Started to feel a little nervous about my silver in the Red Bull so once again I went back in for more. Found ANOTHER couple tenths (after way too many laps)! Hopefully that's the end of it! lol...

I think I’m done with GV. Spent 3 hours on it tonight and improved by .2 but still .3 off from where I need to be. I can’t see how I’m going to do that as I’m sure the time will change again before the weekend and my optimal is still not close to gold either. This one is hurting my brain.

For the other two, I’m still managing to hold into gold. Seaside is still too close for comfort though at +2.97%.

New stint at DT, with good improvement again, and I could have done much better on the next lap...

Optimal shows that progress is still possible.

Esses is still a group of turns where I need to get more consistent.

COD... depends, I tend to go slow in to be relatively stable on exit, could be faster but with much more failures.

10 laps medium is much better. 1s better than yesterday (but no big bottle today)

41 laps in.

After many, many laps, I lowered my Suzuka time by a whopping .022 seconds...😩
I don't know what's worse:
1. The crazy and sudden oversteer the car throws at you in turn 1...
2. Touching a single blade of grass coming out of turn 2 or the middle of the final corner that automatically turns the car 90+ degrees sideways or...
3. The horrible understeer coming out of the final turn

Or licking the grass on the apex when you throw the little basterd to the tight to enter the very last corner......🤣🤣
It's getting annoying , its there......but when.....🤣🤣

Still licking my wounds a bit from the MX-5 fiasco :D

However, I would never have thought I'd say this one week ago, but: the Red Bull TT is much more accessible, and I found it way easier to gold (I realise I am in the vast minority with this assessment, but it is what it is 🤷‍♂️).

I was stuck with a high 1:27 for a few laps, but after re-watching @Tidgney's video and copying his approach to the left-hander at the start of S2 (staying in 5th gear and applying 30% brake power), it all clicked. Not a safe gold yet, but I think if being pushed, I could go below 1:27. Amazing that I am still almost in the top 1,000, but then again, only ~1,500 people have gold currently.

Good luck everyone!

How do you check this stadistic? I cannot find in my game that option to see how many peo le are in each rank.

This TT must be one of the least gold achievers right?

I fully support you and ask you to remember this after the soccer match this friday... 😀 (Yes, I am a "Bochumer Jung") So, Attack!!!
Haha, I like where this is going. @half_sourly we should do a nations league :D

On the football part though: I'm not a BVB supporter, maybe you confuse me with someone (well, I am, but only if they play against Bayern, like every self-respecting football fan would do). So forza VfL! ;)

Hmm... my fault anyway and I am shure it was someone here who might read it (and will comment on saturday...). Now I support you even more.😁 Go, Crome!

Happy birthday Captain @Dan_Tes
Decided to flash the PS up yesterday after having trouble finding a repairer that would attempt to fix the pedals.
For some reason they now work fine! After I'd disassembled it a few days ago and put it back together, it was worse, didn't do anything else to it and now it's fixed! I just don't get electronics!

Managed to make bronze safer at the Dragon Trail but that's all so far. And belated happy birthday to @Dan_Tes

I don't know if this helps, the struggle is definitely real. I am only down to 1:26.881 (2.6%), but I did find a little over a tenth in two spots, one in the @Tidgney ghost, one apparently not. I have the habit of 'always doing something with the car'. In Turn 1, there is a little to be gained by rolling or coasting, whatever your terminology, between braking and throttle, this one is in the ghost. In the hairpin at the end of the second straight, you can also coast a little through the turn, this not only helps with the exit speed, but allows me to turn harder and stay further in for a better exit. This eliminated having to feather the throttle on exit, which you need to do if you are a just a little higher to avoid spins. If you are tighter to the apex, the speed at the end of the turn is inconsequential, you can jump on the throttle as soon as you are pointed at the exit, the extra speed allows you to turn to stay on the track because of the added downforce. Between these 2 I am able to get in the low 27.2's in the first sector. Of course I suck everywhere else, but that is a different story.

Ken

It's from a browser plug-in I made. Look at my signature.

Pretty sure yes. Let's see what @half_sourly says once this thing is over.
My methodology, which tracks the normalized (normalized for lap time) difference between 1st and 1000th, says that this is the most difficult this year(largest range between 1st and 1000th). I wasn't tracking stats prior to this year.

Unpopular opinion: I really dont care about football. So may the best win (and I dont know who are the best).

I'm not partial, I only support a friend (like you are all) :P
100% the same. The last time I watched football/soccer was in 2014 when Germany won the world cup. The match vs Brasil was crazy. That was peak. Maybe Germany sucks since then because I stopped watching!? 🤔😂

Guys, try Super License S5 dirt track now after 1.49 update, it is huge fun, and then you will want dirt track TT more than me :D
I golded the S license on my alt a couple of days ago. It's been way better (imo) since 1.49 but rally is still something I don't like in GT. Probably a skill issue but it just feels..off

Yes Yes and Yes... One of the greatest cars ever and a fantastic track.

Why do people sometimes hide their replays when they're at the top of the rankings?
As Jeddah said, they think they have found some "move" that they think can give them advantage and do not want to share it with othters, before end of challenge, then many can post videos. Wonder how we others would do if we were battling for P1?

Why do people sometimes hide their replays when they're at the top of the rankings?
Because these are the world's best drivers and they are hiding their lines/strategy going into this weekend's races.

Personally I hate it and think anyone that does not have a saved replay be eliminated from the leaderboard. Like, how do we know they are not cheating?

I liked it when, for a couple weeks, everyones replay was available, regardless of where you ended up.
