I have managed to lap Willow springs 1.12.9xx with BRZ, with dualsense now as I wasn't able to get some time behind the wheel, and I hope that I will get time to improve as I also lost gold the last day in Lake Louise TT, so I will try to avoid that.

Most improvement on Willow Springs have I made on Lewis Hamilton DLC in GTS, chasing diamond medals.

Trying to get my first top 100, or 200 even (think my best was p212).

Any predictions where the WR will land?

Aaaand back in the top 1,000 in Daytona, at P 815 with a 1:45.760, so this time it might actually hold. So excited!
I think I could enjoy the moment even more if the game had not shown me that my optimal time was almost 3 tenths faster. 😳
Congrats! Awesome time! I like this combo a lot and will stay this week in Daytona. At my skill level I am happy to be among the Top 5% (in the world, not this GTPlanet of course...) and there is still room for improvement as I fight the bus stop chicane...

I would like to give back something to community, so I am going to share one advice how to get good time on Williow Spring in BRZ.

You who are getting gold time easily can scroll past my post. For you this post might be obvious. Someone who wants to improve bronze to silver or silver to gold might maybe benefit the most.

I would like to start educationally and say that you might react, it's not easy, I can't do it, I am disturbed or similar. Well, I believe that getting skills in anything to get gold medal isn't easy and requires a lot of practice.

So, I am following Jeddah ghost so I have loaded it into replay first and watched it few times until I memorized which gears he is using and where on track he is shifting. Then I started TT and loaded his ghost, set it on reset and picked 0.1 yes yes I know that's that tricky part. 0.1 is pretty close but trust me after first turn he will be on enough far distance not to bother us. I know many will not like this advice, find ghost so near disturbing, or will give up even to try. But I encourage you who want to give it a try, test it and don't give up easily, try again, and then try again. So, rules, you don't look at the ghost itself and read license plate or decals or whatever, just learn to look through ghost and use it as reference, when you see he is pulling away start acceleration, when you see those stop lights on Jeddah BRZ lit, hit the brakes, how hard you will hit them is decided by keeping constant distance to ghost. If he is 10 meters in front and now is 15, you pressed brakes a bit harder than needed.
It will take some time to learn but see it as worth invested time and practice.
Follow the ghost, shift where he shifts as we saw in replay, quick reflexes to brake where he brakes and accelerate where he do. Practice practice and practice. And your times will improve. If someone need detail advice post your lap if you want, and we can see if we can give some advice how to improve lap time.

If I can do it on controller then you can do it too. I am not better than anyone here and whoever put enough practice can get better and better.

Good luck you legends!

RX Vision and Ford GT '17 tested, with the latter being a positive surprise. It was tough to get the lap down, but the potential in the car surprised me. But the Vette will probably be faster...
I tried the Corvette and the Mustang last night - of the 4 US cars I’ve tried, the Corvette is easily the best. Mustang has terrible understeer and seems to lack some power. Corvette and the Ford GT LM were pretty straightforward to get into gold inside a handful of laps.

I also tried the Renault RS01 which is a very quick car around here. Not sure I’ve driven it before and had to rent as I don’t own it. Really balanced handling and resists power on understeer well with good power but is a little tricky in the last corner.

Jumped into the BRZ and went a tenth faster than my best M6 time inside 10 laps! Will be returning to both of these cars today when I get back from Cars and Coffee this morning. 🥯☕️

I found part of the problem with the BRZ not turning. I had abs at normal from Daytona TT and forgot to switch it back to weak. Feels much better now. I only had time to do 5 laps and managed 2 1:12.3s....will try to whip the car to do what I want it to do during the weekend.
I also forgot to switch it back to weak. Thanks for the reminder.

Leaderboard

1:12.721 - RX Vision
1:12.853 - Ford GT '17
1:12.948 - SLS AMG
1:13.076 - 911 RSR
1:13.3XX - Gold cut-off
Silhouette and Beetle tried. The former, as you might expect, is a slowpoke, and the slowest car in the class, with no hope for reaching gold whatsoever (at least in my hands, but considering the gold is only a few tenths away, aliens could easily push the car to gold)

Beetle is decent! I quite like how it drives, but the slowest turns in sector 2 were painful, as the car likes to wheelspin. But you have to force the car to rotate, as without that kick from the rear it would heavily understeer.

I spent a long time going for the best lap. Relatively early on I got a 1:13.043, which I don't know how it happened. Then I struggled to get a decent lap again, the best ones being 1:13.1's, and when I finally got a good lap, it was a 1:13.044...that's when I threw in the towel. If the car doesn't want to be a 1:12 champion, then I won't force it.

Another run at Willow this morning in the BRZ and found a quarter of a second. There’s more time still to find as I dropped a rear wheel onto the dirt out of the last corner and had a little wobble, but pleased with the speed that I’m finding in this car now

Finally got round to putting in a session at Willow Springs tonight using the Viper. Put in about a dozen laps and walked away with a 1:14.3XX. I know I can slip that into the 13s, but almost no way I'll achieve gold in it. I'm happy with a solid silver though, so I'll keep putting in the laps!!
Tomorrow: turkey livery and watch those tenths tumble.

@Fezzik @Barareklam what times have you managed with the Viper??

Ran some at Willow, got down to 1:14.767, well into Bronze, .432 away from Silver.
Isn't 1:14.767 the silver cut-off time??

You are correct. It should be 1:15.199. I transposed the numbers.

First night trying Willow but can’t get very far into gold yet. Enjoy the RS01 and thought I could break 1:12s but I still have a lot to learn.
BRZ was in the same range for me but had more laps that I felt were solid in the RS01.

Probably have better luck following the Barareklam guide to alien status 😂

May go back to Daytona to see if I can improve on that one.

Here are your individual results to date. I will add you to the scoreboards from the next TT.

By the way, I see you have one more gold medal than I have data for. I presume it was one of the US-only ones. If you (or anyone), could find the gran-turismo website link (like this: https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gt7/sportmode/event/7886/) to US-only events, please send them to me and I'll add them to the 'special' TTs once I get around to splitting them out.
