Working hard as always, @half_sourly 🙌🏽

Slight improvement in the Viper last night, powered by Budweiser and cheap plonk! I cracked the secret and realised ABS weak wasn’t any quicker at all, just downshifting as early as possible (without taking the piss..). For some reason the car is more stable under acceleration with ABS normal, don’t ask me why…

Would love top 100 again, this will be my grind until Wednesday and praying for a better TT so I can completely avoid HSR which is a load of rubbish!

Sidelined here with hardware malfunction (my d-pad broke - it's turning right ).
Tried the analogue sticks, but damn I'm so inconsistent and slower with those, it's ok for mindless Sardegna grind, but not for TTs.
Ordered a new one and hoping it will arrive by Wednesday to have one more go at BMB.

Come on, it's time for a little coffee break and a protein bar (yes, we're like the English with their tea break !!!!! 🤣🤣),

after driving 100 kms at HSR. It's really exhausting !!!! 🤣🤣
Result: small improvement in time to be at 0'55'125 with an optimal time at 0'55'006

Motion sensor steering?

Had a second session in the Viper this morning, but could only manage 40 miles given a late start after a very late night last night. Managed to squeeze into gold (just) with a 1:13.797. Still only have 80 or so miles on the car, but might not get another session with this, so hopefully it sticks. Amusingly, I got a 5* ticket for my troubles which got me a stage 3 weight reduction for a Dodge Hellcat safety car… 🤦‍♂️

Given how behind I am with the TT at the moment (combination of the Porsche eSports events and work), I may skip HSR and wait for the new event this coming Thursday. Friends coming to stay from the UK next Friday for 10days though, so I may be a little absent around here. Good luck everyone

Maybe I've slept under a rock, but I just found out that some of the top times are achieved by wallriding. Atm I'm still in gold with a bit of room for improvement without bumping the wall. I don't like to use exploits to go fast, but I fear of I don't I might drop out of gold. I could care less about the medal, but losing a million quid to cheaters feels meh.

How do readers of this thread feel about world records set with exploiting the penalty system? Is it part of the game/time trial and every method to go fast is fair or do you consider it dirty?

I've decided to not continue to participate to this TT (I'm in gold and it should hold to the end) to support people who lose their reward due to cheaters and all the players who race honestly. It probably won't change anything but I do what I can.

There's a server maintenance planned tomorrow, we all hope it'll bring a clean up and ban these wall riders.

Meh...did another 60 laps at HSR. I had sector two totally figured out today. I was averaging 17.2s with constant 17.1s and best with 17.0s. But of cause I totally forgotten how to do the last banked turn. I had such a hard time getting into the 15.2s, where yesterday I was breaking into 15.1s once every few laps.

Got a 54.680 with a mid 17.2s and a mid 15.2s second and third sector. It could've been 3/10s faster! :irked:

I decided to go back to Blue Moon in the Viper today to see if I could improve any there. I picked up a whopping .009 for my efforts to a 1:12.817. Annoyingly, my sector 2 was poor on that lap. My optimal was a 1:12.505. Ugh. What could have been. I think I'll continue with this one until the end as I'm not overly interested in the HSR TT. Fingers crossed I can hit that one lap where every sector is solid.

I actually don't care how times are coming.
I personally don't like it and don't do it.
Pd is allowing it, on purpose or not, so it's legal. I'd way more disappointed if they correct the issue and wipe the board now (not that I have indications about it, I'm just speculating)
I see the tt more a way to compete against myself first.
If wallriding will steal me a medal I will not be happy but will process the loss quickly. money is an even smaller issue, with weekly tt and offline it takes very little to repair the loss.

I understand your reaction very well and I agree with you. It's not normal that these guys are not punished for this TT. I managed to do this time (0'55'005) without wall-riding and frankly if I want to have a faster time, I would have to do like some people, but I don't see the point.
I know you can go faster by staying clean. So try again and you will see that you will succeed without cheating. 💪💪💪💪

I see your points and kind of agree with then, but I don't see how pd can identify wallriders.
Right, not without watching each individual replay. That won't happen.

I suspect PD will do nothing to address this TT. There are no, what I'd call, real world stakes in these activities. The Porsche eSports event was different in that the top performers had a chance to win a real money prize.

Thank you my friend, I really appreciate your kind comment.

Like said smartly @zjn , TT are more a way to compete against myself first. I love challenging myself IG and IRL. I could probably gain few tens here, it won't change anything to the leaderboard. But I have zero motivation to participate in a competition where leaders are cheaters (I know, it's probably weird but it's very personal). I just wait for the next TT while grinding credits and also improving my scores on CEs where I try to beat @Evilmuffin @GlockPants @Gorefast @NorbR @Saargasm and some others elite drivers :)

It's not just wall riding, there are other things which you only pick up on from watching replays or coming here. There have been a few challenges where you need to take a weird line, double shift, shift at a very low point in the rev range etc

Achieved a 54.930 on HSR without using any wallriding, not sure if I'll be able to beat that as the optimum is 54.890. Even if I wanted to wallride, it seems like you have to be very accurate with how you touch the wall to avoid getting a penalty. Being on controller I don't think I would be able to maintain that type of accuracy consistently.

Also achieved gold in the Viper but I don't remember my time, was about 2.5% off gold. Don't think I will go back to that one either as I wasn't enjoying it very much. It seemed difficult for me to find the flow with that combination.

Yesterday morning left France at 06:30 and did arrived at 5:30 after a real life very long stint 🤣. A lot of rain in France, Belgium and the Netherlands so was an exhausting drive of 11 hours!

But there it was.......waiting for me.....

So hooked it up yesterday for the first time and downloaden the PS5 version of GT7,
Man that music rally looks a lot better than on PS4!, but was so tired I waited till thr download was secured and went to bed.

This morning for thr first time hopped into the Viper..... that Dualsense..... what a world of difference in feel, it is going to take a little time to get used to, but it feel quite good!
Prob not the best car to get to know the controller 🤣🤣

But did gold it after I kind if begun to understand what the fuzz was all about with that understeery oversteery brakeless yaght 🤣🤣

Now after 2 weeks with a new console I'm thriller!.....and yet now the servers are down 🤣, hurry up that update PD, I need to practice!
