Last try at Fuji tonight:
View attachment 1316404

The optimal went down to 28.1 and it felt like it was coming, but I just couldn't pull off three decent sectors together.
This small improvement came from yet another good exit out of the last corner after stuffing sector 2. sigh
Well I gave up on it, got a time of 1'31.955 and that's going to have to do for now. Don't have anymore extra time to spend on it tonight.

No worries at all! Really fun combo!

Jumped back on and got it down to a .5, 37's will definitely be hit by some this week, suspect 37.7 probably is an absolute limit but will be REALLY difficult to get for the aliens.
I just came to back to this comment to say .7 is difficult for aliens but not difficult for humanity 🤣🤣 first half of the lap was much worse than my previous ghost, so I would say low .6 is achievable 😁. I wont go for a .6 tho unless I get a battle.

Unbelievable effort mate! At least I wasn't far off with what I could see there :D!

For anyone interested in this weeks time trial, I've done the guide for you! Always enjoy Gr.3 Trial Mountain and this gives me memories of Gran Turismo 1!

Done a few Eau Rouge practices this morning, on some occasions I've managed to go through lifting much less than before but it did not convert into better lap times for now. As I was getting frustrated really quick, I rapidly switched to something else.

And to add salt to injury, I am out of silver too now...

Did one lap to try the new TT, ended up in bronze with a 2:00.775 despite oversteering in quite a few spots. I like this combo too.

Throw a lap video here and we will take a look. From what you were describing, you could be over driving the car. Brake 1/2 a car length earlier and instead going from 0 to 100% braking force instantly, slow it down a bit (maybe 1/2 a second?). Also, not all corners need 100% braking.
Thank you Mr Muffin for your reply and offer of help.......also, record then post here a video, I don't know how to do it, but I promise to give the 4C another chance by the end of this TT.

in any case, I need to get better at driving cars with this behavior, because there are more and more of them.....and even 4WDs......

I know that you have to slow it down before you put it in gear, otherwise you get too much rotation and end up like me, on the grass.....
I can do it, but ....is it my old age(?), sometimes I forget.....it has to become natural....,

but that's also why I liked the NSX, because it doesn't react like that.....
and I've just seen Tidgney's video at Trial M, and I think I'm going to like the GT500.....😅

thanks again.....:gtpflag:

First test in Trual Mountain and get gold with 1'54'112.
It's one of my favorite circuits with the legendary GT car. It's a circuit where I prepared my tunes in GT6 which I published in my garage. So if all goes well I hope to do even better. 🤞🤞

Wow congrats, that's very promissing!

Yes Trial mountain is an iconc GT circuit and we are legion to love it especially with the Supra GT500 <3
The key to make a good score is the speed at the beginning of the long straigth.

ATTACK!!!

If the Fuji TT didn't give you that problem then it does sound like you brake too much too fast. While you do want to get 100% as quickly as you can, the fine print is "as fast as the suspension can react". The Alfa, being a road car, doesn't have rock hard suspension like those race cars. It is not bad, but jamming on the brake and getting to 100% braking instantly is going to upset the car. Come to think of it ...it does make me wounder how on earth did @Dolph Drago get those crazy fast time by using buttons :dunce:

As for getting a video up, you don't have to share it here. You can simply save your fastest lap replay, then share it in showcase. Let us know the search keyword and we can look it up.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trial: Everything Must Go

A new Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trial event is now available, marking the first such event in 2024 and bringing the biggest of Gran Turismo nostalgia hits along with it...
As much as I love Spa this new TT is even more fun for me. So I leave belgium after only 8 laps and silver to revive my memories with this classic race car. No surprise as we knew this for over a week now but nonetheless great! See you there... 🏁

I did a little chart for myself that plots my performance (in terms of percentiles) vs. the cut-off percentiles for gold, silver and bronze for all TTs that I participated in ... maybe also something for the personal results report 👋 @half_sourly ;)

Main take-aways:
  1. As has been mentioned many times, the GTP leaderboard does not reflect the overall player base at all. Silver is regularly only achieved by a minority of players, and gold is properly rare. Never forget that.
  2. You guys are awesome, you can clearly see when I joined the leaderboard at TT 33, I have pretty much* improved ever since, thanks to you!
  3. I really hit my stride with TT 47 (Gr. 1 in Atlanta) where, out of the blue, I suddenly scratched the top 1,000. To this day I don't really know how that happened 😅. Since then I almost* always stayed in the top 5%
  4. * I HATE the Lambo VGT, and Lake Louise 😂
Keep it up in 2024, guys!

Could'nt wait to go back to Trial Mountain with the Supra, what a magic combo!

But first, I've practiced a bit with the Mazda RX Concept (just because....).
And guess what? I've found a gold mine in these rocky mountains :dopey:

GOD (Grumpy Old Dude) is behind me and that's very satisfying

So, I gave a try to Miss Supra and got a good silver at 1:55.6xx just after 3 laps.
I need to practice more because the Toy' is a Brazilian dancer compares to the Mazda...

ATTACK!!!

So I think I'm moving on from Spa. This new combo just feels so nice.

First day, no lap guides or ghosts yet. The only thing I did was work on the CE (great lap @Pesselles!). That Mazda Vision is hot garbage compared to the GT500 Supra around this track, much more planted.

I only had time for 10 laps or so, and I'm only just into Gold. The time will surely come down, but I have a lot more time in me.

OHHHH that's very kind of you, thank you so much :embarrassed: but your CEs sectors are better, as your TT.

You're right, there's no comparison possible between the Mazda (fake road car) with its sound of a food processor from the 70s and the iconic Toyota (real race car) which is perfect on any track.

Congrats for your gold  and I'm sure you'll seriously improve it in the next hours/days.
