new one :)

I currently have 2 pieces on the go, one of Mischa Barton and another of the Golf W12 600.

Here is the Mischa Barton one, I've currently only done the hair but that has taken ages! I've included the original image directly underneath it so you can see where it's going but it will be a bit more stylised as I'm using the colour palletes shown in the image;

And here is the Golf, which has taken less time so far and now the headlights are done I can get on with the rest of it. It should be noted that I'm not tooning it as such, I'm fully vectoring it in Illustrator as I prefer working that way;

I'll keep this thread updated with more progress as it happens (very slowly).

Moglet very nice work, i love the perspective on the Golf, do you have or know of any tutorials to do hair like the one you are doing on Mischa? 👍

i´ll keep mine up to date also i guess :)

Thanks! Nice Supra too, I love the shading on it.

I've no idea if there are any tutorials available for hair, I just did it my own way as I went along. I tend to look for clumps of colour and then fill those in with one shape with a gradient on it. Then i make that shape invisible and draw in lighter and darker strands and chunks on top of it to fill it out a little.

This is the best I can offer; a closeup of the hair section so you can see how I do it, it might be of some help to you:

I decided to get back to my skyline. So here it is with a finished interior. I'm not posting the full size pic until the end.

I don't know if mine isn't a true vector, or if it's just "my style" but I don't have a color pallet with a certain amount of colors on it. I'm using all the colors I can, but just making the picture more simple. I use almost no gradients at all, mostly for reflections.

Being an outside enviorment in the picture, theres no way I can limit myself on colors, just because there's so many of them.

thanx moglet, i kinda understand how u do the hair and i will def. try that out. Also what do those circles with color mean? are those to show people what colors are being used, or for personal reference? 👍

PerfectBalance that is looking really good, the skyline looks amazing. 👍

Those are the colours I'm using for the vector, I usually adjust them as I go along but they are basically just there for my own reference incase I mess up my swatches or anything like that.

Perfect Balance, that is looking awesome. You've got a really neat style to your vector art, and you're working in much the same way as I usually do; no set pallete and very little gradient work. It's only lately that I've started to branch out a bit more.

This style seems to suit you well though, that car looks spot on.

Sorry everyone, but my Skyline isn't getting finished. This guy was at my house, who decided to "update" my computer. First the monitor stopped working, I fixed it. Then the internet stopped working, I fixed it. Then, while I was at work, he did something else and finished it off. I had to format my drive, and I've lost everything I've collected in the past 3 years. Including the pdf file for the Skyline I've put over 30 hours into.

Sorry man, Major bummer! :(

Hope this isn't going to put you off doing another?
