Please never again a time trial which relies so heavily on pure luck. Please, Polphony. Come on.

Below, the most excruciating and awful GT experience I’ve had, bar none... Unless there’s potentially something I’ve subconsciously put out of my mind. 3 hours and 30 minutes of pure pain (obviously not in one sitting, though I paused the session — I may have unhealthy habits but not that bad, gotta keep the fingers working).

  • 160 laps
  • 19 valid laps (valid lap success rate of 11,87%) of which just about four (2,50%) or five (3,12%) of them were anything to consider — other valid ones too slow
  • Final time a 1’16.076. Optimal at 1’15.591. I would’ve stopped immediately at a 1’15.999 but it just wouldn’t happen.
  • Best invalid time: 1’15.832 (with a failed final corner, too wide making it invalid and losing more than 0,100 on just that poor exit! :banghead: )

Now it’s way more than enough though, it’s just too awful of a combination. The car itself is fine but the problem is the car in combation with this track. Given the insane speed and downforce that the car has and that you after the S luck chicane part will be on full throttle for a very extended period, the need to lotto yourself through the chicane is unavoidable. That 16’076 was “only” a S2 time of 21.961. When I on the one and only lap I perfectly lotto’d myself through it that same S2 was 21.673 (-0,288: RIDICULOUS). Hitting split three (the top after the long right with the kerb ahead of the downhill esses) at 55’114. My PB was a long and far away 55’401 at that split. That was my one opportunity but I failed in keeping my head cold enough and failed that perfect lap on one of the easiest corners of them all, the final one. Unbelievable. The disappointment and disbelief at that very moment is difficult to put into words. I did keep going for a little while but once that happened it pretty much completely obliterated all motivation and intensity I had at the time and I knew it was already over.

I may have to give it up too here, I had 10 invalidated laps Saturday, so after that I was like, "I've already got bronze, if I have to sell several cars to make up the difference from the gold prize then so be it." I wonder where we'll be going next?

My predictions are either St Croix, Michelin Raceway, Grand Valley Highway or Monza.

1 hour to go and holding on by the skin of my teeth, I think this will be the smallest margin gold I've managed haha.....

interestingly, when I went to the website, the next 4 events were revealed… but without the cars as the pictures aren’t there.

I won’t list them here in case folks like the surprise 😉
We don't like surprises 🤣 it will end up here anyway

Next week at spa is going to be a blast on sports mediums.

The next is at Trial mountain on Racing Hards

The following at Nurb Gp on Sports Hards

Collected my price for the runs in the Bugatti, ending up at 184, happy with that roulette runs.

Then ofcourse went back to sliding around on Deep Forest, i was a little more consistent in S1 now, but man, i was fighting the last corner all session today.
i had somany good runs until that, threw away somany PB's on that exit, it's so delicate.

But i think i'm officially done with it now, i'm fed up with it, reached page one tho!

Not satisfied because i had 3 days, 3 sessions, with a lot better optimums,
today's sheet

Did find some time on the board and prob for a short amount of time i'm in the top 100 for this one, should last a hour or so :lol:
Finally in the 8xx's but i had to work for it like crazy.

So an avarage S1 and S3 but nice 2nd sector netted me a 1:44.822 ( i'm sorry @half_sourly  )

First day of vacation for me, and I jumped into the Fuji TT first thing in the morning so I could enjoy the rare sight of being on top of my Friends Ranking 😅

I think it's a combination that suits me, it is certainly one that I like. Managed an early 1:28.924, which is currently gold by half a second, but I guess won't hold. But that's ok, I made many mistakes and there is a lot of potential.

Well I seem to be in a minority if not the only person to actually love the Bugatti in Kyoto and after trying it last night; hate the Mustang at DF 🤣🤣 Neuro-divergent perhaps (or as my gf says, ‘neuro-spicy’)

Powered by mainly wine and beer with soil in it I managed to get a new PB last night which hopefully put me back in the top 100. Great to be up in the upper echelons and remind @Gomario JSP that I do still have the skills to pay the bills (amazing time mate, I still have no idea how you did that on a controller 🤣)

Onwards and upwards, more high downforce is fine with me 😎😎😎

We have all said big THANK YOU many times for the work you do, and the IMPACT of your work is now clear, all members on leaderboard are either in gold or silver on Deep Forest Shelby TT, not a single bronze medal, which means all are improving thank to you pushing everyone with your numbers. AMAZING to see!!!

That's very kind of you, thank you. But I can't take credit for other drivers' skills; that's all down to their efforts, with @Gomario JSP's morning routine setting the example.

And some of the results are down to cats, apparently. Much as I'd like to be a better driver, I don't want it bad enough to think about getting a cat; they cannot be trusted...

Then again.... i'm prob the only fool getting 5 day per week up early at 05:45 AM to race timetrials until 8:00 AM and then hurry to start working at 8:30 AM ....

if you think of it.... it's nuts...  i have a sleepless timetrial life right now :banghead::banghead:

I'm sure if you would put the same efford in you would be miles ahead of me :boggled::boggled:

thanks mate for the work, you realy have made those trials alive!

Not realy looking forward to Fuji to be honest, i know it's an iconic track but the last sector feels like the designer had a mental breakdown ..it's just akward.
We will be lapping the NSX again just as we did at Suzuka.

But by the looks of the trackguides above it's not going to be that difficult to gold with that amount of grip but those bollards are going to kill us...

I'll prob have a go at it tonight on Remote for a first look, and then tomorrow a first session

Good luck guys :)
