Hi,

Yes, I am unfortunately!

I ordered from Fanatec on the 25th of November. My shipping label was printed 2 days later. I am still waiting to receive my goodies!!! I doubt it will arrive in time for the Christmas break now. :-(

Best regards to all here.

Ian.
You still have nearly 2 weeks..... fingers crossed!

fingers crossed good luck GIF by Zara Larsson

Very interesting to drive this Bugatti, but I just can't do it from the cockpit, the rear view mirror done like that is making my brain tilts

I'm a dragon in this TT, on the straights I'm doing great, then come the chicanes.... 🤢

I really suck in the first one, the second one is unwatchable, I run it 20kmh slower than the best. If this car didn't have so much pickup I would lose ages, instead then I reach similar top speeds and limit the damage.

For now I am at 1.18.617 in PR 1.18.134 in ideal.

Seeing my replay I notice that I leave a lot of track to the left of T1, T4 and T15, and then rework from scratch my approch to the chicanes

My partials compared to TheKie25 are.
+0.647 (first chicane)
+1.073 (second chicane)
+0,323
+0,256

You are getting there!, i would try to take T1 in second gear, you can brake just a little later then and go fairly agressive to second, sometimes i even slide a bit on entry.
i do the same on the harpin which i agressivly enter in first gear and power out in second.

For the long right sweeper after the chicane try to do what you also do in the last corner, keep hugging that curb until you are certain you can open your steering, but minimize your steering input while hugging, it realy makes a difference in exitspeed on this car, then try to be super smooth between those last curbs, you can almost go straight over the last one.

Keep pushing!, you got this!

It's not the first replay of the current TT I see (TheKie25 is the other one) where it seems that in the 2 hairpins first you down**** then you brake.
See second 7-10 in the video. It may not be percivable looking at real speed, but slowing it down you can see it.

Is it what you really do, or it's just a GT7 rendering of your lap?

Thanks

It's a mix of sometimes yes and replay rendering.

It doesn't render the ABS correctly so you can be braking and downshifting at the same time but the replay shows the downshift and then the brake bar lighting up.

At least that's what if found.

Interesting observation. I'm not intentionally downshifting first, but rather hitting the brakes and downshifting at the same time. This car is so fast and the braking distance so short that I have to downshift very rapidly during that short period of time on the brakes for optimal corner entry.

I almost forgot to try the Alpine at Watkins Glen until last night and I'm glad I did. For whatever reason, I was able to gold that TT within about 30 minutes of play time. That rarely happens. I'm actually quite surprised I did this and that the leaders aren't faster because the track is fairly high speed and you really need to optimize track limits to carry as much speed as possible.

The car isn't fast though, nor is it particularly hard to drive. The laptime is also fairly short.

Yes don't worry I had the same thing and I received confirmation from UPS of the shipment on the day of receipt, approximately 10 days after the order at Fanatec.
OMG I think it's happening!

OHHH noooo... you bought a "weapon"... :(:(
My last hopes to win some CE are gone now... This world is so cruel, why there are so many Germans... ( :D )

Good luck to you too Crome, I really hope you'll enjoy your Christmas present and you'll have lot of fun!

:D There's definitely still hope though, my performances are actually all over the place. Just wait for the next snow or dirt track TT and you'll see ;)

Good luck to you too Crome, I really hope you'll enjoy your Christmas present and you'll have lot of fun!
Thanks a lot, and same to you of course!

I'm ready for the new TT. Kyoto is driving me mad with the chicanes.

Very little improvement, but I set my best sectors and lap near the beginning of my stint today. New PB is nice, but the last turn was very bad and I easily have 0.2 seconds or more there. I should've stopped at Lap 20, like I usually do. Instead I pushed another 20 hoping for another good S1 and S2. But it would never come.

I'll maybe give it one or two more days. I don't know how the top times managed to get through the chicanes and not fly all the way off the track. Truly ridiculous alien powers.

So,as expected i got dropped out of Gold with the Bugatti ,by .012, did almost 400 laps last night with no improvement.
Jumped on today and decided the car color was the problem, tried black, improved with the yellow, time to give the blue a shot.
Loaded up my PB ghost which i rarely do and presto ,within 15 laps, back in the Gold!
I went thru the chicane nice n smooth instead of clunky n bumpy, piece a cake, lol.
And as i'm writing this i see @GlockPants post the exact same time :boggled:

Someone had mentioned this previously, so what I do now is watch the replay from bumper cam to see turn in points and references then watch it again in 3rd person view to see when the brake lights on the actual car light up as these seem to be accurate as they light up before the brake bar fills up.

In an extremely surprising turn of events, I somehow managed to improve my Kyoto time to a 1:16.384 which places me 165th currently. Of Course all of this time came in the chicanes, just being able to nail the line through the second chicane was extremely satisfying but only came after another series of restarts and testing different lines to find one that worked consistently. Having said that, .384 was at least a tenth better than even my previous best optimal time so I'm not entirely sure what I did to have that level of improvement and I doubt I will be able to replicate that lap so I think I am finished with this trial. Looking forward to the next trial which will hopefully not involve trying to fly over a chicane at 200km/h

Just did a 1:21:726 on Watkins Glen. I am actually very surprised as I was barely into gold (just 0.01 above the gold time) but as this is my favorite track and I was loving driving the car, I decided to give another go.

On one try, I did my best turn 1 and that got me going. It was a very solid lap, the bus stop was a bit clumsy and exit on the last two turns I could have risked it a bit more. Maybe some more 0.2/0.3 were at a distance but I am very happy with the performance. Specially as I haven’t been playing for a while since.
DS5 btw, can’t wait to get a solid rig one day

Full tenth improvement.
I was hoping for more, but I'll take it.

The most random part of the process (my inputs aside) is on the screenshot.
Bus stop and the subsequent right hander were just hit or miss for me, no consistency whatsoever.

It was fun to try though. But I'm quite tired afterwards.

Fortunately I pretty much did what I set out to do (under .500 and ahead of some thread regulars, sorry @Dolph Drago mate...), despite starting this TT on the final evening, with less than nine hours left. Not too optimal of an approach.

With that said... I don’t know, man. Feelin’ a bit burnt out on the TT’s. Motivation isn’t as high as it used to be. I know many enjoy the amount and the frequency but in my opinion I find it a little too hectic for my liking with this frequency, one new every week.

And with that, you've officially knocked me out of the top 50. I was 50th when I ended my session last night and was really surprised I was still at the same spot when I went again today. Like last night, I just could not hit that lap and improve. That said, I had remained at 50th even after today's long stint, and there was still that ever so slight glimmer of hope. No more... :(

Heck of a lap you posted, though. How you can jump on to a TT so late and knock down that quick of a time is insane.

Man, I did spent days to get where I am now (58) i can't imagine hopping on 9 hours before close time and casually put in a P43 lap 🤣🤣
That is insane mate!

@djolliea congrats with that 8th position, .2xx is bizar, I have have no idea how you manage this EVERY time 🙏🙏

Bizar set of players here 🤣

*another day without certificate.....still no sign 🤣😡

Yeah I agree, I'm a little rusty and burnt out too, because you have to put in so much work to get in the top 1000, so it's never a walk in the park. And I have to study every little part of any replay I see from the top aliens. It takes a lot of time and effort to study each part of whatever track the replay is shown. I agree with the others, that was an amazing comeback!
