Really enjoying recent Time Trials, and judging by participation numbers, so are the players. It's one area of the game where PD are now starting to experiment with the possibilities the game has to offer with unusual car/track combos.

Only put in a few laps on the Red Bull at Spa event and can instantly tell this will be one of my favourites so far. Very pleased PD chose the Junior car rather than always going for outright speed!

Man...you guys are hard to please 🤣

Here is a replay with controller, automatic, and TC1. Search for gtrcontroller in showcase...and yes..it is faster than using wheel :D

@Pesselles in case you need another ghost to chase.

Geeez, you're pulling a lap like that just out of the bag!
It's the skills right there. Hats off to you!

I tend to slide off in the 1st turn when my right wheels are inside red'n'white curbs (it's sometimes convenient for turn 2, but mostly not). Too much gas too early - that is the problem, I know, but with X it is hard to dose it just right.
Anyways, I'll be lapping much more and maybe one of those will resemble something decent.
Cool tip with the car, that GT-R is easiest of those I tried.

Got to be careful when dropping those wheels outside the curb. The right wheels are unloaded, so dropping those wheels to some rough road are fine. But if you put any one of the left wheels outside the curb, assume you don't get a penalty, you really are going to unsettle the car big time.

I know it is hard to change button location, but using L2 and R2 for brake and throttle helps a ton. I'm not even sure how you guys do trail braking without using the L2 🤔

Ok, I'm done with this, it's fun, I must say, but managing to finish every 10th lap is a bit annoying :D

My goal was to go under 2:40, finally did that after like 50 attempts.

I got into Silver.

Post your lap for us! Would love to view and gives my insight (FWIW) and then the true aliens came give you the real feedback lol.
Of course I accidentally exited out before saving that lap so I tried again. The next sessions were a tale of catastrophe. I think because I knew I could go faster but I was over pushing as well.

This was the best of the next session and then next lap was a typical for me.

So lots of mistakes in this and lots of time to be gained. I know I don't use the whole track as I am kind of scared of the curbs in the wet. Also the puddles but I'm using a few of those as braking markers so perhaps they're useful

Anyway happy for feedback. I will keep plugging away..

Top 1000 to be in Gold might be a bit of a stretch for me this week.

Decent combo though, might try MT since it’s not a rocket ship and I could do with the traction.
Well I put some more laps in today and got down to a 2:39.9!

Well chuffed with that, rank 450 is higher than I’ve ever been :)

I got into Silver.

I’d turn off the assists and use TC, the car is pretty stable and the ones you have on kill your power in the wet.

I also noticed you rarely go fully off the throttle and tend to ride it a bit, this kills the car rotation and you can see you push wide mid corner a lot. Try coming full off so it rotates then get back on early.

I've got the TCS at 2 as at 1 I was getting to much rotation and counter steer on as that is the only thing that stops me currently from careening off the track on certain corners. No other assists. Yes I can get round with no assists but it is more the rare exception than the norm. I'll try some more but I didn't think CS affects overall speed that much.

Your S1 isn't too bad - Maybe throttle more on the first hairpin exit and take wider entry into it (dont have to worry about someone jumping inside). On the hill, drop throttle completely flick right and then 50%-75%ish throttle until half-way up the hill and then full throttle.

S2 there is a lot of room for improvement here. One thing I noticed is you use 2nd gear too much - in my opinion, outside of slow corners, never use it except to rotate the car as it makes the tail very slippery. On the downhill where its a tight slow right hander followed by the left, you're losing a ton of time. As someone else mentioned, get off the throttle completely here staying in 2nd and then when exiting the right-hander, shift to 3rd as you can accelerate quicker without spinning. You end up exiting quite wide, which ruins your entry point for the left hander. You end up very wide on that turn, in the wet part of the track and no exit speed. The s-turn isn't too bad but get out of 2nd and into 3rd. You missed breaking point for the right hander which caused you to be way off the apex hindering exit speed. I'm barely inside gold but I was 1:15.018 in S2 to your 1:16.852 and I think the majority of that was on the slow right medium left portion the most.

