If you're talking about comedic, I think his requirements were broken before the patch.
I've raced him without Neon, same as ishi and his requirements of no aero.

I talked about it a few pages ago (precisely on page 18) on this thread, it happened to me too in version 0.10.1, that to challenge Comedic Disruptor i had to mount the neon lights when in the description it was written that i shouldn't.

Noticed on Nexus there are 2 new mods this past week that now change the aftermarket bodykit parts. It's going to be fun seeing this game grow with the modding community imo, although the fact the bodykits replace parts instead of adding may be an early sign of limitations.

Well, my worries about my PC coping didn't come to fruition. I'm able to leave it at 60fps with mostly medium (shadows low, so I can go textures high) and I can't complain how it looks.
And what a sweet game it is. We waited long enough, but unlike TDU, it was totally worth it. The camera took a bit of getting used to, but once I was past that, I think the cars handle more fluidly than I remember of any previous entry and chasing down, and getting away from rivals still makes this my favourite fighting game.

Skill Issue question: Which car should I buy to defeat Final flight? That race is basically on straights and I made the grave mistake of buying the Mark X (which has a ridiculously long gear ratio) instead of going for an RX7 or maybe a Supra? Thanks.

RX-7 seems to be the fastest stock car if we go by the speed metric, though other cars in the same range should suffice.

If we're going by what to use for Cinderella and gloomy angel right before, this is way out of left field.
The NB miata. For some reason, the Miata's speed rating is just shy of 366 when maxed out at Stage 2. I have both the NB miata and the 180SX maxed out, and it's night and day difference.
For comparison, my 180SX is only 338
That's NA by the way, imagine the rating once a turbo's slapped on with the stage six engine

jangelelcangry was talking about just Final Flight/Last Flight who only battles against players with a completely stock vehicle. I was struggling to think of what to challenge them with myself as I also tried the Mark X.
Beat Melancholic Angel and Cinderella Past Midnight last week with about 16 hours into the game. Just slowly getting through the Wanderers now and glad to have the more powerful vehicle unlocked. Though I'm afraid I went on a spending spree with my BP for some stupid reason before beating Cinderella. So I fear I won't have enough to unlock all the actual useful stuff and cars once I beat the Wanderers. Sort of wondering if I should start over again, which I suppose I wouldn't mind.
At least pre-nerfing of Melancholic Angel, it took me 21 tries.... Felt like it took quite a while to wear down her tires and have her screw up the start. (Of course got the B.A.D. name of Loser)

The main thing is 180SX's powerband has a narrower range, lower revs and more torque, which is great for drifting but not so much for top speed runs. I did notice that this plays more of a part than it did in the PS2 games, where you could just concentrate more on raw horsepower and the actual engine stats weren't that critical.
It also seems like knowing at least the basics of transmission tuning will be a lot more helpful this time too. I definitely found that messing with the GT86's upper gears helped a lot in making it actually pull past rivals when it finally got up into 5th.

Just got done with the early access of Tokyo Xtreme Racer. And can I say, what an incredible game it is? Here I was about to lose faith in the racing genre because every game I played started to feel either stale or tiresome, notably devs losing their originally of what made their games great, or the games' formula changing so much they lost their flavour (ala GT and Forza). I forgot how fun racing games felt back in the 2000's when they had so much character, vibe, as well as progression.
Every game just wants to be a live service (nothing wrong with that, but it's often how they go about it, which is usually FOMO and adding an obnoxious grind, i.e. purposely make grinding for credits difficult for the sake of it etc, that it starts to make said games feel like a chore IMO). So dare I say, it felt funny (yet satisfying) to play a game that ACTUALLY felt like a game for once, and having a focus on offline at that! And I can confidently say that, because I got addicted to it.
Oh, and let me also add that TXR '25 worked flawlessly with no crashes! Incredibly rare in today's climate of AAA games which do the total opposite, ESPECIALLY AT LAUNCH. I don't even need to mention TDUSC here, as that game is a total wreakfest from what I've heard (FM '23 included, which I did played at launch).
Anyway, I truly hope TXR becomes successful to the point Genki can start making sequels onward. Need to shake up the competition on how to freakin' make fun and workable games again with online not being the main focus of everything.
