For those that struggle with T1, i use the first pit-out line as brake marker and just full on straight brake to 2, then turn in with my foot off the gas untill i can hit full throttle. Works a charm!
That's exactly this way I'm trying to improve my T1. May I ask you what is your average time on the T1?

With that method, I'm able to hit the full throttle a bit earlier than previously, which impact directly on the exit speed of the first turn.
As direct effect, I've lowered my T1 to 28.396 - which is far from perfect, I agree - but I've gained almost 0.1 sec.
I still play in automatic mode, just for the record.

@Dolph Drago any thoughts? I saw your replay. I'm trying to copy what you did at T1, but it's hard.
I felt like I lucked out with turn 1 on my fast lap. I couldn't even tell you what I did. I had tried to induce a bit of sliding with trail braking on many attempts. Went in for a smoother and tighter entry other times. That particular lap I did a mix of both. Moments of very, very slight oversteer while downshifting, then somehow got the car to rotate and hit the apex, leading to a good exit. @Gomario JSP had good advice about getting through there.
But finaly into the 5xx....
I really wanted to do a poop emoji on your post. My advantage over both of you didn't even last through the (my) evening. I'm already the meat in the sandwich and will probably be the bottom piece of bread by the time I hit the track again. :irked:

This new TT in the Dino is more difficult than I thought it would be. The right hander after the esses is what is killing me. i feel like I either take it a bit too quick and track out enough that it kills my momentum (aka clipping the grass) or just way too slow.

Sitting at an 05.88 so just a hair over the current gold. I feel like if I could just hit that right hander I'd knock .300 off there alone.

You are not the first one to poop emoji me 🤣🤣 Your S1 was indeed quite good, I checked , you were @ 28.181 were I was @ 28.137 I already ran high 27's there but yeah.....you know the deal 🤣
I made a lot of time in the right hander directly after S1, so could have been a lot better! 😱😭, not the easiest one, but quite fun!, im sure you will find a way to shock me again 😁😁🙏

You can always ask! Avarage around 28.3xx, good ones on 28.2xx bad ones on 28.4xx :-) hope it helps!

Looking at the chart more closely, it nicely illustrates what I already suspected: I'm not very good at race cars, and I don't enjoy those TTs. The spikes are all race car TTs, I do much better in cars like the Dino.
Almost the opposite for me. "Almost" because I do enjoy both in general, I just tend to do better in high downforce cars for some reason. With that said, now that I finally dipped into the 1:04 (yay! 🥳 ), I think I'll close the Dino chapter for now. If I find the time, I might go back to Le Mans once again, where I actually feel closer to another improvement even though I'm already unusually high up the community leaderboard. Let's find out ...

Happy lapping, as always!

Ah man I miss JASC Paintshop Pro so much sometimes....I don't miss Coreldraw however 🤣
I think when Corel bought JASC it started to go downhill, I'm still using JASC Paintshop Pro 9 which was the last one before they were bought by Corel back in 2004 😂.

I tried 10 but didn't get on with it, so I do have some limits using older software, but if you could edit before AI became the norm then it's still just as good as anything else (and better than Photoshop @Pesselles 😉)

Hi,

Disgruntled. Crammed as a wasp. Fizzing mad. Fuming and another hundred expletives deleted kind of things!...

I am chasing a top time here - I won't name them - However, I am right "on the money" until it comes to the last section. The chicane and the final corner. The number of times I have been into the very low 1:05's only to get a red lap because my right rear tyre dust cap has crossed the white line. Ohhh my days! If I can get this last section just right.... Oh! Wait! I guess there are another 8,000 people here doing just what I am doing. The whole damned rig nearly went on eBay about 30 minutes ago! Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

SarDino isn't clicking for me yet. Though I haven't put much more than 20 laps in over two stints. I've made about 0.5 seconds improvement over my blind run after watching Tidgney's lap guide and watching the fastest available replay.

I'll probably stop if I manage 2.5% or better while I prepare for the Manufacturer's Cup races. Fortunately, the recent TT at Bathurst has helped in that regard.

Must've just needed a break. Went back and did a 1:05.54 after two laps. Good enough.

I woke up 2 hours ago, damn this TT. The gold is gonna be a nightmare!! I'm stuck at 1'09.641! God, I'm sweating bullets here!

EDIT: The last turn is a mystery for me, if I go wide out and clip the apex while going straight, I risk going past the blue line which will invalidate my lap. But then if I brake early and veer to the right I lose more time, so idk what to do about it yet.

You're not alone mate.

Minimal gain today. It would have been better, but I didn't have the best sector 1. A lap later in the session saw a mid 28.1 1st sector and a great turn 7 - I was up on my best (shown below) by a tenth of a half. But naturally, I completely fluffed up the final turn. :banghead: It would have been a 1:04.5 or maybe even .4. Anyway, it is such an addictive TT. I kept pumping in lap after lap. The number of times I said, "Just one more lap and I'll call it quits', yet continued on to do another lap was numerous.

Started using L/R triggers with the Evo at RBR for brake and throttle instead of right analog stick due to a broken thumb. It took a while to get accustomed to and I kinda miss feeling like a kid steering an RC car, but triggers for pedals does have it's benefits. For one, the controller sits more comfortably in my hand and the ability to trail braking and actual throttle control feels a bit improved, making weight transfer more manageable. This especially reflects in the current Dino TT, which is such a joy to throw around that short Sardegna section. Getting through the S with no lift and nailing the last corner while keeping the car planted throughout the lap feels so rewarding. What a great combo :)

Also, I was today years old when I remembered the Bugatti had a 7th gear. No wonder I was stuck in silver the whole time.

I'm taking a look at Tidgney's guide on YT, I'm trying to study and pay attention to how he handles T1 and the very last turn before you go straight to the finish line. This is going to take time so this is my focus/attention the next week.

Boys, it was an honor fighting beside you guys but I think I'm gonna throw the white towel here.

30 minutes today at Sardegna and again nothing new.

Sad to say I'm not seeing more time to be gained with the Italian Impostor. But at the same time I'm happy I could get into the gold margin in the very first day and also made an improvement then. From 1:05,9 to 1:05,4.

I'm eargely waiting for the next TT.

Well I know I won't be in the low 1'05.000's, or even the 1'04.000's, that's too much work!

Spent the evening doing laps in the Dino, and I'm starting to feel like I'm getting very close to my limit. Managed to string together one of my fastest sector 1s with my fastest sector 2 ever, so I don't think I can improve much further. This will do, for now at least. :)

Also still P5 at Le Mans. Interesting to see how that holds until Thursday. Would be my best placement ever, even if I drop a couple of positions.🤞
