecure if aliens invade the leaderboard on the last day.

Several laps this morning with a best at 0:52.080 with Miss Godzilla GT-R. I know, the Supra and the RSR are probably much better/faster but I feel much more comfortable with the Nissan. For the record, I play with DualSense in automatic mode with TC1.
All I need is to gain 0:050 on my current record. Sounds few but it's huge as I wonder how I did it such time

I've watched many videos, follow many ghosts but I'm still over 0:52 and I need to understand where am I losing time / where must I improve my time.
  • sector 1: 17:427
  • sector 2: 34.653

Thanks in advance :)

I'm hoping that the top drivers have moved on to Spa already and won't bother trying to better their Lago Maggiore times...

Although the top time has not changed for a few days, I've dropped down the order quite a bit - from being around top 8% to now being exactly 11.00%... so in the top 1/9th

I'll not be surprised if my time (51.949) is not enough for a gold, but it would be magic if it holds until next week.

Holy Guacamole and congrats because 0:51.949 is a fantastic score and I'm sure your yellow medal should hold till the end !! I really hope so because since few days, I fight to join the very select "0:51" club :)

This site on mobile is sooo frustrating!!! The constant reloading of the page and losing your post is infuriating!!! What the hell is the point of saving your draft if it disappears????
Whatever I wrote a bunch but no time to redo.
Made big improvement of 1.173 and def 0.2-0.5 tenths to get. In the video below you can see I was 0.348 slower in S1 on my PB lap!

If you need a ghost to chase, I just did a lap with godzilla in automatic mode. Just look up gtrautomatic in showcase.

I think you can definitely improve the first sector. I managed a 17.1-ish, but my second sector was probably slower than yours (messed up the hairpin 🤣).

Yeah, I've already watched your very useful video (thanks so much) and stop lapping to post this greatful message here :)
I'll chase your ghost!!

There's nothing wrong with being at the bottom of the board...... as @tmtk pointed out, somebody has to do it.

Sad Shame GIF

I don't mind being slow. It gives me something to work towards.. Hopefully the DD Pro gets here soon because while everyone says they won't make you faster, I truly believe I'll have much better control and will be able to consistently get the time I leave on the table. My optimum is usually between a quarter and a half (!) Second faster than my actual. Either way it'll prob be way more fun with the wheel. That's a lotta cash for it not to be. 😂😂😂

Great lap and cool that's with AT, yet too smooth with steering input (turns 1-3 buttery smooth).
It's very hard to replicate this on controller.
Gotta check this car, Supra looses rear grip too readily under my inputs.

@Evilmuffin

I did another session with Godzilla trying to follow your path and your advice as much as possible.
And clearly, as you've mentionned earlier, my weak point is the first sector where I'm usually in 17.5xx
I scored a 0:52.102 mainly because my 1st sector was 17:378 but sadly, my second sector was awful on that stint.
On this session, my optimal lap was 0:51.903.
So yes it's cleary doable with a much better 1st sector in addition to a decend 2nd sector.

And mostly: thank you for your video, your advices and your time!
This community is really 😍

Can't say I'm enjoying the Spa TT. What I can't get my head around are people here saying the wet track does not affect it much but for me I'm just all over the place. I've seen videos taking Eau Rouge to Raidillon at 140 mph yet the best I can do is around 120 otherwise I just slide out or get a penalty.

I find it very slippery. Currently I struggled to get this into Bronze. Silver is currently just a dream.. Am I just driving too slow for the conditions and so losing my grip?

Spa. Well did 10 laps Thursday, not really a fan of this one. 2:40.2.
Should hold for gold. Maybe try again next week. If I have time and nothing better to do. 😄

Imagine, if we would have a TT with RSS tyres. No we wont, because pd loves to slip and slide 😂😂😂😂

I feel less lonely when I read your message about Spa :guilty:
I love this circuit (IG and IRL), I've golded the CE, I always got the CRB here, etc. but for now, I only have a poor bronze... 2:50.xxx

You're probably driving too quickly! In my experience you slip and slide if you're too taking too much speed into a corner or too trigger happy on the throttle. Smooth really is faster for this TT.

The other thing I've found helpful is to drive the car like it's a Gr. 3 car, those braking points appear to work well for the conditions.

Got a video of the lap that we can look at? The first 2 corners is all about putting only the right 2 wheels outside of the curb...this allows you to power out a lot earlier.

I may be saying something enormously wrong but...
You are usually faster than me by a good margin, this time with few km under the belt I'm faster. I'm sure that by the end of the tt things will revert back to usual.
Back to your question, I feel my issue is finding the limit. I underuse car and this is "good" for this tt conditions
You are probably more confident in where to search for the limit, and in this particular case are above it.

Just guessing

Post your lap for us! Would love to view and gives my insight (FWIW) and then the true aliens came give you the real feedback lol.

What I do is save best lap replay, then go to the showcase, my items and your lap should be there (you dont have to share to the community to do this). Load up the replay and pause immediately. Show all info from the settings tab and when ready, hit share button on controller and record and start the replay and then hit stop recording (using share button to pull up the option). Then upload to your youtube profile (just have to connect or login through the menu, very easy) and share on here.

I did a few more laps and have now got closer to Silver. Currently at +5.6% at 1:45.2..

I hear what you are saying. I think one of my frustrations is with the car. I'm not used to it and am getting to grips with it. The thing that has been killing me most (as I feel slow in the corners) is coming out of said corners, I found the car very happy to just carry on rotating and crash out with next to no throttle input. So far I'm taming this with TCS2 and counter steer on.

Thanks for the "you can do it" motivation. Part of it is that I'm getting used to a new wheel/pedal set up as well so in addition to wet weather that is unforgiving on mistakes I also have new equipment to learn..

Man...you guys are hard to please 🤣

Here is a replay with controller, automatic, and TC1. Search for gtrcontroller in showcase...and yes..it is faster than using wheel :D

@Pesselles in case you need another ghost to chase.

Yeah, your videos are so instructives and I really need to follow the same paths as you show here.
For all you advices and help, I already owe you a beer!!

Packing bags and now and then get a lap in, but Spa is just one of those tt's were longer stints pay off, you get more relaxed and are more consistent on breaking point, or sliding point.... I'm not a fan of this one, people telling it grips nicely.......gimmie what your drinking....

Still not save i to gold, but found some time in a less sliding lap than the others.... but frustrated because I had 2 laps were I was up 0.700 before stuffing up the last corner and overshot myself.....

@Dolph Drago
how in the world...... 🤣🤣👍👍
