You have done some fantastic jobs
The latest 3 are very stylish .. can I request a wallpaper size for these 3?
btw maybe I am a bit restless, 3 hours are never enough for me

I decided to give this technique a go since I'm so jealous of it, anyway, it's harder then I expected, guess I need some training on the pen thingy :D

I am NOT looking forward to the colouring, it sounds so hard getting all the reflections in another colour...

Gave up on the Supra, lines were too terrible and too hard for me to continue...However, I've spend 8 hours on this:

Some lines could be better but then again, it's only my second attempt at a vector, or vexel, whatever it is called...Anyone want to give me some tips on how to start colouring this one? I have no idea how to do it...

Start with a base colour for the whole boday, then add highlights, shading and details as you go along. The bodywork is cutting into the front tyre though, looks like you'll have to rearrange your layers a tad.

I CAN'T BELIEVE NOBODY GOT IT!

It's Villenueves 1979 Ferrari 312T!!

(Not sure about the year though)

I'd have got it, but i arrived here a few million years late to answer it :\

Thanks man, I'm still figuring out where to place the highlights and shadows, so it'll take a while before it turns out good 👍

Bah, I give up, I simply cannot colour this thing. When I did like in the tutorials, with the poly lasso tool around the car and brush it, all my lines were gone. If select all the different areas, the corners turn out messy...Meh 👎

That doesn't work either, I have the background layer, the original wiht other words, on top of that one the layer I filled with the colour and on top of that one the image I posted a few posts back, fiddling with the combinations does not work...

I've always used the pen tool in Illustrator for every single part of every one of my vectors. I've never understood the whole lasoo thing. You can shade a car body really well once you've got the hang of the gradient mesh tool without the need for lasooing etc.

Maybe you're mixing up the layers and don't know it? I've done that.

Oh yeah... illustrator, haven't used that in awhile. Anyway, if you are in PS I'd recommend the pen tool and paths.

When you started a new layer to draw the outlines on was it a transparent layer? If not that could pose a problem.

I created a new layer and filled that one with a white colour, it was transparent at first so I filled it, otherwise, I couldn't see my lines...

Unofrtunately that means you won't be able to really do much about it. :scared: That's why I always work in Illustrator, especially when drawing outlines. It's so much easier using the pen tool and then just setting the width of the outline.👍

You start with 3 layers, the base, a white layer and the layer with your lines. Then you can remove the white layer when you don't need it no more.
