Still on track! :D

Seriously though, there should be at least a few more tenths out there for me. I watched @Gomario JSP 's replay and noticed that I am not even 0.3 seconds behind him after the first two sectors, but then I lose almost a second in the last. Will study the replay some more to see what I'm doing wrong, although I have a strong suspicion that I'm simply too late on the throttle in the final chicane. Anyway, here's my lap, also shared in-game.

💯, no pain no gain :) ... so keep fighting!

I am using 3rd in the final chicane. Worth a lot.

@crome You lost a hugh chunk of time at the entry of that downhill right at the beginning of sector 3. It looks like you didn't turn the steering fast enough so instead of trail braking to the right, you ended up still trail braking to the left for that kink at the top of the hill. It yanked the car to all sort of wrong place and compromised everything.

As for me....another 20 laps. Another small improvement. Maybe it is the livery. Going to try gold rims tomorrow :dunce:

Note the previous lap time....I licked the wall by a pixel 🫠

Happy New Year (belatedly) to everyone here. Hope you all had the chance for some R&R with family.

First 30 laps for me of this TT as I spent what limited seat time I had this week running Daily Race B at Suzuka in the 911.

Managed to get into Gold but there’s tenths bleeding away everywhere!!

Edit: friends round for dinner, nice food and a small alcoholic beverage consumed and then back to the track 4 hours later for a nice 0.8 gain over the first session. Not sure how much more there is in the tank on this, but would be awesome to get into the 51’s…

Went on spa this morning, well took me three attemp to get to bronze , long way to go to get gold 🤣🤣.
Silver should be a quite easy goal but not sure i will try more than that, anyway thank to all that post give me the Idea to try 😉✌️
Edit :
Went with the supra and got bronze at second try , same that spa should do for silver but gold seem a bit far for the moment.
I really struggle to place the car with the controller .

Busy days have started again for me, so a little less GT7 time for me, did run about 10 laps of TM this morning, last 2 laps were ok-ish but the fast laps were not there.
Very frustrated because i had a bunch of realy bad corners on my PB, i'm consistently faster on those now, but now it's S1 that kills me every time..... and i'm beginning to be frustrated more and more and trying less and less...

I know if i have one sort of optimal lap i'm around 51.5 but it just doesn't come...
But that's the same for @Evilmuffin and @Dolph Drago i asume.

I have no clue how we all have such a hard time with this??, non of us are close to a top 100.

Maby i'll have one more morning session, but i'm glad when i can shift to GP-layout trial...

@Boabdulrahman ... come on man, your making us look stupid and very bad at it with that time    :bowdown:

Thanks a lot guys, will try this as soon as I can

Just getting back to these TT's after being away on holiday since the start of December! Loving the Alfa at Spa, but can anyone give me any tips to find some more time? I'm currently sitting on a 2:43.5XX and need to extract another second to sneak into gold zone.
Don't be scared to throw the car into a corner when trail braking and let off the throttle for longer than you think so the car can stabilise then go full throttle out of the corner.

Oh and makes friends with the bollards before you go for a flying lap 👍🏻

I don't know if you are driving manual or automatic, but the torque falls off quiet early and you could gain some time by using higher gears than expected and shifting at about 6250 rpm (first small bar after 6k). For myself I only use 3rd, 4th and 5th gear for acceleration, 2nd gear only short time under braking for T1 and the last chicane, but switch already back to 3rd before applying power.

Throw in your lap mate and we will have a look :)
I didn't save the replay. I'll have another crack tonight and if I match or better my time I'll save the replay and post it here.

Thanks! I'll check those out! Found it really confusing why I kept getting invalidated laps - then worked out those green bollard things are a DQ if you so much as sniff them!

Oh, nice tip! I'm using manual, so I'll definitely have another go and short-shift.

Have you checked videos posted here that show how to get gold? In that case where do you think you are losing time? If it's Eau Rouge, you don't need to lift off so much there. Also car allows to exit many corners in higher gear and your can gain valuable time there too. Try that.

