Ran 10 or 20 laps at Autopolis in the Corvette and Ferrari and got 1:55.901 with the Ferrari (1:56.1xx with the Vette), just outside of gold. I think I must be overdriving. I need to come back later after a break and watching some replays and maybe follow a ghost around to see where I can improve. Looking forward to also trying some other cars as well. Gold is definitely achievable.

Got gold last night in the Suzuki for the challenge of it. Absolutely not safe, but I just wanted to see if I could do it, considering I feel awful with FF cars.

I'm questioning myself about this....
Is it better to follow an alien/semialien ghost that disappears quickly or whatever ghost 1s quicker than me, with the risk of following bad teachers?

Oh yes, reset was embedded. Problem is that in this tt I need help on the last turn of the section, the ghost is already gone
I like to study the replays of the ghosts I load before. If there is anything wrong with what the ghost does, you can try to figure it out there.

I also watch the replays of others here. Even if it's not exactly what the WR lap does, maybe they'll do something that works better for me or is easier to replicate.

I used to follow slower ghosts, but now I load the fastest one available.

I think better to follow something aspirational for you but not ludicrous, depending on your speed. For example, at Monza I have been following @Tidgney because he is faster than me but I can follow his ghost ok, more or less. Anyone faster and I lose touch, it's demoralising.

Either the best ghost or your own. If you struggle with the best, make it reset. I would say use your own for a while until you feel impossible to beat yourself, then use the best ghost + your own combined and observe the ghosts and see where you can work on to improve

Noooooo are you going to cheat that fast?! 🤣🤣

Try the GTR ...very steady and mega out of the slower corners, you can just floor it

Just did 5 laps in the Merc, that was quite fun and a totally different caracter then the GTR ofcours... tailhappy 🤣, did run a 54.0 though, so it's def quicker than the Nissan but a lot more work to be fast 🤣

Ill move to another again when I sub 54 it 🤣

Well...I decided to give the SLS a go too and ended up getting into the 53s! Then I saw it is also at the top of the leaderboard 🤣 So much for non meta.....

what about an alien ghost that resets at each sector ?
This would be a great feature!

In any case, I ran another stint. Tried the Supra this time, and also tried to chill out and not overdrive :)

I have to say I'm happy with the results, although it took me too many tries to get under 1:35 LOL. Not sure how much is left in this for me, but if I have time I'll try other cars with the same strategy and see if I can knock off another 0.5 seconds or so.

I had another go with the AMG SLS on my UK account.

Got it down to a 1:54.654 which is +1.93% or 1714th.

I wasn't screen recording for this one, so exited out to record the replay, only to realize that I exited before saving best lap. Idiot! :banghead:

This time was only 0.085s slower than my F-Type best.

I also tried a few other cars but no others have got into the 54s yet. Closest was the Supra (after about 5 laps) which got to a few thousandths of that.

I may be done on this TT. For Monza, I'm a 4%. I don't see me getting into gold on that one as it just frustrates me, so may go back to other things in the game..

Unsatisfied with the Swifts time, so swapped to another car to get a safer time.
Chose the Hyundai, as thats always been a bit naff in GT7, and got a comfy 54.3.

A 53 is definitely possible, but the way this car drives - I don't want to do it! Its performance is fine but the base setup for this thing is atrocious.

I bet it'll be a right little beast in any daily race using gr.4 with tuning though, I'll be keeping it in mind.

Another Thursday ,another gold, haven't tried the new TT yet, was out getting supplies,as i don't think my 64 year ole arse will be going any where for a week,i'll have lots of time to play,,forecast says 75cm of snow coming over the next four days,

:boggled:
Update:So,we are not getting 75cm,whenever it stops Tuesday afternoon,we will probably have around 130-140cm ,it's being called the biggest snow event ever recorded in this area, going back to the late 1800s....Happy Racin'

Just outside of gold at Monza - why did I know I would have to drive the POS Genesis VGT again! :banghead: 133 miles later, I think, I am finally safe.

I absolutely LOVE 'Turn opolis' and GR.4 cars...2 laps in the Ferrari and a very safe gold time. Once I am confirmed safe at Monza, I will go for my PB finish in the Ferrari. I am also looking forward to trying more cars as well to see if I can improve my Ferrari time.

I meant to make a run yesterday but was too tired as I had a busy day. After having run the Supra on Thursday, I decided to try the SLS tonight. This thing is nice! :dopey: While the Supra is very twitchy, the Merc is super stable in the turns. I never feel out of control. Turn 12 got me again. I just didn't quite get in right and had to wait to get back on the accelerator. I also felt I lost time in the final turn. Oh well, it was enough to get into the 53's. I may try out some other cars throughout this TT.

And I'm right in the middle of an @Evilmuffin and @Gomario JSP sandwich. Who would have guessed?

Edit: Almost forgot. Is someone here docsnyder? I got a friend request but wasn't sure who it was. I will add you next time I log on if so.

Hey folks… busy week at work and busy day with the kids today has meant I’m a late starter to the new Gr4 event at Autopolis. Had a few laps last night to warm up in the Cayman but just couldn’t brake late enough, couldn’t get on the power and was struggling to get below two minutes - turns out IM tires are no good 😂 🤦‍♂️

Had an hour or so this evening and ran through the Aston Martin, Jag and McLaren in 10 lap stints, and wound up with a 1:54.170 in the 650S.

Moved onto the Supra, but man it’s a slippery sucker after the McLaren! Only managed a couple of laps so will pick it up again tomorrow along with the SLS.

I've stayed away from this thread for a bit this week as the kitten strikes again 😭😂

So I have had to build a little cupboard to house the wifi and the cables to the tv stand to stop the little f🤬r.

I now have no power plugs for my wifi routers and Sky have decided to use a different size jack plug to those you can buy so will see if I can make one up with the pieces I have left so that I can get onto these two current TT's.

The culprit now being sheepish

First time at Autopolis today and damn, what a great track. Probably the most fun TT in a while for me.

For today’s session I didn’t the circuit experience and 20 or so laps, and managed a (hopefully) safe gold time in the canary yellow AMG of 1:54.712.

I’m hoping I can pull off a high 1:53 by the end of the TT period. Any tips?

Woke up this morning seeing myself taking a beating on the board?! ..... @Dolph Drago putting himself sandwich again with a good sub 54, congrats mate!

I also took my orange smurky Mercky out of the garage and oiled it up again, put some stars on it, maby the planets align on it who knows....

I could not get the damn thing into the 53 the first hour, and tankslapped my way around the forlast corner quite a bit, frustrated to the bone, it's like super stable, but on elevations it bites you in the ass, but satisfying when you nail it....optimum to dream of, but had a fairly descent one at the end 😁

@Evilmuffin ....

Finally into the .7xx with a 1:53.762
A .5xx is definitely possible seeing the OPT. But man..... it's hard work...
Too 100 seems 100% out of reach here! 😭😂

As i said, short shift is important for the McLaren.
Use every inch of the track, go as far on the outside as possible before entering the corner, so you don't need slow down to much when reaching the apex.
Thank you for your advice my friend @Ed_Night . It's true that for my first laps on Autopolis I changed the gears mid-lap but by pushing them I made better times. I'll try to go back then but unfortunately I don't have time to try this until next Friday. I see that all my friends are dropping their stopwatches quite quickly below 1'54 and congratulations to them.👏👏👏
I think if I had the opportunity to play more during the week it would be easier. I went from 1'55'948 to 1'54'559 in just 2 days. I'm very happy with it, but being a perfectionist it's not enough for me !!!! 🤣🤣
