Perhaps it's blasphemous, but I'm starting to enjoy driving the Genesis X.

I only managed a couple hundredths improvement today, but my optimal lap is a 38.0 ... I think a 38.2 or .3 is possible.

I don't see a 37 working out.

All I see is so much red. You enjoy driving a car that invalidates everything your do? :D :D

Hi fellas, my "just 2 Cents advice" for those who struggle in the Autopolis TT: Try the Alfa 155.

I'm an average driver compared to our resident aliens, using Controller-Sticks for steering and brake/throttle and AT, every driving-aid off except ALS to weak, but still managed a 1:54,395.

Usually I prefer FR-cars, but this beauty is my favourite. I tried most of the Group 4-cars and in my opinion and for my driving style this is the easiest way to go.

PS: Feel free to add me to your friendslist, because I like to see how I perform compared to others.

Feel free to add me on PSN :-)
Alfa 155 was next on my list to try. I now test out a gr. 4 car on Le mans, grab some cash, then use it for this trial. Pretty fun tbh

Gave the Genesis a go and two laps is all I needed to nope the hell out of there. Peaky throttle that I can't do anything with, have to brake a mile early like a freight train. It's just not fun at all. It's everything I hate about hypercars cranked up to the extreme. Way too much power and speed for the chassis and tires given.

Managed a 1:54.8 yesterday but then I forgot to save my replay 🙈, so I had to come back, and I'm glad I did :)

Reading this thread I feel like the 458 isn't getting enough love, so I'll make it my mission to change that. I mean, just listen to this thing.

I tried some other cars as well, but e.g. the F-Type sounds like a tractor in comparison :D
Jk, it's great that there are so many competitive choices for this one.

Btw, feeling very pleased with myself after this lap, I thought I'd use the momentum for one more attempt in Monza.

...yeah, that was a bad idea, let's leave it at that

Thanks for this tip! I too drive with the same system as you and am struggling to break into silver. I'm 100th of a second away in my Clubsport and can't find it. I'll try the 155 tomorrow.

Hi everyone! I've been playing gt7 for 1 year, and historically have been a sport mode player. Since the Spec II update, however, I'm rather bored of the OP/meta cars so I have been enjoying other aspects of the game. Last week I stumbled upon this thread (in lieu of my usual Dailies or Weeklies thread), and it got me inspired. As such, I decided to really give this TT a shot (I'm a big fan of GT4 cars).

Normally I just get my silver after 3 -5 laps and call it a day as gold seems unachievable for me. Well, this week you all inspired me so I gave it the college try. Got silver in the trusty G70 after 3 laps. Today on a different session gave the sticky Jaguar of Ftype 10 laps and hit gold. First one if it stays. Thanks for the inspiration eveyone! Maybe one day I will hit the top 1%

Decent session this evening of around 30 laps. Several 54.1s and I seemed to be faster earlier in each stint before over driving and tensing up. Took a deep breath and tried again… the second hairpin seems completely hit and miss to me still but I feel like I have a decent grasp of what I need to do on the rest of the lap and it finally came together with this lap in the McLaren. Another nose bleed moment for me and no doubt I’ll slip down as others find their speed, but for now I’m pretty pleased with this one.

Switched back to my main account to do Monza as that was at over 4% since the times improved.

I was only setting times around 1:39.5 with too many spin outs until I realized I was running with no track aids. I switched TCS to 1 and very next lap I got gold. But just, I was at +2.96%.

I then spent an hour trying to get a healthy improvement to make it safe, but I failed. I did manage to shave a whole 0.022s off though for a:

It’s still way too close. Can our resident alien, please take a vacation. Canada is cold this time of year, I hear Venus is nice and warm! How about a trip?

My fairly unimpressive lap…

GT7 | TT 24-05 | Genesis & Monza | Barely sqeaking into gold

After botching the Sky cable yesterday morning to get the wifi working again, I updated some apps and then hit daily race b to start off, which gave my drivers rating a hit as it was a bump fest again.

TT time started with Autopolis which I thought I was going to enjoy after the fun in the Gazoo cup, I do like the track.

First I went with the Supra and couldn't break the gold marker.

Second jumped into the Ferrari and managed 1:56.001 after a few laps but then couldn't improve.

Third I moved onto the Citroën VGT and managed gold within a few laps but only by around .100

Forth I picked on the little plucky Alfa 4C with it being lightweight. What a drastic improvement, third lap in and I hit 1:55.28*. It was a wierd car to drive, 3rd gear is just a little too short to hold before some corners so you have to shift up and then straight back down, also with the hairpins changing down to 1st on entry really brings the car to a halt so had to adjust my braking points to be later and then changing to 2nd at apex really brings the car tight in to the corner.

