I'm going to be woefully under-prepared for Friday. :(

OLR states, as long as you have two wheels on track, you are ok.

The red Curb is part of the track.

We're not running the ORL. And it doesn't say Curb is track, you're thinking of WRS, hold on I'll get the rule for you.👍

Edit:

J:
Cutting the chicanes or "shorting" the track at any point is strictly prohibited on all parts of the track, including the asphalt-areas in behind out-of track-lines. Track specific boundaries will be clarified in the Race Specifics section of any given event.

Pretty much Furi's rules, kinda wish we had a sort of general acceptance on what's good and what's not, the V8 Challenge have had quite a lot of arguments over it, with 2 on tarmac being the preferred option but it's hard not to go 4 on curb sometimes.

Yes, that is WRS rules too, but it's also down to the Series Head what track rules he puts in place.

Yes, but putting the rules down a couple of days before the race is a bit annoying.

As you can see, I try to keep two wheels on track at all times. The outside strips on the exits of the corners allow you to run wide, but if you end up too wide you are in the gravel, so you do not lose much time.

Running wide is accepted, corner cutting is not. 4 wheels off tarmac cornering qill result inpenalties. Also after Parabolica, there is a stretch of tarmac on the left that is part of the old Monza that merges with the frontstretch. You are NOT permitted to use this to overtake, it is considered off-limits.

Re-posted. These have been used since Season 2. The bold was added after an incident with me and Knelly in S3.

Furi, half of those pictures are using less curb than others...

But half of them show what I said. The Apex curb is part of the track, and as long as you have two wheels on...

The car naturally understeers and rolls out wide under exit speed.

I thought it wasn't an overtake, you had just swerved off to the side to avoid him drafting you? It was one of many incidents I didn't bother with checked on in S3.:sly:

Edit: MustangRyan has a couple of diagrams on what's legal and what's not for NASCAR, very good, if only we could find them...

Yeah but we decided that was past track limits.

Yeah his pics are rather inconsistant..

I think he's basically trying to show that cutting the corners isn't acceptable (two wheels on tarmac), but running wide and using a bit more curb on the outside is acceptable if it isn't abused. 👍

Correct.

Cutting corners is firbidden in most forms of racing however running wide in corners e.g. exiting the last chicane at Monza is legal as you are making your driving line longer than the track itself, therefore you gain no advantage.

A reminder, as of this weekend TOCA is officially 7pm to 9.30pm. Lobby opens at 7, but no cars permitted on track until 7.10pm for 15 min Legends Quali.

Also final submission for any replacement team-mates for any teams is Friday at 9pm, if I receive nothing by then an independent gets awarded the place.

I'm happy to announce I'll be racing this weekend at Monza for TC Engineering in the Infiniti. Gokartman said he was having issues lining up two drivers for the weekend and I'm looking forward to hopefully bringing home some points for the team 👍

Due to general laziness, I'm going in blind this weekend with no testing at Monza. :scared:

Should be a lot of fun, although I haven't had any time in the car I've had a couple of good results at Monza lately in IndyCar and the Sprint Cup. Will be fun to race with you guys again
