Yeah, I know exactly what you mean...

I've been experiencing exactly this for two days, like Groundhog Day...

I think the grounhog would probably set a faster time the me... Shall we call it B-Spec Bob the groundhog 😂
It's all mechanical grip with this car. It rolls better through a corner. Easy inputs with brakes and acceleration and less easy with the steering but still trying to keep it from wagging or washing at the limit is the fastest way. It's twitchy.

Also, turn off ASM. That gained me an immediate second when I did. Countersteer assist off as well.
I only had TC1 on 1 or 0 depending how I felt each try.

Tried ABS on all settings but preferred it on weak.

ASM and countersteer assist I didn't bother with as the car is too slow to need it.

I'm struggling with understeer more than anything which is losing time when I'm trying to set up corner entry and then affects my exit speed.

I managed to get the hairpin nailed but that downhill left directly after is where I lose a lot of time due to understeer and a poor exit (or a bollard 😂).

I hope that I can earn silver on Fuji, but I had 6 invalidated laps out of a 8 lap session, so idk about it yet. It's just a frustrating track, there's so many turns and corners and not enough room on the track to decide where to go next.

I hope 2024 I can catch up on the gold medals, I've only earned 2.

That downhill left is the hardest corner on track I reckon, a constant pain in the proverbial. It's more of a poo than Pouhon itself!

Afternoon fellas!!

That’s it for me for 2023, no improvement today but just enjoying a fantastic game that I have loved playing every day that I can; it’s been one hell of a year personally, starting off in pretty dire circumstances but happy to report that things have improved dramatically as the year has gone (just like my driving in GT7 :D)

I’m so glad I discovered this forum at the start of the year, the hints, tips, encouragement and camaraderie just add to an incredible game IMO so thank you all for being here and posting and making everyone feel so at home! (I haven’t had a drink honest, the German beer is on ice though :cheers:)

See you all in 2024, it’s been a blast!!

There is so much time in that corner. Good exit speed there will turn a lap around. I use third through the hairpin and shift into fourth on the short straight between, and a small press of the brake right before turn in to load the front end just a little and scrub a touch of speed. Hard early turn in. That works for me there. (About once in ten, but it does work!) 😂

Target acheived here too (being ahead on Papy @smoothbore12 on Spa before 01/01/2024): 2:43.091 :dopey:
Sector 1:
0:45.720

Sector 2: 1:14.365

Sector 3: 0:43.006

My 1st sector is "almost" fine now. Of course, it can be improved to sub 0:45 but La Source, Eau Rouge and le Raidillon are no more an issue.
The 2nd sector is still "complicated", but I'm faster on the hairpin (Rivage), in the left turn right after and on Pouhon (mini 140km/h). The problem is after Pouhon till Stavelot. I'll work on this part and improve it.
Surprisingly, it's on the latest sector I've gained the most. Blanchimont is over 200km/h and the Bus Stop is maybe a bit conservative but always safe.

Gold is now at 0.5 sec. and I have few days to grab it.

ATTACK!!!

I also wanted to seriously and sincerly thank @330_D @P-Courty @Evilmuffin @Barareklam @GlockPants @Gomario JSP @zaxs @smoothbore12 (yes) @Lomic @Jeje6410 @Wilsonson @crome @Gorefast (sorry if I've missed to mention some awesome dudes in this list) for their help, their advices, their tips, their answers, their ghosts, their humour, their kindness on this thread about TTs. You are all fabulous!!

May 2024 be the most beautiful year for you and the ones you care and love.

GT7 has come to life for me this year with getting involved in the TTs.

Before this year I don't think I even touched sport mode, I just drifted in lobby's, joined a few races and made liverys.

It kicked off with the Gazoo Cup that I really enjoyed and that gave me the push to run the TTs, and with following this thread with all of the support, help, replays and laughs that it has brought I have got stuck into it.

Outside of GT7 TTs, IRL I have had a few lessons in drifting and have been getting my little weekend toy ready for some trackdays in 2024 (even the missus wants to drive it on track 😍).

Thank you all and enjoy your new year celebrations.

To all of you guys,

What a year of competition this was, not for me alone, man some of you guys have grown to be serious buissines.
GT7 and this thread has almost been a part of life, each day waking up and check the boards, who has done what who got faster?

Thanks for all the replays, ghost to follow ( I'm looking at you @djolliea ( I can't see that PSVR2 plate anymore 🤣)
For the kind words, and especially the nice approach of everybody here, non toxic and very kind

I learned a lot this year! As a lot of you did looking at your times, awesome guys!

Let's fight another year and help each other achieve their goals!
Thanks!

And thanks to all the moderators for guiding this site the right way outstanding job if you ask me, thanks for that!

Happy newyear!

I agree, Famine and Jordan has done an excellent job keeping this active and clean, I am always looking forward to getting up everyday and knowing what events are in store and who has crushed the leaderboards. So I hope I can keep studying the pro's replays and learn the necessary skills to earn all gold medals. Durn, I've got 32 bronze, and 14 silver. So I am still, after 2 and a half years of driving, drifting and racing I still find myself slow in some aspects of the game.

So, let's all get our beer, wheels and controllers ready for the New Year's Eve/Day party.

Good progress at Spa to close out 2023. Gold time and into the top 1000! With still a few tenths on the table, too.

After studying the fastest available replay, I realized I can be a lot more aggressive throwing the little 4C around some of the turns here. It's really quite a compliant car.

No jagermeister required, thankfully!

An aside, I'd like to mirror a lot of the recently shared sentiment on this thread. I'm very happy to have such a welcoming and supportive community amongst doom posts and saltiness. It's a breath of fresh air among online communities and you all are a terrific group of mates. I'm looking forward to next year and all it brings and the progress each of us will achieve!

And if the German brew is good for 0.5, PROST!
