Wonder how long it'll take my #52 Shedden points to dip out of top 12 :P.

Funny Nel coulda sworn you just went to bed...

Too fast for me to be too slow... 2.05 so far...

Then again I used my DFGT which I have little experience with. :dopey:

I'm a noob to the series so I was trying to be on point with my braking points not to overdrive the car and it seemed like a lot of ppl were dive bombing corners early and often to win the race on the first lap. On top of that my car seemed to lack top end and it could be bc it is not fully broken in yet. Regardless I think i'm gonna be on the outside looking in most of the series but, its fun to be part of such an established series. The left hander before the hump and the hairpin I got punted twice in heat two and once in heat three which ruined my races essentially but, i'm laid back. Its all good. It was fun and I hope to qualify for most of the series.

Sounds good. Ill be checking the forum frequently. This is a live bunch we got here. Ill be into some practicing this week. Ill look to see if anyone is doing some test/tune

Crap, I'm missing Monza? Aw well, the Mazdas might run away/keep up with Spurgy there.

If the transmission is setting accordingly to the speeds we're reaching. I almost hit the limiter under the draft in the main straight at Cape Ring.. Maximizing acceleration. :sly:

By the way, which speed in kilometers per hour those cars can reach under the draft before braking for the 1st chicane at Monza?

I'd say about 255km/h, but at least they aren't Camrys. Otherwise you'd be looking at OVER 9,000km/h!!!

I must say I was outraged during race 3 at how often I got bumped in braking zones or right in the midst of a corner in the worst possible moment so the car got pushed out of balance and I had to lift off exiting the corner. One example being PaulMac (pardon me for singling you out) in the hairpin after the chicane...he bumped me, I had to lift off so as not to run wide, and instantly I lost 2 spots, 2 more cars were all over me in the long right hander towards the esses, and I ended up side by side with Smuffy for the last right and a little bump was enough to send me off flying into the barrier at 190 km/h. When I finally rejoined I had lost something like 7 positions. Because of 1 little bump.

Looking at the replay though, some of the contact I had the misfortune to be a part of, was right on the edge of punishable offenses, but not over. A lot of it was just bad luck resulting from an unfortunate combination of events.

Nevertheless, I would suggest to some people, that even though your car might be faster mid-corner, you cannot just drive into the car in front of you as if it wasn't there every time. That's not how it's done. Not in "minimal contact" racing series and not in this one. Also, when you see 5 cars in a tight bunch going into a corner side by side, you could do the sensible thing and back off a little so as not to add to the trouble, which is bound to occur even without you. It seems that noone goes through the trouble of actually trying to AVOID mayhem. Of course, Cape Ring South sort of lends itself to this kind of race because of the 3 hairpins.

I think a lot of this comes out of the reverse grid format. I'm still a fan of using this system, but it would produce even better races, if the faster guys starting at the back showed a little more restraint in getting towards the front again.

Just my opinion.

I don't even know who you are so no insults coming from me

:embarrassed: Must... stop... agreeing... with sworn enemy....

Was thinking the same , but yeah, I agree with the man :P

 I'm still not taking part, but, I decided to read what sort of a reception my comments got. Glad to hear I'm as popular with Dax & Furi as ever.

Spurgy and neljack, I had a bad race (or, rather, a bad qualifying session) in a series Dax organized a while ago. Doesn't matter.

One last thing, did anyone notice their cars change in PP? That's the certain buzz of the threads recently; all of the rabbits are gone. Scirocco etc., might have different specs. (P.S., that totally just brought this comment into this century. Or at least this year.)

Not just qualifying... Remember me? :dopey:

Did a 1.59.5, the secret is to drive around quickly :sly:

Did a 1:59.9 in both Mazda and VW in my tests a couple of weeks ago. I think the Infiniti had very good speed as well (as proven by your 59.5)

I'm hoping tyre wear will not be as much of a factor for the FF's in Monza. The last 2 or 3 laps on Cape Ring were not that much fun anymore. Could have something to do with my smoking outside tyre though. :D Where are the tuning specialists ... how do you get rid of that again...lower LSD Acceleration settings...?

Not just qualifying... Remember me? :dopey:

Yes. My temper got the best of me following the qualifying session incident. I just never expected to be spun on a quali lap. :grumpy:

I still am really sorry for letting my temper get to me that day.

Happened to me mate in the qualifier race, and pretty much why I wasn't racing with you guys today. Either take it like a man and move on (:sly:), or if there's something that you feel that something must be done about it, then PM a steward, telling them what happened.

I can consistently lap 2:00.0xx in my Audi, and then if its wet IRT will have a great chance of winning as DK in the only other Audi isn't here :sly:

@SnowCrash I'm sorry for sliding into you out of that left hander (possibly T3) but I had no control of the car as it was on the grass :(

This happens too much in all racing series and especially in random lobbies. People don't seem to consider the accordion effect. If you are following a car, you cannot brake at your usual braking point, you have to brake earlier to avoid ploughing straight into the back of the car in front.

I've had it so many times in racing series, you keep getting bumped at every braking zone- sometimes you've just passed the guy and are clearly faster, but just can't pull away because you get bumped at every braking zone. :irked:

Although I will admit that I wasn't happy when I got 7th and missed a qualifying spot by 1 place :indiff: .

Shame, I would have enjoyed racing with you again last night :(

Anyways, Monza next week, Watch out Spurgy as Furi dared me to win again :sly:

You had to be there, mate. You wouldn't understand without reading all of my posts from the last page & this one.

Problem; PP etc., was just changed a few days ago. The main concern I have is that people mightn't notice the difference until later in the season. The forums are exploding with "New PP" threads.

The way the calculate PP has been changed, but that doesn't affect the cars. Pre 2.10 PP balancing was quite useful, you could get a lot of cars within about a tenth of each other with a variation of about 5 or 10 pp. These cars were all finalized well before 2.10. The PP's were different then, and now the difference in PP is just a little bigger now. The cars are all fairly well balanced, even though the PP's may not show that :)

Remember me from that series :sly:
