I've got more time in me, which is super weird because I used to loathe this track. This combo is really fun. Used the meta but I think I'm going to play with the BMW a little as well because I always love that car. I've never actually used the BRZ much but it really seems to work here. It was actually fairly easy (took 25 minutes) to find a somewhat safe for now gold.

Edit so as not to post another post...

All you fast sonsabitches in here have really pushed me hard to be better. My results in the last 5 TTs have been better than I ever hoped for and between you maniac aliens and @half_sourly keeping tabs on all of us plebs, it has really pushed me to git gud. Glad to have found this place and this thread specifically. It's a great community. So a heart felt thanks to you all pushing so hard. It makes me push hard too and my results certainly show it.

Im surprised by how much fun I’m having with this combo considering I always tended to hate big willow. (Maybe I’ve been wrong)
The Big Willie is a grower...:)

Didn't like it at all when I first encountered it in GTS and enjoy it more with any race there...and I've been reading exactly the same from other useres here as well

And, by the way, the two smaller tracks there are the perfect tracks for setting up David vs Goliath custom races, like having big powerful muscle cars against small quirky ones...

wow, I gave up early with the snow cannonball TT but didn't realize how my bronze was close to Nonze

This evening hopefully I will have my second run at Daytona.
Pinpoints for me after whatching your youtubes without having the possibility to drive since Sunday:
1- position the car before turn1 in order to have a straight braking lane
2- ensure I'm not overdoing in apex sped at turn 2, use the accelleration marker identified
3- ensure I'm not overdoing in apex sped at turn 3 (or 4 if you count the one taken at full gas)
4- brake early at the chicane so that I can reapply gas before the second half of it

1 will be probably the most difficult one from the technical standpoint
2, 3 and 4 are more mental challenges

Let's see what I end up with

When I saw that the new Time Trial was taking place in Willow Springs, I was disappointed at first, as I absolutely hate the track.
But when I saw that at least Group 3 cars were being used, I was in a slightly better mood, as I normally get on well with it.
My first session went quite well. After a few laps I clocked a 1:11.785.
The last corner ruined a few fast attempts, so we'll see what I can do over the next few days.

I don’t know. Looks pretty big to me 😅

But yeah, maybe this track just needs a while to click.

Managed to improve my time a bit.
Maybe I could even break into 1:11.x? I’m not sure. But first I need to get back to Daytona. Feels like everyone in this thread is way ahead of me there.

Viper update - it’s so bad I thought my controller was broken. Took about 10 retries before I even made it round the final corner to start the lap.

Switched to the Corvette. Actually goes round bends. Will stick with this one.
I wanted to try your "american" TT but I don't have any Gr.3 from the USA at the moment. But only done 2 laps to try, with the M6. I need to try other cars to see with which one I am the most at ease.

Still behind, but I think I'll take the Big Willow as my throw away TT so I can get in on the fun with the fresh one next week.

First stint at Daytona. An exploratory session just to feel out the car and track, figure out the DRS stuff. The road course isn't a favorite of mine, typically because of Turn 1. I don't mind the bus-stop too much, but it's easy to get wrong in a variety of ways.

That all said, this session had me decently into Gold. I'll try to grind out some good laps on this one, see if I can make a repeat or beat my P108 that I got at Lake Louise.

First meters on Willow..... still hate it, but have to deal with it 🤣

Started with the M6, god that was awfull, that boat has NO rotation on this combo, maby better on wheel but for me?....naah... I want something that does turn 🤣🤣

Dusted off "Mushy" my little Subawoo Mushroom BRZ.....

Took some time to find the right gears and flow of the track, did spun out quite a few times but set a descent time on the first try.
Not going to grind this one, it's all your folks 🤣🤣

I've never been a fan of Willow Springs. I've said it multiple times, if there was some foliage, I may enjoy it more. I hate seeing just dirt around the track. I want some trees or something! Also, I can never take the final turn the same way two laps in a row. In any case, the BRZ does feel comfortable around here. The final turn is less of hazard thanks to the car's grip. And for one brief day, I'm ahead of both @Gomario JSP and @Evilmuffin! Yay! :dopey: We'll see how long that lasts, though. Improvement will have to wait, because I still need to get back to Daytona.

For being my favorite car, the Viper is actually so bad. I had the same problem when i took it racing around the Watkins Glen Daily c a few weeks ago. Geniunely thought there was a problem with my stick.

Here are your individual stats to date. And thank you very much for the virtual coffee! ☕

How did I miss these stats? Was eagerly awaiting the 400R results to see where I placed on the community LB. Even though my placement probably would've been considerably lower if some of the faster players wouldn't have abandoned Tokyo so soom, this was still by far my best result :)

I gotta head over to Daytona as well, haven't started that one yet. But for tonight I got really motivated to hop on and do some laps around Big Willow first. Personally I think it's a perfect track, the incredible flow and groove it provides is unmatched. Don't mind the sand at all, keeps you on your toes. With certain time settings it also has the potential to look amazing.

Put up a ghost for you lot and I shall return next week. ;)

Today's goal was to get into the 1.5% which I finally did. The alien time of 1:11s seems pretty illusive at the moment. The mult-corners combo in sector 2 just never seem to make sense to me.... especially the downhill left at the end of it. I just can't get it right regardless.

Yeah, that's a tough one. And it's possibly the most important corner on the entire circuit because how quickly you get out of it has an effect on the entire back straight. Watching the Kie's guide, he puts his right tires in the dirt before the corner to widen it out. That's something I'm going to try my next time out.

Back to Willow Springs and no surprise to find I’d dropped down the rankings considerably from my first hour play.

I wasn’t doing so well then started to chase @Dolph Drago’s ghost. Thanks for that. Got into the low 1:13s.

IMG_7554.jpeg

My goal is to get into the high 1:12s but I don’t know how to get much more out of this car even though it’s the meta. How’s do people get 1:11s

@Dolph Drago ... i'm sorry.... :lol:

Quick little session this morning, first lap that felt good netted me a descent 12.0, a lot of time to gain between T5 and T6, but nailing it and getting the BRZ turned in without unsettle it from abusing the outside curb on the right is a real b*tch but kind of satifying when you do.
Must say that the GR3 flows better on the track then i thought, still don't like it that much, but less...:lol:

But PD...... why the hell do you remove my apex bush on the second lap???, in replays it's always there..
they have a fast gardener :lol:

Not a bad start, 11's def possible because i did make a mistake on this lap, just hope i'll find the time to do another good session,
bus this will do for now, gold secured
