Just wanted to pop by and say thanks to those who advised a direct drive wheel was manageable with a playseat challenge!
Interesting. I have a Playseat Challenge and G29 - you've had no issues using the Challenge with the Pro? It feels sturdy enough?
I used to run my DD GT Pro on a Playseat challenge and the biggest upgrade I could do to it was bolting it all down to a sheet of plywood/mdf. I described it here: #71

This solidifies your pedals and stops the seat from lifting which improves your braking performance and consistency enormously. The wheel tray is still somewhat flexy mind you. I ended up replacing the whole thing with an 8020 Aluminum rig and that is a whole new level.

Back to the TT. I may breakdown and have a go with the Supra rather than the F-Type. I really want to get into the to 2%. I was at 2.12% last night though I'm sure that moved this morning...

I was holding off for a few years until our next house move to get one but was frustrating me. It's not perfect but using a set up online and only 6nm so far (remember a higher output wheel managers a lower output better than a lower output wheel) and it's honestly such an improvement. Probably will get the reinforcements later down the line but it's already an upgrade. Love it

Hovered around 1.8-2seconds off the aliens normally on time trial after a good few laps.

5 days into the Logitech pro (15% off in UK, no import fees and seemingly better service than fanatec) and I'm already down to 1.4 this time. First time ever on a longish lap!

Feedback so far would say it's worth it if your already in the realm of b/a and above and minimal assists as you can really feel the transfer of weight and limits rather than learning to predict them. Unsure how viable it would be if your not really into it

Either way the fact I'm faster means my purchase feels somewhat validated 😂

Please feel free to add me for leaderboards

Ps. The quality of the wheels and pedal feels amazing
also upgraded to the logitech pro recently (from 923). Yeah...the difference is night and day. The first time I tried it out in the civic TT I was immediately 2/10s faster within 10 laps....so much for the "getting used to it" period.

I feel like the higher the car's limit, the bigger the difference between the wheels. In some of the more powerful cars like F40, Carrera GT etc....I'm a good 15 seconds faster at the nurburgring with the pro wheel.

Put in 8 (I think) laps at Autopolis today. Was fairly easy to get into gold range. I like autopolis, and went out in the 458 GR4 which is a very balanced, if not a little understeer prone, car. I had never driven the 458 GR4 and have heard good things about it, so I went and picked one up, made a quick livery and headed out. At a 1:55.7 at the moment, but there is a lot more time to be made up with some more lapping. 53-54s should be attainable, and I haven't looked to see what kind of track abuse may be implemented by the fast players yet.

Will probably make more time for this one to try out the MP4 and Supra to see if the more meta cars have a marked advantage over the Ferrari.

Meh....I can't seem to yank the Viper through the last sector in any kind of reasonable fashion. I might be able to do 54.1s if I keep at it, but I question if I would ever get it under 54s....

Decided to test some other cars just to see how they drive.

GTR....pretty good actually, at less it rotates a lot better than the Viper and Corvette.

Mustang....surprising good, I got a few 54.3s in about 5 to 6 laps. 2nd gear is scary tho!

S15 Silvia.....this one is a surprise. It drives nice amd all, but I keep finding myself losing time everywhere. Not sure what the deal is...but I barely able to get it into the 54s.

Cayman.....well, I was just flinging it arround and managed this time by the 3rd lap. I feel like I can get it into the 53s.

Well, I hopped into the TT before reading all the posts in the thread and went immediately to the meta. Whoops, sorry!

I didn't watch @Tidgney or theKie's lap guides before making my run. My instincts were almost right. I stayed in 4th in the long left between the hairpins as well as turn 13. Shifting to 3rd may help me a bit with more rotation. I was also short shifting. I think my brain was still in Genesis mode... It looks like they're hitting the rev limiter before shifting. Other than that, the lap could have been better if not for so-so hairpins.

And I was proud of myself seeing who I was above until I realized they weren't using the meta. :P And it is still only day 1. And the Muffin Man has already improved his time with a new car (though still just below me). And... :D

Yay I'm on your board!

I had another session at Autopolis to crack two goals. Get into the 1:54s and to get sub 2%. At first I was driving like a donkey thinking I wasn't going to do it and then I found some flow like a tsunami wave hit me and I was carried along with it :D

I think that is my best ever result. I had to do it. Had to prove to those that laughed at me for taping over my time delta that I wasn't crazy! :gtpflag:

My optimal still puts me nearly 2 tenths quicker. Now to try this in a different car for my UK account...

Two laps tonight with a meta? car... I didn't even warm up. Just knocked 6 tenths off in 4 minutes. 🤯😂
Had a very similar experience but with the F Type - 3 laps and a 55.2.

Couldn't get on with the McLaren actually, not sure why. 55.2 is probably going to be safe, motivation to go back is low. These cars are too easy!

A few ....or many.....miles later, I can rest.....I finally got the GT-R into the 53's....
Not the best lap and I missed two fairly crucial apexes aswell, the uphill sharp left I ran wide so lost a tenth there, and S3 wasn't all that great either but enough 🤣
I turned of the PS5 after invalidating a blue -0.180 on the very last corner....

I finally drove my first stint in Autopolis yesterday.
I chose the Supra first, as it's the Gr. 4 car I had the most experience with.
The first half of the lap is really fun, but everything after the hairpin is really difficult for me, I just can't find the right flow in the last sectors. I threw away so many good laps in the last corner.

I ended up with a 1:53.249.
A thousandth of a second faster than Kimi, er, a certain Finn called @djolliea.
But I bet that didn't last long.
Maybe I can find another 2 tenths if I can get the last sector under control.

You are seriously improving your laptimes here!, few days and you are in the 53's 😳😳
Seems very stable that 650!

Well done sir! 😁💪💪
Thanks a lot my friend. Yes this 650S is very stable and very pleasant to drive. I don't know if I could be in the 53's but I'm trying . And you too had a great ride with the GT-R 👏👏👏

Saturday morning I had the time to kill, so it was TT day 1 at Autopolis. My weapon of choice was the Viper. And things were looking good today. Not so many laps and I was within the silver window with consistent laps. I pushed a little bit more and got down to 57,1. Even with a lap where I made few mistakes here and there.

I'll try to improve my time there another day with another car.

Best lap replay shared.
