The track may be short but it has depths that a lot of others don't have. Sardegna really is one of the best original circuits ever made. It took me a while to figure out this variant of the track, but once I did I was able to set some good times in the low 1:05's. Unfortunately I got stuck there for quite a long time, making small errors as I tried to find the fastest path and exploit the track limits. Eventually I got into the 1:04's and beat my brother's time of a 1:04.990. Also, the Dino is a great car to drive considering it's age.

Well guys I just ran my first lap at Le Mans, and clocked a 4'35.741. Ugh, but I had to use all the assists to guide me and get me accustomed to the track. It's gonna be a challenging one doing it without them, so...

I gotta think, brainstorm and go for silver. I think gold is out for me here.

I think you don't need any assists there except ABS .
The car is well " balanced " and hide no surprises.
If you choose a silver ghost to follow you won't have much problems.

An idea is that :
Try to " learn " as good as you can the first sectors till the second chikane lets say.
It's easy to restart if you fail but at least if you learn that, you will have an ace for the rest of your white laps.

I will say that Le Mans has some awkward and ridiculous track limits, because I'll touch the blue area and the clock immediately turns red meaning my lap is void. I turned all assists off for now and I'll see where this gets me. The last sector is a total nightmare for me and it always has been TBH.

EDIT: I just ****ed up my lap and the end where that turn is, I'll show a picture of this annoying ass corner.

Whatever it is your aim is to take the silver , being as good as you can at the first sectors, will give you the luxury to be more careful after Indianapolis all the way to the end .

Yup, I hate the weird track limits. I did about 15 laps yesterday and only two were valid. the fastest ones were red only because of some track limits that shouldn't be,IMO.:irked: Good luck!

Dang, I clocked 4'39.821 on my 2nd lap after 6 laps of errors and invalidated times, sigh.

My first sector and Sector 5 was not my best which affected my overall lap!
Since you're far from silver my advice is to follow a high silver ghost to realise where you loosing time .
Or at least " study " one , not the top times of course.
Trying to improve only by your self is harder since you don't know where you're slow afraid of red laps , or braking , accelerating etc.

Well here it is, my best lap so far, I'm making progress. Turns 1-3 I probably could have found a better line there, I don't think it was that good(before Dunlop banner). I might be able to survive the sharp right turn(near Rolex banner) with a speed of 50-60mph. I went to slow there which cost me about a second maybe.

Most of the problems for me is Sectors 4 and 5. Where the Gant sign is and the Porsche banner sections. There's a lot you have to look out for not ruining the lap and having to start over.

So, what do you think guys? This wasn't my best PB, I know that for certain. Phew this is giving me a shove and push! I dread racing here, it's so long but it's not as bad as the Nordschleife. Maybe once I run consistent laps my time will keep reducing.

Bravo @Pesselles! I knew you could do it!!!

Just in time for me to call the pizza place and cancel that delivery... 😂😂😂😂

I think I have one more push left in this TT, my time is safe (I think....) but I'd like to get one more improvement. I 'm just not in the groove today it seems. I lapped a 100kms today with no progress.

But congratz to you! Your efforts payed out! 😎

Edit: if I could I'd name that damn T7 "the gamble". Because for me it is pretty much what it seems like. 😂
Obrigado, my friend!! I really appreciate your kind words!
The ananas pizza threat was a very good motivation for me to gain few tenths 😂 No need to do it again, PLEASE :lol:

I saw @KAlex122 improved his PB at 1:15.3xx yesterday evening. I guess he must feel lonely at this score, we should try to join him :D

T7 could also be named the russian roulette: hit or miss... :scared::lol:

This corner is very tricky. Make sure you turn in early and abuse the inside curbing to maintain speed. You shouldn't have to brake but a lift of the throttle should be enough to control the exit so you don't run wide.

I learned from @Tidgney's lap guide to turn in at the 2nd to last red RMC board on the right side of the track (there are 4 on the right side, so it's the third one).

It feels too early when you do it, but it's a very deceptive corner.

Yesterday's session briefly put me below 2%, but then @EbrahimX7 worked his magic again ;)

Not a bad time, but since in the prior session I had improved by over half a second relatively quickly, I had hoped I could knock on the door of the 1:04 club, but then I hit a roadblock here.

Maybe it's the CSA that's holding me back in the final two corners where the ghost always pulls away, but if I turn it off, the car is far too nervous for me to do any consistent laps. I might give it one more try tomorrow, but then probably head back to Le Mans which (surprisingly) I enjoy much more.

Altho he was probably druk from the party up there somewhere in the clouds.....and he probably was intoxicated by inhaling some quadrofiglio pilotsport tire smoke... don't know what your state was......but this feels good again @Dan_Tes ...🤣🤣🤣🤣

There is absolutely a .6 in it cause I did stuffed some of those up due to eating to much blue to early on the final turn 🤬🤣🤣
Fastest OPT was 606 this morning

@Chris30 Le Mans means exitspeed, due to the long straights it's key.
Study some lines, better again to coast a turn with a good racingline and early throttle than a bad line and poor exit.
Try not to rev the bug out all the way btw, half of the bar or so seems to be enough

Good luck👍

I count that as aggressive behaviour! :D I think i should start watching laps like Tidgneys. For my last couple of golds i tried figuring out everything myself without lap guides. But maybe it helps here especially with the awkward first and last corner.

Naaa, it's just kindness as we don't want you to feel lonely and get cold in 1:05.3... :sly:

Guides are always a good start to learn from the best. It helps me to save probably tens laps of stupid mistakes but also, it gives visibility to these magic and essential video creators.

These videos are very informative but also, a bit depressive because on the first sector, Tidgney is simply 0.4 faster than me.... :( BUT WHERE??? So yes, you and I we could gain some "easy" tenths, simply by improving constantly the first turn.

On T7, Tidgney is never under 125km/h. That's sounds incredible but it's clearly doable.

The final section is critical and 50% of time, I have no idea how to manage it :scared: I'm clearly losing tons of tenths here.
Once again, Tidgney is doing perfectly and we should only replicate his explanations.

@Chris30 getting a silver reward at Le Mans is similar to getting gold on many others TTs. I've accepted this, as I'm 0.2 from gold.
Don't worry about the world record, it's from another galaxy.

Stay focus on the lines, on your braking points, follow the previous smart advices already given by the Big Boys and no matter your final result, we'll be all very proud of you.

I know. Watched a lot of videos in the first year if GT7. Rory's streams, Kie's, Tidge's and MCA's Guides. Also Tidgney's 20-part driving school from GT Sport.

I am nearly completely of YouTube since the Baby is here. I just try to use the time to drive myself. And figuring out these things (partly) myself is also fun at the moment.

Actually had quite a bit of fun customizing the Ferrari - going for a "When Japanese tunes a Dino" style with TE37V's. For some reason I found the Ferrari quite fun to drive that I'd never have imagined (I am usually a Race car guy) and managed 1:04.878 so far. Was actually a quite conservative 2nd half of the lap but not sure if I can improve further.

You know what I may not do a whole lot of grinding at Le Mans, I'm considering taking bronze and exiting stage left. I know it's gonna stress me big time. It is a long complex track with awkward track limits. That's the truth. The Sardegna one would be much smoother and lighter for me, I just can't do the long technical courses over a long period of time.
