I just want to say thanks for the great competion everyone and here's to many more challenges.

Cheers!

As winner of comparason #7, would Korza493 like to run the next one?
If not, I have something expensive up my sleeves, or something summery by this time tommorrow.

I'm liking the sound of what you have up your sleeve Car-less, so you can run it if you want to.
Also, where are these dancing girls you speak of, BH-21?

I am extremely diaspointed. I was hoping that the rumour was true but yet again I have been disapointed. :(

We should get Car-less or SVX to order some in for the winner of the next challenge.

Gee, at 14, I though I'd be the youngest.

EDIT: By the way, you guys like the avatar pic? I looked up BMW M3 GTR Race Car and entered the appropriate sizing. This came up.

Top Gear Comparason #8: 500hp Road Car

img0015b.jpg

We have already seen what 500hp is like in a race car, now you will find out what 500hp feels like in a car that you can use every day.

Obtain yourself a road car with close to 500 hp. It does not matter how much your car costs - all that matters is that its power is close to 500 hp.

Eligible cars can be found all over. New, Used, Prizes and Legendary cars. For the purposes of this comparason concept cars that later made it into production are also permitted, but tuners are not.

You are permitted to choose a less powerful car and bring its power closer to 500hp by changing the oil, but no other modifications are allowed.

No settings may be changed except for driving aids which are optional.

* When I say about 500 hp, I mean close. Up to 5% deviation will be permitted, but any more than that will really hurt your scores.

** As GT4 awards you a 5% power increase for changing the oil in a new car, those with as low as 453hp will be eligible after they have had an oil change. Cars above 500hp are not permitted to have their oil changed.

*** Deadlines will be set for each challenge, and I'll be deducting 1 point per hour for anyone that misses a deadline. Consider this the virtual equivalent to points being deducted for breakdowns.

You will be compared against the Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG which has exactly 500hp after an oil change.

You have 72 hours to find and announce your chosen car(s).

Nice choice Car-less, I'll pick a car within a day or so.

@ Hurricanine You're avatar is actually a BMW Z4 GT3 Race Car, looks good though.

Hi, im new here and i picked up MERCEDES BENZ SL 600 '0g 493 HP (not oiled) Good luck ;)

Good news. The showroom literature might say that the MB SL 600 '04 has 493hp, but when you get it home to your garage you will find that it has exactly 500hp.

Edit: I was expecting both this and the SL 55 AMG to be popular, but didn't expect them both to be chosen within 1 hour! ...and I have no problem with them both being run as one has a V8, the other a V12.

Don't worry Huricanine, there are about 20 eligible cars so you should be able to find something else.

Take it if you want, I'll run the Aston Martin instead.

Nah, see my above post, I got the Saleen S7. Truth be told, this competition actually gave me an excuse to buy it.

To be more descriptive:

Horsepower: 550 (w/o oil change)
RPM: 6400
Torque: 526.98 ft.lb/4000 RPM
Weight: 1250 kg
Drivetrain: MR
Displacement: 7008cc
Color: Saleen S7 Silver

HOLD UP, is that too much deviation? I can change it. The car, I mean.

With 558hp when you get it to your garage, it'll really cost you in the first round but the performance might be enough to keep you in the running.

I'd recommend running it as an alternative rather than your main entry.
