After seeing all of your impossible times cough @crome cough - and being low on credits, i've decided to grind the 30 min Le mans for a while to get to know the track better.. Already raked in 7m in the process 😂

Will give this TT a crack again tomorrow, see if it helped!

Yes it's the key !!! 🤣🤣

I know right? This was almost a bit scary, and came sorta out of nowhere. A 0.7 second improvement over my last best lap. Absolutely everything I wanted to do worked here, and then I got so excited I forgot to save the replay 😱

Obviously very happy with the result, and I probably won't be able or even trying to best it. Having said that, it's mind-boggling that this is still almost 4 seconds behind the world record.

Hope it helps, good luck!

I'm on 2.95% to the leader, just inside the gold time, and I've been grinding LM in GT Sport for years.

Not only that, but I've actually been on the circuit for real - with @daan and @Roo (I think!?), in a Skoda... driven by @Famine... following @homeforsummer and other GTPers in a Volvo (IIRC?)... not that this helps much 😅

I'm still miles off the aliens, but knowing the track like the back of your hand is essential here I reckon!

One more session at LeMans, this time with a new livery color scheme and an improvement of 0.4. (4:20,903)

Odd enough that was a lap where I didn't think I did anything right. When I got to Tertre Rouge and I noticed I was behind my opt time I decided to continue the lap just for the sake of grooving. For my surprise it became a new PB.

In my mind I have another 2 or 3 tenths, so I'll try another push. (I hope my mind is not playing tricks on me 😅)

I've spent a fabulous evening on Arrakis and when I come back home, I read some passive-agressive messages from @smoothbore12 who would have score a decent time on Le Mans...

And apparently, @crome lives now on another galaxy.

This world is going mad....
@smoothbore12 is not the real Lisan Al Gaib, the real Lisan Al Gaib is too humble to even admit it... 😅😅😅

Hi,

With a truly gargantuan and colossal "Thank you!" to my, very good, friend: Jason. It is with delight that I can confirm a gold standard time at the Red Bull Ring. The penny has, finally, dropped here.

Almost 2 years of coaching. A ton of new gear. Lots of chasing ghosts. A whole barrel full of laughs. Hours of penalties and invalidated laps. I am proof. Proof undeniable. At 60 plus years of age.... You CAN teach an old dog new tricks!

My very best regards to Jason and all here.

Ian.

All my hard work last weekend has tremendously paid off. I haven't seen that in a long, long time! Hooray with several bottles of beer!!!! See I studied some of the top replays more thoroughly this time and kind of copied what moves they did on each Sector. So this was my third official gold medal! I am totally pleased with this accomplishment and thank you all for supporting me and keeping me going, if it wasn't for you guys I don't know where I'd be right now.

Now I need to learn how to shave my time off even more with the power and knowledge of the MT! This has been a wonderful, polite, caring, motivating and supportive community and I am thrilled to be a part of it. We have to look out for each other in this world of GT!

It's so late I decided to try to get a better laptime at the Red Bull Ring wit the Evo 9. Only did 3 laps or so when it launched and had a 1:49.4xx.

After 3 laps I was already down to 1:48.5 but after that I made mistake after mistake. Got a bit frustrated after the 20th retry because it was always 1cm over the track limit and thought OK, 1 final lap. After turn 1 I was ahead by .4s and it increased to almost 1 complete second. Lost a bit in the last 2 corners but happy I got it down to a 1:47.755. Would be my second gold if it holds.

Actually it was no problem getting a 4:19.604 following Tidgney ghost 0.3 sec. ahead.
I messed up a few corners, could save 1 or 2 seconds across the whole lap.
I'd have to put ghost farther out or disable it on some corners where I can't see
the apex through it sometimes.
New wheel is definitely helping me out, smoother and more FFB info coming through.

There’s always tomorrow

Ran LeMans a few times, 4:32.349. Deep into Bronze, miles from Silver.
You Can Do It

It’s got the super long straights, enter them slow in fast out. Exit speed is what counts. Shift into the next gear around 6k. This car is hobbled by its power limitations here. It’s still got a ton of torque.

Definitely it is cause i secure my gold ( i guess ) but i won't reveal my record.

Maybe I'm blind but I don't see your name in the Le Mans leaderboard, @smoothbore12 ...

Last session on the RBR, I'm happy with the improvements. It's still .5s from my ideal, which I really don't know where came from, but it was 1s before

Great results! Congrats!!!

Yesterday was my final session in Austria and I did secure gold and got in front of the frenchest of my friends... (Guess who?) 😉
In the end you will pass me and get among the TTK (Top Ten Kilo)! Keep pushing!
Unfortunately I forgot to save my lap, so I can only leave this pic. 18e253d0d9627-screenshotUrl.jpg
Tuesday I will arrive at LeMans since my livery is finished. First I thought about a Skoda Style but I didn't want to offend the beloved 'amis francaises' with this design and went for a classic and tasteful inverted design. Now I want to offend them with my lap time... 😁

Well, morning session on Le Mans and a slight improvement of my gold time (~300ms) - but look at that optimal 🤔

God i hate those track limits, look at my 4:19 invalidated lap for slightly grazing the blue wall... (didn't even notice..)

Let's keep pushing!
