Feels dirty with the basically wall ride but i snuck into the 54.8s on High Speed Ring (did it in a live stream if anyone wants to see, video guide maybe tomorrow) on the same stream I also improved slightly in the Viper. Bit frustrating as I'm on a 1:12.6 and optimum has been several times a 1:12.3. Briefly back in the top 100. Really thought I'd be top 30 on this one... guess I needed some humble pie!

Felt the controversy warranted some discussion so made a very quick video on it

IMHO, there's no discussion possible at this point: wall riding shouldn't be possible AT ALL - like for others penalties, it's pretty much easy to ban technically this behavior in the game according to my wife who works in the 3D industry - and cheaters should be banned from the leaderboard.

On a personal side, I stand in solidarity with the top ranking players who are harmed by these cheaters and I'm proud of my honest HUMAN golden score, only gained with hours of training.

Every time there's a daily race at HSR there's always wallriding involved. One time there's a Manufacturer race here with Gr.4 and people were doing silly things in T2 as well. PD never learns. I got gold by a comfortable margin and just left it. Pointless to try so hard if PD is going to reset the board in a week's time and you have to redo the lap again.
 
OMG - managed to fit some more laps in (working from home today, er-hum) and got silver with a 56.293!!
I did it by following a slower ghost (no point following the super-fast ones as I lose them!), I think it was somebody named W. Punisher (thanks very much!!!).
That second left hander I copied by going around the outside of the bend (as a few have mentioned on here) and I picked up quite a bit of time, leaving my ghost in the distance. Hard to do without touching the wall though.....

I totaly second this smart message!! Cheating is not interesting at all and should be banned.

My biggest satisfaction so far is my gold medal on Lake Maggiore with my GT-R because I had to "fight" - with the help of this lovely community - again and again to gain the latest hundreds. It was difficult, annoying but I'm very proud of this acheivement. And this makes me proud.

For HSR, I've learned the circuit the day before and I've followed Tidgney's ghost, so it was much more easier than expected to get an easy gold. Don't need at all to gain another second by cheating but gaining some tenths by improving my skills is possible :dopey:

Sounds like another round of "lap-time limbo without Lambo" to get near you! So, please don't gain too many tenths... (wallriding is for skaters only.)

Don't worry my friend, I will never wall-ride and won't spent more effort in this TT. I consider my current score as the reflect of my driving level and I'm very proud as it is.

BUT... I've learned and improved my score on HSR CE (with the Zonda, not the Lambo^^) and I've golded it! My score is humanely decent and a bit far from my 2 not-100%-humans friends @Evilmuffin and @GlockPants :D

Getting banned sounds a little harsh though. It's really PD's fault for allowing and/or not anticipating people taking advantage of an exploit. Wiping the board and implementing a penalty that invalidates your current lap if you make contact with the wall should be sufficient, IMO.
 
I have not tested it but is the wall-riding possible in HSR CE?

When I mentioned "banned", I wanted to say from this TT, not enterly from the game.
I agree with you on the point I've bolded in your message and this is probably why nothing will happen. I see no reason trying to improve my score where some leaders are cheating. On the other side, I'm only a real human driver :dopey:
 
Only benefit is in T2. Watch the fastest lap from the chinese guy, he does wallride a bit, but if you go too far, you get a penalty easy. So it can be a benefit of about a tenth, maybe even 2, but it's much greater risk of ruining the lap with a penalty.

As for the PD taking action against this, hey, we had several TTs (for ex. Atlanta with the X2019) where the aliens were cutting corners and grass riding with the whole car and gained like a second per lap, but nobody cancelled or wiped the times for that.

Minor improvement to 54.879...no I didn't wall ride, but I did bump the barrier a little and lost 1/10th there :/ Figured out how to do the S turn....and figured out the last banked left.

Then forgot everything 10 laps later 😆

Optimal was a 54.618!!!!

Slowly dipping my times down with the Viper at BMB. Was stuck on 1:15 flat, but now dropped to 14.7 and then 14.4 in the last couple of days. I think the livery is helping eek out a few extra tenths!

Also tried my hand at the new TT at HSR today. First few laps were fairly terrible, barely getting below 0:57, but then it all started to click, and I'm proud to say I've managed a gold time WITHOUT wall-riding, with a 55.875 so far. Hopefully that will hold for gold, but we will see!

Only a rental, that one, so no fancy livery there.

0.55.6.. and a bit, no wall riding but had a small touch or two with the barrier. Enough for gold at the moment it seems.

Got a penalty every time i did hit that bloody barrier to much, so surprised to read here that wall riding is very much possible.
Guess I even suck at wall riding then....

From the GT7 Sport page you can check each ongoing event. Has the entry period but doesn't seem to keep track of what time is required for gold. However the leaderboard is there.
