Now that's an improvement! Congrats! And yes, definitely safe. I would go out on a limb and say the WR won't be improved anymore. De Bruin already broke into 4:13, and there's no one even close to challenging him, so why keep going?
I have no idea how Kaj even does Dunlop, i'm not the quickest out here but def not the slowest, but when i follow him....by the time i am on my exit trying to hang-on not going wide he is LONG gone, it's bizar how quick he is, i could follow Tidg reasonable but Kaj... pfff....

A little better. Shared to the showcase if anyone wants a not ridiculously fast ghost.

Day 3 at LM in the Baguetti and I had more time to put down some laps.

I found a little over 1 whole second from yesterday. But I think I've got a 4:17 in me if I can avoid invalidating the lap. My first and last two sectors are not quite where I'd like them to be.

Just squeezed by you @330_D. But I'm sure you've got more time in you!

Had under an hour yesterday and managed to put a time for the Evo at RBR. Clocked in a 1.47.3xx. I was on a 1.46.4 but invalidated it in the last corner... couldn't chase it after that 😮‍💨. Anyway, really busy week ahead so not much time to keep up with all the TTs. Probably won't do LeMans as it's not a good track for me and it's too long for me to manage a gold time it in less than 30 minutes sessions.

Side note, It's really crazy how fast this thread grows. I stopped checking in for maybe 3-4 days and I'm already behind by 15+ pages 😂

Anyway, happy lapping everyone!

I had a couple minutes to grind..I think my secret for this is short stints and more often. I don't seem to get better after my best in a session with this combo. I may try. It's a whole lot of waiting for a handful of flat, boring corners that simply require perfect timing..I don't feel like this track suits me well. It doesn't keep my attention. I def think I could get a 17 if the stars align. I had an optimal yesterday in the mid 17s. Didn't look today because I got a good lap early and from an out lap so I didn't have any data after.

My best time of 1'50.592 so far! I really hate the first two turns, you can see I took a shot at using the MT again and it went okay, but I still lost some time somewhere in Sectors 1-2. I think I'm doing all right at Sector 3, well that last tight turn before the finish line is a lap killer. I had about 5 good laps and I mucked up at the end at that evil turn.

I don't think I'm taking advantage of the full width of the track. I gotta find a better button setup for the gear shifts up/down, braking and the accelerating. I tried the motion sensor 2-3 times and I am really bad at it so that won't work for me.

Anyone got any tips for me? I'm trying to figure out how I can save time at the first two turns. I'm learning the MT well I still misjudge shifting the gears, sometimes I drive on the wrong gear, 3 instead of 2. I know one thing timing is the key for using MT to get incredibly super low lap times.

Hello Chris. I ve watched your lap.
For turns 1 and 2 you are not using all of the track. You can put your car more to the left , as long as keep the right tyres on the red and white curbs. It will allow for a wider turn and therefore carrying more speed. For turn 2 you re turning in too early and braking too late, narrowing the corner a lot.
Manual shifting looking good. Not losing a lot of time there. It will come with time. Stick with it.

Turn 3 is good , but you can carry a bit more speed and have a wider entry, but several lines can work there. Yours is fine.

Turn 4 or 5 (left turn that goes downhill) is where you re loosing your lap. Brake confidently at 60m and hug the inside curb( you can lift and let the car rotate) and follow it until mid turn then shoot outside where the circuit layouts meet.

For the last two corners you re braking and getting back on the power intermittently , pick a braking point and gradually release brake to only be braking until it's smash the throttle o'clock again. For the last turn I think you can go in 4th gear.

When I play pad I use R1 for upshift and L1 for downshift.

Hope this helps.

Good luck out there!

 is how I feel after today's session. I had a decent 4:17.1 but had multiple invalid laps of flat 17's and even high 16's, so I knew more was out there. I pressed on and finally nailed down a solid lap. Still not perfect (missed the apex at Indianapolis for example). I think I may already be at my limit for this TT. A 16.5 is possible, but I can't see myself going faster than that and no way will I be able to hold on to a top 100.

Yet despite my time, I'm still behind the Muffin Man. :grumpy:

Damn, feels like I nailed this lap pretty fast for a change (day 1 at this TT)...

It surely wasn't error free, but turns 2 and 3 were done so good that I fear I may go the downward spiral of frustration trying to replicate them.
Will surely try again before the end.

Thank goodness, at least this car is throwable into the corner, not like that roadster brick...

I had an old man moment today thinking I was trying to get into the 4:15s instead of 4:16.5s. And no....I didn't break into the 4:15s, but optimal said I could've. I lost a bit of my touch at Tetre Rouge and lose about a 10th or 2 there today, but did managed to figure out a few more corners. Over all, fairly consistent today running mostly in the 4:16s

Wish I could make it into the 15s, but maybe I will try tomorrow.

