Yeah mine is a DeLorean, I saw one drive past at my local cruise about 2 weeks ago. I probably will take ages on this as I seem to with all other computer art nowadays, just don't have the time to do them.

Does anyone use the program Sketch Up for ther tooned cars.
SketchUp doesn't work that way, but I do have some SketchUp stuff I've done while designing buildings:

@.star. -👍 That is pretty amazing, gotta love all that details you put. Must've been a pretty time consuming piece. :D

Everyone has been turning up great pieces in here.

I use Illustrator for line work + colouring mainly because I don't have any other software and I've never tried other softwares as well. :indiff:

@GTP : :dopey:

Finally completed after losing the source file... this is a rebirth of a new old work.

I think, and would like to think, that most people here use Photoshop. Don't waste the mony on Illustrator unless you really want to work with a fully vector based program. Photoshop (as has been proven now) does do vectors properly, but i'm guessing not as well as Illustrator. For this sort of stuff, just stick to Photoshop OR PS Elements 👍

Thats cool, I just wanted to get a rough idea of who here uses what sort of thing. But yea I use Illustrator for the line work and PhotoShop for the colouring. Oh and i was just asking, i wasn't like having a go at anyone or anything like that 👍

WIP - RX-8 (line work is almost complete, I just need to finish of little details and draw the wheels). Will post a WIP later today, only because its getting late and i have to wake up in like 6 hours, so i cant be bothered right now :P.

That looks great! I can't wait to try my hand at this. Thanks so much for doing this. If you use Photoshop, can you provide me with the raw, layered file, so I can dissect how you did it? I hate to impose on you so much, but it's an interesting technique. I'm always looking for ways to make images more friendly and sketchy, since it helps clients see designs as less-than-finished. If you present buildings as LOOKING very complete, they tend to get the idea that the design IS very complete, so I'm looking for ways to make those perspectives look more hand-done even though it is an actual 3-D model.

Here's an work in progress of my latest. Took 3 hours this afternoon (but i actually did the lines about 6 months ago) and i think it's looking alright. Another 3 hours at least going to go into it over the weekend and it should look fine. Pretty much just gotta do the rims and the lights, but also a little bit of shading along the side of the car + windows.

Don, youre missing about 7 more outlets on the rear fascia diffuser. :D
You lost sight of function on the colors when you tried making it look too complex.
Take it down a notch.

@ IR: Nope, only one outlet on this picture. Must be a different kit. Finished it now, just adding the final touches. Personally, the colours look cool, but i know it's impossible to see bad things in your own work. I can't really see how to change them, so they'll stay as they are until i can see a way.
Also i didn't do those damn rims because they're just too time consuming.

That is awesome! My only gripe (as if it matters) is IMO, the rear wheel looks a little weird. Other than that, awesome piece. 👍

Wow, that is very nice donbenni. I really like the details like the burnt exhaustttip and the tirepattern. It sure gives some ideas watching others ideas of how tooning is done.

Really like that skyline, star.

I had some time over tonight so I continued on the project started a few days ago.

You guys who have done this for a while, any suggestions/comments so far since it's my first go at this? I know, there's not much done, but still. :)

I saw the tread and the burnt exhaust tip, but I didn't say anything about them...:odd: Oh well. Very nice touches indeed. 👍

The lines are all a little too thick and not very curved. If you are to do it, you might want to start again as the product will be pretty messy. Line variation adds a whole extra dimension to the art.

Yeha, I had no intention on finishing it. It's something I did several months ago (just trying out your tutorial BTW :)) and I didn't really like what I had done so I never finished it.

thanx. its the same supra you did. or at least the same kit, if im right. (do-luck).

i think i may have to redo parts of it since with that thick outline it messes things up doing wheels. dont get me wrong though i like the thick border so i'm keeping it, just not near the wheel wells.

cool ****. just my opinion but stronger highlights and shadows can help :) but thats just what i think. i havent done that much with the vector but i try.
