Had a short session this morning in an attempt to get under my prior best of 1:50.006. Honestly surprised myself having done many laps last weekend on this how easy the time came today. Two clean laps in 26 miles and boom! Think I’m parking this car up in the garage now… was a fun but challenging event.

Well played Carlos, great score !!!

The Alpina liveries are really fantastic and give a boost to the car, that's obvious ;):dopey:

Seems we had a similar day but with a lightly different result:

(for once, I didn't screw up my last sector but the 2nd...)

Nice! Now I need to go back and try again, that poor last sector is bothering me now. If I matched your T3, I'd be on a 1:49.529 which would move me up from my now 528th position to 303rd!

Oh my I'm so far behind on this thread 💀 You guys post too much 😂😝

Work is a nightmare atm and gaming time has been extremly cut so this is the first TT in a while for me. There are 3 TTs to do for me but decided to go with the one that's most interesting to me which is Interlagos with the Vulcan.

Was really surprised that I was already at 3.5% after 5laps and no ghosts or guides. Took another 5 laps with Laportys ghost to get well into the 27s.

Excuse me but what is this ABOMINATION???:scared::scared::scared:

(scores without guide or ghost, just free practice)

After 30 mns: "please stop dancing the samba on every turn"
After 1 hour: "you're supposed to be a race car, be a race car"
After 1:30 hour: "I'm so glad I didn't bought a Vulcan in real life..."

Glad I'm not the only one that finds this car horrible to drive. Massive oversteer on corner entry, random snaps of oversteer through the rest of the corner... If the car behaves the same way IRL as in game then many Vulcan owners should be entitled to refunds
Jambo Chris,

Yes, the Vulcan owers should demand a refund from Aston Martin

Honestly, I don't understand how to drive it. maybe a video guide should help but the first laps were a real disaster and I'm really not confident for the the next steps (to be honest, I'm really not sure to participate to this one).

I've tried with various combinations TC, CSA, etc, none is really efficient for now.
Maybe it's just me and the (wrong) way I try to drive this beast.
Put the TC on 1, and CSA off.

Be patient, and you can drive this Vulcan gently.

On YT, i have seen a lap guide from Ice_wan (in french) with some interesting visual markers.

Go !

Hey fellow time trailers,

had a very busy couple of days, so I didn’t get a lot of time on the track. That’s a shame because I really enjoy the Vulcan and I feel like I can be pretty competitive here. I haven’t broken into 1:36 yet, but had a 1:05:666 S2 split once which would have easily been good enough for 1:36.8 with a decent S3. I hope I get another chance in the next few days …

Happy lapping, as usual!

Is it just me or am I having a rough time at the Gardens? I thought MT would help me earn a silver time, but nope! I guess I'll have to study several ghosts and replays to see what I'm doing wrong. I gotta do this on my own. I thought since the BMW is a road car, this TT would be a piece of cake. Boy, was I wrong, :(

Mate don't over drive the car and that means trying to brake too late (brake earlier but come off them earlier) REMEMBER THE BRAKE ISNT A BUTTON ITS SOMETHING YOU HAVE REALLY GOOD CONTROL OVER, learn to modulate.

Be patient on the throttle, as tempting as it is this is a huge car with a high revving high torque engine, let it get straight and then power AGAIN REMEMBER THE THROTTLE TRIGGER IS SOMETHING YOU CAN EASE ON TO GO FAST NOT COD fastest finger first!

The key to a decent lap (not a top 50 one) is just easing the car round with no drama and carrying speed where you can.

Watching all the ghosts in the world won't help you right now, but do a lap, save the replay load that ghost and go to ghost settings and put it .3 in front of you. Do a few laps just to keep up with it (consistency) and then try in one or 2 corners to get a better exit or be smoother on the brakes.

Once you start getting close to it, save that lap and repeat 👍

One final tip is to ignore the ghosts for now and focus on what makes the best line for each corner. You have to remember you are racing the circuit as much as taming the car

um...I think maybe both?

lol

Chris, how much have you used manual transmission? I don't think it's likely to help you get silver in a TT if you only use it once in a blue moon..it really needs to be something you're comfortable with. I don't think there's very many TTs where AT is an advantage really...you can pretty much always do at least as well with MT so there isn't much point switching back and forth once you're used to it, but there's also not much point using it in a TT if you aren't fully comfortable with it.