Maybe orange is the key?

You clearly have too much time on your hands if you can do 10 laps in a row. Either that or you have more patience because I usually restart my lap if the timer goes red. The most amount of laps I've done in a row is 2.

Dang! So much for me getting close to you. You pulled another half second like it was nothing. Watching the replay, we were neck and neck at Mulsanne Corner, but then you blasted away through Indianapolis and Arnage. Nice lap!

There is something about Le Mans that I somehow can get into this autopilot mode and keep on driving. Those invalid laps were all minor track limit errors so I kinda just kept going. The previous session was a 7 laps session until I blew the ford chicane so badly I spun 🫣

FWIW, those invalid laps were very important. I used those laps to explore different way to take corners that had been giving me problem. Ended up figuring out some corners and helped me put together that personal best.

Heh...the gain mostly came from the last few sectors. I figured out I was not releasing my brakes quick enough at Indianapolis and losing tons of exiting speed. Porsche curve I was also not doing it right. And I finally managed to get the last sector sorta right.

I need to re-figure how to do Tetre Rouge again....and the lap I did had a fairly lousy Mulsanne Corner. Getting them right would've put me into the 4:15s.

Yeah, that has become his signature move....., you nail a lap ( which you did mate, congrats, major time right there! ) exit to see you are above the prick and as soon as you click the leaderboard ...., the world sweeps underneath your feet...

Great job mr Mojo Miracle lap,

Insane times dudes , i almost wanna try again.........NOT....:lol::lol:

I ran a few laps on the RBR this morning but could't get below the .5xx and was kind of fed up pretty quickly...
So instead of yeeting the bug around la Sarte i did what i miss doing...., pick a stock car and just enjoy driving around...

Picked the stock Ferrari F50, slapped Sports medium on it, racing exhaust and carbon brakes and just Yeeted it aound the Nordschelife..

Man i had a blast! please gimmy a TT with this thing, has one of the best driving characteristics in the game if you ask me.

💩 for not joining the Le Mans fun 🤪

Funny how we enjoy doing the same thing....the only difference is I limited myself to use SH tires only. I need to do more of that this week since I accidently wiped the scoreboard for 500-600pp 2 weeks ago. Also F50 is pretty awesone to drive, but I can't see to beat my F40's time!

This one is all yours, and seems to be right up your alley :) , i could not even get close to you even if i tried i guess.
You are on fire lately mate!, i think Le mans in particulair must be a blast to drive on your setup with VR, that would make me go back....

Yeah, i try to just enjoy some cars now and then, funny indeed we enjoy that same thing!, it's close Ferrari-wise, i like the more agressive caracter of the F40 but i hate the unstableness under braking,
Alto i realy have a weak for the F40 after blasting hotlaps shotgun at Zandvoort as a kid, insane sound and insane heat in your neck after some laps

But def nice to drive around sometimes without the pressure of the communityboard :lol:

You should seriously think about VR :)

You can plug your ps5 to a small monitor/TV and just use the VR for the game. This way you don't have to fight with wife for the TV and force yourself to do remote. If you think Le Mans is awesome in VR, wait until you drive the Nurburgring....it's beyond awesome.

I understand here that if you have VR you still need to have a TV available?!?

Well, i need to first buy a playseat, then the rest of the gear, and the VR......, she would kill me before i even have the chance to buy that

in her words... " when the daughter is ot of the house you may save up for your manly cave " .... i just need time.......
and money tho :lol::lol:

@Chris30 then hop in the Lancer and try to be as smooth as silk, try to avoid pumping the gas during cornering, better to coast a little and hit it when you are sure you will make the exit.

Good luck, you got this!

Can't seem to motivate myself for time trialling at the moment. Not sure why but my theory is that I put so much effort into the Genesis VGT and 190E trials that I needed a break from the pressure of competition with you lot, I am a delicate flower after all. Every time I play, I just want to paint Plymouths and waft around Goodwood in a Barker Tourer.

Nevertheless, I couldn't let the gold streak end and can't resist those sweet credits, so knocked out some laps over a 30 minute lunch break. Not my best effort but I think good enough, quite pleased with the progress I've made in terms of being able to get decent times with minimal laps. Verdict on the TTs: Evo is great, wish I had more desire and time to push on that one; Veyron is yawn.

Good luck everyone!

So I've been off work this week getting ready for a much needed holiday.

Today I thought it's time for the G29 to come back out...

Screenshot_20240312_154347.jpg

It seems the kitten had some fun with it being stored under the bed 😯 so looks like I'll be making a repair at some point, luckily it's only the shifter so I can do without that for now.

IMG_20240312_153324.jpg

Going to see how the Bugatti goes with this, it's probably been about 8 months since this has been out 🤞🏻