Fifth, after no more improvement with the Alfa (not being able to string a good full lap together) I headed out in the Merc and within a few laps hit 1:55.001 and that was it for me then, a whole 1sec ahead of my Ferrari time.

Don't think I'll be going back to this one as I just wasn't feeling it. @crome you got me on this one 😂

Oh and I tried Monza 🤦🏻‍♂️ 5 attempts past the first 3 corners then to see Barry R so gave up without doing any full laps at all, really couldn't get to grips with the moon distance braking points so that's going to be the first no go TT for a while.

Dang...people are so fast with these race cars. I'm within the 1.2% and I barely made it into the top 300s 🫠

Didn't really catch up to @Gomario JSP yet....there were a couple code-brown moments but had the best 3rd sector ever.

Hey, don't feel bad mate, 285th is better than 2,850th position, right?

I gave this a hot, super-like. Well done! Thanks for the inspiration!

Dear Supra.....

We had a date this morning.....
We ride together.....
We slide together.....
You have a descent booty..... a real nice ass..
A little squirly when early on the gas....
300km today to feel your power...
but no improvement after more than a hour......

I file divorce now......it ain't going to work honey, no second date.....

20829766315747372.jpg

It's beautifull..... but it Sooooo doesn't suit my driving style....
I wanted it to do this morning and i tried so hard, best i could do after 300km was a 53.980 with it...
were i am consistent 8 and 9's with the SLS, so i think i'm going to stick with that...
I can see why it's the META cause i am A LOT quicker through T1 with the Sup..... and the left uphil after the first hairpin is hugely faster in the Sup, but for me... the rest of the lap is to squirly....don't know if it's a "wheel" thing but i just can't get the power down on exits.

So... @Evilmuffin this is def. your trial, if you master the sup i'm not going to catch you
and @Carlos Fandango congrats with that awesom time you clocked in this morning, you are getting faster and faster!

Like Muffin said.... it's bizar how fast the top split is, we are just over 1% and we are only fighting in the top 300...
that's insane....

Finally, I improved!
With 458 Italia, and it's half second improve, so now I think gold is safe.

1:55.206

Beautiful 458

Yes, for me the Ferrari did it. Still not a new PB but an optimum of 1:55:08. I feel that this time I might reach that area and aim for a sub-55 lap. As @crome already said the 458 deserves some love...

It's not everyone suddenly being fast, it's the cars being so slow and easy to drive it packs everyone together in the leaderboards. It's always like this with Gr.4.

Went back to Monza and try to get back into Gold. Finally did it after 2 sessions and about 40 laps. Optimum was 38.5 even.

Gran Turismo™ 7_20240204203100.jpg

When I first got Gold the WR time was 36.6. Crazy how much time Ebrahim still found.
Oh yea mightve been wrong, cuz i think i can get 35.high9 now. I was up 3 tenths on my .228 ghost but lost alot in final sector and ended up with .135 🥲
Please don't go below 01:35,973 or I will need to come back again.

Perhaps it's blasphemous, but I'm starting to enjoy driving the Genesis X.
You are not alone. It has been and continues to be for me, the most enjoyable TT in a while. It is a challenge, but one that can be overcome with patience, accuracy and a steady right foot. I did 50 miles last Thu at Autopolis to just post a gold time, but have since done many hundreds of miles at Monza. Loving it.

It's always a madhouse with Group 4 cars, you have the aliens using their Supra's and then the others choosing from a big selection of cars and then they smoke everyone out with their hot lap times. That's just the way it works.

That was a nice poem you made about the Supra, @Gomario JSP
Lol, I laughed quite a bit, good swift rhythm.

Monza. Loving it.
I noticed that you liked it 😅

I don't know if I would have more energy and time to devote to this TT but perhaps I haven't said my last word! How much do you drive with the TCS?

Either the best ghost or your own. If you struggle with the best, make it reset. I would say use your own for a while until you feel impossible to beat yourself, then use the best ghost + your own combined and observe the ghosts and see where you can work on to improve
how do you compare the two ghosts?

Gained a bit over the weekend - sorry!

I'm feeling similar. Might leave it and have one last go on Wednesday, we'll see. Certainly won't be today as I've got my usual Monday PC2 racing club.

I started off with TC2 and TC1 on the first few days, but have since gone to zero. As long as you are in the right gear, pointing more or less forward and not too harsh with the right foot, there isn't much wheelspin. But it is a fine line; every now and then out of Rettifilo (first chicane) I'll get wheelspin in 5th because my steering is just slightly too angled.
