Nice going Shant, missed those updates 👍

Just a quickie from today :) http://www.deviantart.com/view/16645799/

Well, jsut stopped in here to say that my work will msot likely be featured on a website's t-shirts. The owner loves my style out of all for some reason. Oh well, i'll keep you guys updated if I ever bother to keep you updated. :dopey:

@don : For something you refer to as a "quickie" that is really good. A "quickie" vector from me lasts something like 2374892734 hours. :dopey: BTW Don, you gotta tell me how you make those nice looking CF patterns.

@Auto : I re-traced them, is there an auto trace function in AI? :dunce:

@Chaos : Congratulations :D

U18, very cool dragon you got going there. :)

Donbenni, read your second tut and discovered how much double work I do with my poor usage of the features in PS. Never bothered to even check out how the paths folder is setup. Never used "fill path". And so on... Will give it a try if I have another go to make the tooning more time-efficient.

And nice MR2 btw. Love how nice the paint looks with such little (?) effort. 👍

Yeah in comparison to my previous few pieces, the amount of time spent on the MR2 is quite small. And yeah i'm pretty happy with how nice it came out with such little effort ;)

Glad you found something of use in the tutorial :D

Apparently there is. If scoured AI myself for it and have yet to find it.
Should be really helpful for those scanned in drawings.
If you find it, let me know. :)

Chaos, what website?

The only thing I've managed to find is :

Edit > Preferences > Type & Auto Tracing.

I've yet to it and see what it does (or how it functions).

EDIT :

Adobe Streamline..use it to covert scanned lineart into vector format...its not cheating! =D

Thanks initial and ALPHA. :)

Yes, I'm very pleased so far too with the shading. Only bottom part of the body done so far, hope I can get the upper part looking equally good.

After seeing what you guys are doing in Illustrator, I feel like quitting this before I get to far and using that...

What are you guys mainly using to get the beautiful gradients? The gradient mesh method, or something else?

Flash MX just isn't cutting it anymore... If Illustrator had the same line tool, I'd have been using that from the beginning.

I need to hurry this up. This thing has to be printed and everything before the 11th...

I dunno what others use, but i use Photoshop. However i don't include many grads. People that use Illustrator i believe use the grad mesh yeah.

I have no ****ing (:dopey: ) clue whatsoever how to use the mesh tool properly. :grumpy: I just use those normal gradients.. gotta learn the mesh ones sometime.

Lovely Scooby btw, hope to see more of it soon! 👍

Here's my WIP of the WTCC Daewoo...eh, I mean Chevrolet. :D

(First time using AI too!)

So, you're choosing even crappier cars then me? :D :dunce:

Good luck with it, looks like fun, good so far.

I just finished the 240, still room for lots of subtle improvement but I'm tired of it now. Pretty pleased anyhow. Any comments/criticism appreciated. :) Had to make up much of the ligthing due to the crappy original.