S3 same as S2, lots of room for improvement. Rev 5th all the way out coming up to fast left hard turn before the straight. When I do that turn I come in 6th and then lift and downshift to 5th - Turn in slightly earlier than you did in the vid allowing the engine to break for you and then faster on the throttle trying to hit the apex. Accelerate out in 5th and rev it out. On the final chicane, break slightly later as you were down to the speed you needed before turning in too soon. I wouldn't use 1st gear other than rotating the car and then up to 2nd (can quickly use 1st on the latter half of the chicane to rotate) and use that gear to accelerate out. This is another instance of just let it coast through the turn as it'll line you up straight quicker and not understeering wide into the puddles where you would normally be on dry conditions. My S3 was 41.887 to your 43.379

Hopefully that helps some!

I did several more laps for the time trial featuring Gr.3 cars at Maggiore, and I ended up improving my time by over a whole tenth, so now my best time is something in the ballpark of 0:52.8xx. Good stuff. I was still technically in gold range when I went into Sport Mode today, but I had a feeling I could improve my time a bit.

I tried various recommendations today. I tried without traction aids, I tried to coast more and keep in 3rd gear without dropping. I will say that trying all this I became well acquainted with the vegetation around the track, oh, and the barrier :D.

Perhaps some of it rubbed off on me, but perhaps not. In the end I did improve on my best time to a 1:43.031 (having gone back to TCS 2 and CS) but I am still firmly mid pack silver for now.

Please revel in my failed attempts at improvement, but then also my new best lap...

Just realized the toilet paper roll...Is the toilet your rig? That's brilliant if it is!

As for my second attempt at Spa, I outperformed my expectations. I was so close to a sub 2:39, but I didn't quite get off the final part of the chicane as tight as I had hoped. The car bogs down and wheelspins the wider you exit. For those struggling coming to the line, there is a TON more grip the further inside you are as you exit the chicane. The middle of the track is ideal for traction.

Argh! All that time was lost in the final turn.

While my time felt great, I don't think I have over a second in me to catch our resident Finnish alien, @djolliea. Holy crap, that is fast! Well done to whoever can run in the 2:37's.

Random thought - have you checked your settings for either wheel or controller? Some of those spins were perplexing wonder if too sensitive or something

I half expected this Spa TT to be the crappiest crap that ever crapped………..but I was wrong. WAY more fun than expected. A few laps ,where I’d lost time or got a penalty, just kept going and playing with drifts.
After 3 quick sessions and 15 laps, 10 of those laps wasted going way too wide on exit and turning in too early on a few turns. There’s definitely a 2:38 in there if I can make the time.

Unbelievable lap dude and with button for gas and brake mindblowing. Hmm the other button player @tmtk also threw down a serious fast time too maybe they're on to something

Edit: LOL I got confused with who used buttons last night my bad

Thanks! I will say that using X for gas is not ideal. Because of it, I'm constantly having to blip the throttle but still able to make it work. Maybe I'm channeling my inner Senna.

Bravo, sir.

Got a few sneaky laps in at the Gr3 TT in the 911 before heading to the airport (Tokyo for a week for work! Any must see places for anyone who’s been? Thinking I’ll check out Nissan Crossing tomorrow!).

Managed to squeeze out half a tenth and get back into the top 100

Finally, a decent result for a one day full of work, trying a handful of cars and running hundreds of laps.
My thumbs ache, but seeing 51 here trumps it.

The NISMO GT3'18 is a beautiful car for this job, easiest to drive of all the metas and favourites.
Thank you @Evilmuffin and @Pesselles for this!
Bravo mon ami !!!! 👏👏👏💪💪💪
Perseverance and stubbornness always pay off !!!!

Ok, my goal for today was trying to secure gold on Spa, going to sleep at 4 pm because i leave at 1am this night, and have to be focused for that 12 hour drive, so had set my alarm at 05:30 today to get some laps in.

First there was nothing that worked, but slowly my PB came down to 2.7% but that ain't enough I quess.

Then suddenly found some time and the moment I crossed the line GT Hung, frozen, only sound was still normal so could rev but video was completely hung with exactly 2:40.000 on the clock followed by the damn blue screen.... God is was mad

Lap after lap and finally hit your PB then it crashes, so annoying .....

So took some time to make coffey took a breath and went again....

I whooped the hell out of the blue screen!!, I yelled gotcha b#tch ! 2:39.407 😁😁🤣
This was my last try for 2 weeks +, and I'm super happy to have set this before I have to pack and leave..... now I can sleep peacefully in France 🤣🤣

Wish you all luck with the TT,'s, happy lapping boys and girls!, I'm out!
