The new TT at Big Willow is open Gr.3.
I know that many here dislike Gr.3 and it really isn't something new or exciting. But I like to choose different cars to keep my motivation high and improve my driving. Any track is welcome as long as it is not made of ice and snow... See you all in the sand! 🏜️This is the earliest I’ve ever jumped on a TT.
Most appear to be going with M6 or BRZ. I chose the AMG. Early days still but top 3% and top 300.

Now I just have to figure out how not to lose time on the last corner. It’s about 50/30/20 as to if I go off, lose a second or get a decent run…

I agree. When I saw Big Willow with RH tyres, I was hoping for this combo to return! It’s not that I don’t enjoy Gr3, but I always get the feeling that it lacks some imagination on PD’s behalf. If they wanted a US themed event this week to celebrate Thanksgiving, they could have selected the Chaparral 2J or Ford GT40 (or something similar) - instead Gr3 feels like they forgot about it until the last minute. Oh well, will be nice to be done with the snow 😂
You could always do what @Fezzik has suggested (and what I'm going to do) and stick with American cars for this, for a bit of Gr.3 variation. I barely use my Gr.3 cars with USA origins, so it'll be interesting to break them out and I might even buy a couple of the expensive Fords I've not yet got round to buying... But I agree it could have been nice to have some of the legend cars or something as a one-make instead. It’s not that I don’t enjoy Gr3, but I always get the feeling that it lacks some imagination on PD’s behalf. Wow... mate.. that was... P1 WRI agree. When I saw Big Willow with RH tyres, I was hoping for this combo to return!
Are you thinking what I am thinking... that you and @Fezzik will have 24 hours to pick one of those 6 cars listed above and challenge rest of members of this community in side TT, same but with the car you two picked? 😲You could always do what @Fezzik has suggested (and what I'm going to do) and stick with American cars for this, for a bit of Gr.3 variation. I'll work my way through:
Chev Corvette Gr.3
Dodge Viper Gr.3
Ford GT LM Race Car
Ford GT LM Spec II
Ford GT Race Car '18
Ford Mustang Gr.3
I feel like the Corvette and Mustang are likely to be the quickest of that bunch.
I like the sound of that! @Fezzik you mentioned the Viper. I'm happy to put some miles on my Viper - always had a soft spot for it!Are you thinking what I am thinking... that you and @Fezzik will have 24 hours to pick one of those 6 cars listed above and challenge rest of members of this community in side TT, same but with the car you two picked? 😲
( hey hey I am at work and haven't tested any of it yet, maybe it is bad idea, maybe it is good idea, I can have my own ideas right ) press like if you like idea, press poo if you do not like it and we will see...
Let’s be honest here. I could do hours of TTs a day for the whole 2 weeks to set a time, and you guys would beat it on lap 1.Are you thinking what I am thinking... that you and @Fezzik will have 24 hours to pick one of those 6 cars listed above and challenge rest of members of this community in side TT, same but with the car you two picked? 😲
OK mate, it was just suggestionLet’s be honest here. I could do hours of TTs a day for the whole 2 weeks to set a time, and you guys would beat it on lap 1.
Same. But might still be fun to see what the forum members here can do with a relatively uncompetitive car. 🤷♂️I'm willing to bet the gold percentage for Lake Louise would've been over 1.0% if people knew about the sudden WR improvement...many got caught by surprise.
Congrats. Had similar issues where I didn't improve for days and it started to click last minute. Improved to 46.0xx with opt of 45.8xx on my last effort, but couldn't string it together at 3am last night :/You never know. It took hours for me to drop .05 seconds a few days ago. I got on today and ran a 1:46.1 in just a few laps. The only thing that hurt me on that run was a poor sector 1. Less than 10 laps later I happened to nail turn 1 (and didn't completely screw up the rest of the lap) and dropped my time down to 1:45.640 as shown in my post above. So, it is possible.
Tried out the 4 of them I actually have in my garage ...5 laps each for a starterYou could always do what @Fezzik has suggested (and what I'm going to do) and stick with American cars for this, for a bit of Gr.3 variation. Mostly applies to Finns, I'd say.I thought all Swedes were born with a rally car in their mouth and the ability to tail slide around in the snow. Or is that only the Fins?
I used the Vette for one of the GTWS series this year - very nice and controllable, very slow (compared to the rest of Gr3). Sadly the Mustang does seem to be overshadowed by the GTs, maybe that would change if we could ever get the new one.Tried out the 4 of them I actually have in my garage ...5 laps each for a starter
The GT Spec II was the fastest( 1:17,385 so far, but there is plenty of room for improvement I guess, silver is not completly unrealistic), the Viper was quick, but also very quick to go offroad(got one valid lap out of 5), the Vette was similiar to the Viper, but at least for me more controllable and the Mustang was a little bit behind(but also the first try, so i wasn't used to the track as much as with the later cars...)
I guess I stay with those american cars for that TT and see what is possible...
