I knew who Senna was, and I knew he was "the best" :) and I distinctly remember telling my aunt about Senna's death and letting her know that he was the best and if it happened to him it could happen to anybody. I used to ride my bicycle around their big driveway in a similar layout to Monza, and I remember the day Senna died my inside pedal caught the ground going through my version of "curva grande", had a massive crash that tore up my knee and elbow...one of those things, people remember where they were when man landed on the moon, or when 9/11 happened, I will always remember the day Senna died.

Wow. I was born 17 days after he died. It's sorta saddening to think that my only experience of Senna will be from watching races from the past.

I got to watch a few races of him years ago but I was only young

This weekend for me:

2 BTCC 2nd places on my debut.
2 3rd places in Thunder
2nd in NASCAR 100 laps of Daytona.

I'm feeling confident ahead of this season :gtpflag:

I just won the Swifts series, and got two wins and a 3rd place in WTCC.

So yeah, me too. ;)

Sounds like quite a few are hitting top form then, should be interesting.

NASCAR success doesn't equal to TOCA success, Furi. ;)

Oh wait, probably I shouldn't say that. Oh well, my excellent Monaco races yesterday evening were a true sign of things to come. :sly:

is there 3 more tests before the season starts and also will there be a launch night like there was for 4.1 and 4.2

might test tomorrow then be at tuesday's test and then start on wednesday leaving me 17 days to complete it before the season starts

being American I was at a disadvantage in terms of watching Formula One on tv at least as a young kid, but they showed most of the Indycar races and we went to Road America all the time for many series, and always Indycar. Got to see some really famous drivers at the fastest road course in North America topping 200 mph 3 different times on track and averaging 140mph+ over a 4.0 mile lap

of course this is the early 90s when Indycars were on par with F1 on performance with 1000 hp

there was a good streaming video channel that I watched obsessively this winter/spring that showed full F1 seasons from the 80s/90s/00s and got to see all those great drivers racing, cars failing constantly, Nigel Mansell's near misses at world champion, Senna before he was Senna, Prost before everyone knew he was a jackass...great races but the channel got shut down :guilty:

Where and when is the next test?

I wouldn't mind a bit of Motegi so long as everyone has it or bit of all tracks for S5.

I thought they were meant to be tuesdays, but I'm not sure. I think we've covered all the tracks in test sesions now, so it'll be wherever Furi feels like.

I still haven't added that little extra oversteer to the Mazda, so I'll do that for the next test.

motegi probably won't be in S5 as people might not get the DLC straight away

all tracks have been covered iirc
