I should be more satisfied since it's a good time but it's a story of unfulfilled potential and as such, feels bitter. Especially when it was a combo I really enjoyed. Had pace for a high 33, really should've done a 34 but end on a 7'35.594, just improving a tenth on my first time. It was a clear 34 but like an absolute clown I turn in too early and bounce on the kerb exiting out on the Döttinger Höhe (back straight, ~6'40 in), out of all possible places to fail.

Such situations just completely drain you of your energy as well. Rough *. Couldn't get myself the amount of time I ought to have given myself for this TT. Work and other stupid life * in the way, taking up too much time and energy.

Not so graceful in defeat as I strive to be but it's tough with great opportunities missed. Threw away a few hours of sleep with no return (on invest) which I'll sorely regret come that awful morning alarm in a while...

Anyway, very well done again @Dan_Tes, you're certainly delivering some high quality times as of late. And I completely agree with you about the next one, Civic at Tsukuba sounds terrible. Will be another boring low effort TT.

Impressed also by @Dolph Drago here. Your time is certainly quicker than I expected from you here, and I mean that in the nicest of ways, as I'm sure you understand. Seeing nice improvements from you. Well done, man.
Thanks mate, great feeling getting a compliment from you! That was definitely a time sapper, impossible to get a clean lap straight out of the box!!

Wowweeeee I just scraped in for my 8th top 50 time in a row!

No chance of extending that run as the Civic is just too dull to grind and I’m very busy these next two weeks, but what a run!!

New trial… Oh baby, the F1 GTR is one of my favourite cars to just fun race with; Le Mans not my favourite especially with the draconian and at times baffling track limits.. I set a very competent lap today; YouTube video incoming! And it’s on Racing Medium tyres; Thank You PD!!!

I’m currently top of my friends leaderboard until @djolliea comes round to show me what fast actually is :odd:

You are absolutely on fire, sir. Fantastic show.

Managed to get in a couple more hours last night before the Nordschleife TT ended. Improved my time but had to settle for a silver, gutted because I'd thrown away a few gold laps and I know I could do it, but I was really tired and started to tense up and overdrive, so I decided to call it a night.

Last GCSE Exam today so should be back to normal next week with a morning release! I got a tad frustrated with this one as I was on for Rank 1 sooooooo many times! Even so the guide is here with tips and tricks for it!

I think you're capable for first place! Thanks for sharing your lap. With it I was able to find that extra second I mentioned in my previous post!

Le Mans is my favourite race and i like the longtail mclaren too.
1000006105.jpg

I have a gold lap but the gap is too close i think.
My optimal was 3:41.7 today but i can't manage the last curve 🥵. When my lap is faster than my PB i make a mistake... when it's slower i drive the last curve fearless...

Good luck friends, and remember the starter words in Le Mans:
"Pilotes, allumez vos moteurs!"

Did a first lap at Tsukuba, was already in the 1:13s so it motivated me to do a real stint.

Very very close to gold, seems like I'd be able to get this one, just need to combine my best sectors...

Had a go at Le Mans too, with a ghost, but it was obstructing the view so much... I need to revise that track while seeing where I go, and I need to note the breaking points. Did not managed to a clean lap, but I can clearly go below 3:50 with some work.

Yet again, you sound and drive almost exactly like me!

My very first lap the other night was in the silver zone, so I kept doing and got to a ~1.13.3 or so. I gave it a go last night and was stuck at 1.13.1 for a while with a 1:12.x optimal. So I kept going and finally got a 1:12.9 - which I am not thrilled with considering my optimal was 1:12.6 and it's only a tenth off the gold bump time. But I know what you mean about piecing together sectors - any time I nailed S3 and carried a lot more speed into turn 1 only guaranteed I'd give it all back in sector 2.

Any time I see the times you guys post it truly amazes me.

What was the process? How long since you started playing? Did you notice anything clicking? Or you just got the game and were naturally fast?
Or just the good old practice and practice until you re god fast?

Genuinely curious.

Had to settle for Bronze at the Ring. With more time I think silver would have been in reach.

Did ten laps at Tsukuba and managed 1:12.713 so that will hopefully stay golden! Had a really nice flow, don’t think I have ever reached gold that fast!
Could possibly shave off a few tenths more but wont have time for that, will probably need that time to be able to complete an entire valid lap around Le Mans instead…

Edit: ”shave off a few tenths”, geez who am i trying to fool here… 😂

Man I missed some pages...pfff... 🤣🤣

For the new TT...... not realy happy with Le Mans, just to many corners are not flowing for me, never did, so
I like the Porsche curves if the runoff of the last one was bigger, you feel the need to absolutely yeeeet it to the left but you just cant cause you invalidate on the exit....
And the last chicane is just incredibly stupid imo...weird angled and a salami as big as a cow....
The two chicanes Ralentisseur 1 and 2 I do like, but the tracklimits are a mystery for me tho.... Virage is a joy....frustrated to get just right ( on remote it's a real lottery ) BUT if you nail it ....man thats satisfying! 😁

First Nokia setup runs are in, beautiful car....a handfull but fun car, realy bad fot the ears tho with headphones , god it ls sharp and noisy 🤣🤣

I really really like Le Sarthe :D Its always been one of my best tracks. Still, I wasnt expecting it to go quite this well! I'm not sure i'll have another go here since this is around 4 tenths faster than it seemed like my optimal would be.

