I'm not quite there yet... I'll have an extra glass of wine over lunch with friends today; that is the push I need to nail it this evening!

After only putting in a few laps when the TT came out, I got some time today and considerably lowered my first PB of 2:47 to 2:40. Still finding the right line, but 39's should be possible with a bit of practice.

@Evilmuffin hi there ;)

I don’t think I’ll be able to enjoy race b this week. Going through that chicane is just a total crapshoot, and after about 15 races it is clear that I have almost no control over my finishing position. I’ve driven like **** and finished third, I’ve driven very well and finished 14th. It all comes down to people in front of you crashing and making it impossible to get through without crashing or picking up a penalty, or someone slamming into you because they just try toy take the whole thing full throttle without even downshifting.

How you race in all the other parts of the track is practically irrelevant.

Just realized the toilet paper roll...Is the toilet your rig? That's brilliant if it is!

As for my second attempt at Spa, I outperformed my expectations. I was so close to a sub 2:39, but I didn't quite get off the final part of the chicane as tight as I had hoped. The car bogs down and wheelspins the wider you exit. For those struggling coming to the line, there is a TON more grip the further inside you are as you exit the chicane. The middle of the track is ideal for traction.

Argh! All that time was lost in the final turn.

While my time felt great, I don't think I have over a second in me to catch our resident Finnish alien, @djolliea. Holy crap, that is fast! Well done to whoever can run in the 2:37's.

As nice as that sounds, having a toilet in the living room,no....the TP is for my nose, probably should have had surgery years ago but didn't, i blow my honker out quite a few times a day :dopey:

Spa, the mystery of the Belgium. 😄
Ok, I had little time and were pushing too hard. 39.4. Atm.
Will get that 38 next week, maybe.

Tip for all freinds, dont, let, the, car, slide 😄😄😄
Or get too much wheelspin.
Tyres will heat too much and lose all the grip.

Again PD, please fix the tyre temp meters. 👍👍👍👍

For Spa I got myself into the 42s with a 2:42.919.

While there are clearly spots where I can be quicker, considering how much I still "feel on the edge of chaos" while driving this thing I don't know where I can make up 2.5 seconds to get into gold safely. I got a feeling this one will remain a Silver for me.

Random thought - have you checked your settings for either wheel or controller? Some of those spins were perplexing wonder if too sensitive or something
I have a new GT DD Pro wheel and CSL Elite V2 pedals that I am still getting used to and playing with settings. For that lap I was set up more for a GT3 car that was on maximum controller sensitivity and set up accordingly that felt good for GT3 and slower cars. For this lap, I changed the settings for controller FFB Sen to 1 and also the in wheel settings for a set up that is more aligned for GT2 and above cars. I also changed the brake force to a higher setting, requiring me to apply more force to lock up, so that braking was more gentle for this car. That run felt better.

While I am getting better with no TCS I still can't drive this without CS on - it's the only thing that keeps me in a straight line on certain sections of the track.

Inching closer. Hopefully I'll have the time to grind on it before it's done. I really think I've got it if I can lay it all down right. It's usually one missed apex that throws the whole lap off for me. I've seen moments where I was enough ahead in a lap to be high 51s if I could just keep it together but I always seem to miss something when I'm actually running fast. It's infuriating and awesome all at once.

Managed to get a 51.545 at Lago TT. I think I'm happy with that. Don't think I'll keep putting any more miles in it.

Ran 6 laps at Spa TT and managed to clock 2.42.680. I feel like in order to secure gold you need a sub 2.40 and I don't know if I can find that much time in condition that I absolutely hate driving in. I did it with IM tires with TCS 2. I'll get back to it later to see if I can improve but I will be happy with just getting silver here if gold is out of reach.

I gotta say, I was about surprised at the driveability in the spa TT. This is a lot more interesting and much better than the S10 license wet challenge, which I think gave me PTSD when it comes to driving in the wet at Spa 😆. At least here when you lose the rear end, you can still catch it and keep going.

We seem to have the same problem with this damned 1st sector where we are too slow (17.6xx).
Keep practising and pushing and you'll gold it in 0:51.xxx :)

I took another .5s off my Spa time today with TCS 1 and CS for a mid 1:42 something. Still over 4% off FL though. Prior to that I spent about 90 minutes trying to learn how to drive this with no aids. I managed to get it around a lap but the time was mid 1:44s. There were definitely spots where I was up by a lot but then I'd wipe out through a later corner. That is the knife edge of trying to drive this in the wet with no aids. Be easy on the turns and gas and higher gearing and I'm really slow. Just a smidge too aggressive on acceleration and I spin out. It was frustrating but I kept at it hoping it would eventually make me a better driver. Kudos to those that drive this way.

It's so funny. One day I'll absolutely see the line in totality in one section and the next is where I lose it and forget what I'm doing. Next session it'll be the opposite. One day I'll make a new best time in the 458 and the next I need the AMG. One time I bested myself in the Skyline. The first time I made it under 53 was the Supra. It's simply consistency for me. Across the board. It's hard with the limited time I have and because when I do get time I push sooooo hard that the flow state never comes.

Really just comes down to time. There isn't enough, until there is too much. 🤯😂😂👾👾👾👾

Finally scraped into bronze last night after about 180KM! Not checked today but if the record improved a little I'll be back to no-medal-status. Thought that would put me in top half but no, nothing like, there's hardly anyone playing this compared to others (64,778 when I just looked)

Haven’t had much opportunity to get any seat time this week. Grabbed a few laps at Spa on Thursday or Friday but otherwise the last time I did any serious lapping was for the Porsche eSports event in the 917K.

Consequently it took some time to get my eye back in at Lago… spent some time lapping in the Aston Martin which is something I don’t normally drive and got to within a tenth of my 911 lap from the prior weekend. Then moved back to the 911 and found just over a tenth for a new best of 51.706. I might be done here now and move over to Spa as I think that will take a bit more work to get to a competitive time.

Well, same "consistancy" issue here.... :D Good luck, we still have some time to get a safe gold here!!