A bit more progress today in the Supra. The sectors individually are beginning to make sense, but putting a good/valid time across each is still a challenge.

Today, I felt like I was most inconsistent through S2. Specifically, the left before the back straight is hit or miss.

I felt like I was in a good groove toward the end of my stint, so I went a bit longer than usual hoping for that miracle lap that never materialized. But 0.2 seconds over yesterday's time is pretty good.

In there a little more. Today I saw the most progression yet in the deep territory. My optimals show plenty of time and I have no problem keeping up with @h0ll01 in spits and spats through the individual sectors but keeping it all together for a good one is hard. Although today I found a bit of time just tightening up two corners. The final... entry speed into the first of the two on the chicane seems most important. 51 is about as fast as I can do it and it gains so much time. Literally found a quarter second doing that. Also shift points through the first high speed esses after the long front straight are absolutely crucial. Those two corners can gain or lose a whole lap. Happy grinding all!

Also to add... shifting to 4th early like @Tidgney says works very well but you have to absolutely nail your entry speed and shift points. I'm personally faster in 3rd coming out of a few of them. It may just be my driving style, though. I pretty much never let go of the brake. It steers and settles the car so much in dips and dives and over rises. If able, that's a big time gain as well. Also you can hear where the rpms in gear are and load up the turbo and release the brake and it accelerates very hard in third where the ghost always pulls away. Short shifting. Key. 3/4 of the Rev bar in 4th, shift to 5th in the tunnel straight up the hill. Another tenth or two depending on where you've been with that sector.

Another night, another 3 tenths (well almost) shaved off :) ... mainly thanks to @Evilmuffin 's advice regarding the 3rd sector! I am definitely beginning to hit the ceiling of what's possible for me though.

This continues to be a very very fun combo for me. Not the best I have ever ranked, but I love the challenge, I love the fact that it rewards me with gradual improvements pretty much every session (I realise this experience is not shared by everyone here), and above all I love how close the race currently is. For example, at the moment there are 8 (eight!) players including myself in my friends list within the span of just 24 hundredths, which is pretty crazy. So come on @peniu , @Jeje6410 , @kowalski__1 , @half_sourly , @SPL170db , @Gogga , @zaxs and of course everybody else: put up a fight :D

Well,i am .002 ahead of you,so pick it up a little eh!

This is one of those fun and at the same time super frustrating TT's. I picked up a couple tenths tonight, my first gain since the first day. Not quite into the 51's and honestly not sure I'll get there. I'm less than a tenth away, but it seems like a mile. It didn't help when my cellphone rang just as I was about to enter the final chicane and I about jumped out of my pants! What unbelievable timing!

Evening all… 140 miles in the Supra this evening. No improvement in PB although I came within 0.025 on a clean lap, but beat it by a tenth on a dirty lap (of which there were many) and pulled optimals down to 1:52.0 which is encouraging. Starting to get consistency in sector 1 and speed as well (saw a 30.6) and whereas yesterday my PB was a step above my average over the whole lap, I’m now running around 0.4 faster typically… just need to string it all together!! Thanks to @330_D for the shift point knowledge 👍

Just glad to be in the 52's... barely :D
Not done yet, now we aim for the 51's :lol::lol:
Agreed that this combo is fun. Its challenging because all the sectors are tricky. Ive had countless times where I have had good first and second sectors, then I end up binning it in the 3rd. Frustrating is not the word, but fun none the less.

Yeah, I totally agree. I'm far out of my usual ranking but nonetheless it is still a good fun. Maybe it's not me who is wrong but you WHO are all a lot faster than me...

The car is great, plausible and challenging at the same time. To reach a silver ranking would be a great success for me. I have more ghosts of this one as CoD but I can only admire your skills fron the (growing) distance...

Keep at it. Practice makes perfect.
Some of the guys here have insane skills and are stupidly fast in these time trials. Just being part of this discussion makes me want to put a lot more effort into lowering my times. Previously, I would get a safe gold and be content, but now I fight for milliseconds.