Glad it was of help! I've been on for Rank 1 twice tonight. Ended up on an invalid 36.7 after clipping the wall on porsche curves. Very next lap I was 2 tenths up before the porsche curves, gained another 2 tenths then my car decided to spear left on the chicane 😭 😭

Fifteen minute feel out went well. I don't love this track. It's boring. I know it's sacrilege to say, but for me it's blah. I might grind. Also I might finally finish the Nurb CE instead of grinding a boring TT with my time since I seen to have found the ability to drive a little bit there. Cheers all! 🍻🍻🔥🔥

Hello everyone, I am back from a 7-day stay in the Emergency Room, I was taken there May 28th around 4pm. I had a blood vessel rupture on my left ankle, it stung, burned and itched a lot. The nurses and doctors took good care of me, they gave me antibiotics. I have had to be on a strict schedule this past 9 days, I will be back this weekend. Tomorrow is my last day, hooray.

I have truly missed gt7, so what's been going on lately? I had a rough time in the ER, I've lost quite a bit of sleep. I am so glad to be back home and on my cozy couch.

What is the new TT now, I haven't even looked yet.

Welcome back Chris, good to see you again. We were a bit worried about the radio silence ;)

In other news, here's a little something I've been dabbling with recently. Mostly just to scratch my programming itch, but I like the result enough that I thought I'd share it with you: it's (another) browser script similar to the one I told you about in my very first post here.

That other one hooked into the gran-tourismo.com event pages to provide these at-a-glance participation infos I post from time to time, whereas this new one is for gtplanet.net itself. It works exclusively in this and the TT results thread and enhances the user info of each post with the stats of that user wrt the currently running TTs. It looks like this:

1717714865360.png

The color obviously represents the gold / silver / bronze / none tier, other data is the time, percent deviation from the world record and current worldwide leaderboard rank.

The data is not real-time, but updated around every two hours. If you hover over one of the widgets, it will tell you when (and also the name of the event). The link leads to the event page on gran-tourismo.com.

If you're interested, you can install the script really comfortably from here: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/497244-gtplanet-tt-assistant. Prerequisite is a browser plugin like tampermonkey or greasemonkey (I use tampermonkey) that can run these kinds of user scripts. The site will automatically link you to them if necessary, the installation is just a one-click affair. That is, if you're on a PC or Mac. Mobile devices work as well, but it is not as straight-forward.

Unlike the other plugin, this one relies on some small backend service I operate myself, and there's no guarantee that it's always available. But when it's not, the script will simply not work and gtplanet looks like it always has. The data the service collects is only what's publicly available via gran-tourismo.com anyway, just aggregated in a different form. Nevertheless, if you don't want to be "exposed" that way on the board, just reach out to me and I can of course remove you, no problem. Likewise, if you want to be added, reach out to me as well. I've done this for most regular posters and will continue to close the gaps, but adding someone is a manual process. Finally, if you have feedback or ideas how to enhance this, let me know as well.

I managed to squeeze in a 7:39 on the Nurburgring with 1.5 hours to go last night. I've gotten pretty decent at racing/GT7 over the last couple years but actually memorizing the Nordschleife has been a big gap in important knowledge for me so I drove 1300 miles over the course of this TT since I absolutely love the car combo.

I figured a 39 was around the pace of a lap I'd be proud of, and I was right. That said, I'd love to get some feedback from any specialists here if there is some low hanging fruit. I'm sure some of it is more obvious to me (don't oversteer coming out of the youtube section, could have got on the gas sooner approaching the straight) but others may not be!

Hey man. Glad you are on the mend.

Lemons with the McLaren F1 GTR. Not terrible, not great.

You were making great progress before you had your emergency, when you feel up to it, I'm sure you'll catch right back up!

I offset the ghost by .5 to .8 of a second just so I would not have view blocked to much

The track is long but the car is great so it's not as tedious as the previous time trial around here. I think a 39 is possible as my fastest unofficial time was a 3:40.013. The car can get away from you very quickly in first gear and I had to catch several slides coming out of the slow corners. I do find it surprising how little weight there is in the rear.
