This is a handful for me and without this thread, I would be in bronze trying to figure out how to get a silver time. Thanks to everyone here and @Tidgney ghost, I have, temporarily, achieved a gold time. MT is a must have here and I still need TCS:1 with CSA set to strong to stay on the track. :embarrassed: I hope to turn both off by the end of this TT and see if I can still set a gold time...

Well @TumeK5, your hypothesis was right the other day, I do not think I'm gonna be earning Gold at Fuji. My aim is silver, I got a semi-decent lap and still got 1'37.749. I can't imagine how much further I would have to push for the gold medal. I don't like how this car responds everytime I brake and turn through the tougher corners towards the end of the track. It is not a good combo for me at all and I'm being honest here.

I have no shame to admit I didn't want to participate to this TT: to high for me, too fast, too undrivable, etc.

My admiration and my respect for those who are participating with the very hight skills required to drive this McLaren, are endless.
Hats off!

Yep! Just before you turn in, seemed to work nice. The YouTube video is on my account I just haven’t had a chance to edit the details etc (busy day today, it’s alll going wrong)

I don’t know if it’s quicker than a little lift but I never really got to 130R enough times to properly experiment 🤪
Top tip, thanks. I just did a few miles (23 miles before I got past Degner 1...), but first completed lap around 45 miles in, I dropped from 1:39.7 to 1:39.47, despite the first few sectors being sub-par.

Wow, the new TT will really put you through every stage from anger to denial to acceptance... The McLaren VGT seemed absolutely horrible and unpredictable as I was barely clocking 41's around Suzuka last night... The 130R and Degner 1 were two of my arch-nemesis.
After several hundred miles in VGT I began understanding it (kind of). I even managed to consistently take 130R without dying of death on most of the attempts.
Got into the gold territory (barely), but sector 1 was positively mediocre and I definitely can improve by 2 or 3 tenths. Putting a clean lap together is extremely tough.
Will have to put more time into this TT. I have a premonition that WR will still be improved by several tenths...

UPD: down to 39.6, seems I managed to "crack the code" of this thing

DS4 here too. I was stuck to 7 thousands slower than gold, and frustrated. I have 6 GTOnes, but thought "why not trying the rented car?". Mind you, it could just be a placebo effect, but I felt the car was more stable in off-throttle corner entry and even traction (TC2) was easier and smoother. Less than ten laps and from 1:33.495 I got 1:33.329. Again, maybe just a coincidence but who knows?
No, now I'm sure, it's not just a coincidence. I can't say rented GTOnes are "faster" but they're different for sure, at least in a sort of way that helps me to be faster. I have six of them, tried them all, very often changing oil before the TT, I even bought a new one and went straight to Fuji only to get below 1:33.500 once (and it looked like a perfect lap for my standards). I tried again this afternoon, a 20 lap stint with my cars, never below 1:33.5, rented another one, 2nd lap 1:33.327, and later 1:33.295. Well, fine, back to my ordinary Historic Style custom races now, slow but happy. :)

McLaren VGT at Suzuka is pretty challenging on controller with motion control. Got into current gold and wonder if I am safe with this time or not? @EbrahimX7 what do you think what time will be safe for gold, how much can WR be improved?

You aliens in front of me on leaderboard, any of you on controller or all wheel users?

@P-Courty I think we need to go for 10 - 1 - 10 on settings, or, what do you use? I tried with lower values but couldn't turn in quickly enough/on time.

Sorry if this matter has already been addressed chaps, but I can't seem to see reference to it...

After what felt like a decent first lap I couldn't get near my ghost. He blew away from me on the start finish straight, and then even though I almost always was ahead of him leaving spoon, be just blasted past me on the run to 130R. What am I doing wrong? Please

Battery ran out. The car is a hybrid, so you can't do more than 2 laps in succession.

It honestly baffles me why PD has this feature enabled for time trial.

I will be trying this TT at some point tomorrow and think I will be starting with the 10-10-10 setup that I used with the GT-One with it being high downforce.

If I'm not stable enough on the straight or getting too much turn in understeer then I'll probably go down to something around 10-8-7 I think.

I also want to go back to the GT-One with the wheel, if I get time to, because it will be interesting to see the difference in handling (and my times) but will be sticking to the controller for the Mclaren as I can't see it being much fun to keep grinding.

Did you use the DRS?

Well, I finally broke my DS4 - at least the rumbly bit that makes it shake and gives you feedback. It is now loose and sliding around aimlessly inside. After spinning at 130R on six consecutive laps, the controller may have gone flying through the air. It was aimed at a nice, soft pillow, but, umm...it sorta missed the mark...:embarrassed: It still works, but that piece moving around in there is quite distracting. Anyhoo...130R is seriously giving me fits. I let off the gas, but the car either continues in that direction and spins, or I try to correct the slide as softly as possible and it instead takes off in the other direction. It may take some time to find gold here if I can't make it through an entire lap safely. This is the furthest away I've been from gold since Lake Louise (I barely avoided losing my gold streak there with what felt like a miraculous lap on the last day).

I'm not sure about the "seat" but I guess the part you insert in the mouth could be worthwhile to use for DRS. I can't find a button that makes it comfortable to use.

Not Ed replying, but hello, my fellow Turtle racer! Long time, no talk! I was just thinking about the league and how I haven't kept in contact with anyone. How have things been?
Hi Dolph! Yeah, it’s been quite a bit since we’ve spoke. Things have been okay. I’m still driving a semi truck these days, for a different company. How have you been old friend?

Hi, welcome to GT7 nice to see you again.
Yes i'm still on controller. Just do what you did in previous GT games, you were fast in the past so you will be fast here aswell. 👍☺️
Good to know. Thanks for the reply. It’ll take some time to kick the rust off. See you on the leaderboards! 👋

Did you use the DRS?
Thanks Courty, I didn't even know that it had DRS. Guess I need to allocate a button.

Thanks Tume. I wonder if I plug my feet into the mains it might help make the battery last a bit longer. This TT is, in my opinion, a bit of a monkey.

I am going to leave it at this unless the gold time changes drastically.
It can be fun, but frustrating at same time. Satisfying if you nail it though.

I think the Fuji one is more frustrating than the Suzuka one. At least the Suzuka course doesn't have that brutal Sector 3 where all the corners there are awkward and a pain in the butt. That's my way of putting it.

@Zolon32 hey, I am Chris, this is the first time I've seen you post here, welcome. Are you new to gt7 or have you been playing for a while now?
