Top Gear Test Track in Gran Turismo 5!

It will have to be a time trial only circuit since it's a figure of eight circuit with no over pass.
Hmmm... Demolition derby in Gran Turismo? Maybe?
That would be great. Watching a Honda Civic get run over and seeing it go flying...:sly:

In the E3 demo, there are 8 cars on track racing. It can work if you race for 2-3 laps, more than that would be disaster (unless it's a online race with collision off).

Sometimes there is another test-track featured in Top Gear, the Millbrook Proving Ground.

I really would love to see that track in GT5. Sure it would not be possible to access the entire track at ones. But they could make the various parts of the track as variations. So you could perfectly set up you car.

i hope so too, i think even if it was just that track we should have the option... why else would they put the track in the game if you couldn't emmulate exactly what you would see on top gear. Personally to me if they put the top gear track on there and didn't let you choose between the two different starts I'd be dissapointed.

I mean I love the fact its there, but if you can't do a standing start... it's just not the same

There was a GT5 video showing a Lotus Esprit and Chevy Camaro and some other cars at what looks like a standing start.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYn2iPSYD18 - There it is, if you look closely at the beginning, you'll see it :) Hopefully this means a choice between a standing/rolling start in races :)

I've always liked the Fiat test track on top of their Lingotto factory, it isn't used anymore ofcourse ( probably due to safety regulations ).:)

Thanks, yes I missed GT3 completely. At the point where I had the first chance to play a PS2, Gran turismo 4 was already released.

By the way just thought I would add, recently in the Top Gear Magazine they had a competition to drive a nissan 370z and to do a lap with the stig in a nissan GT-R and the first part of the training for the finalists was to play GT5 on Top gear Test Track. Looked like good fun, I just wish I was old anouther to drive aas I would have so entered.

-> My brain itches a bit. I'm wondering if the folks at PD will include the other Top Gear test track? Like this one:

Unfortunately, it only looks like it'll be the Test Track. Sorry bud, maybe next time.

With such unoriginal corner names like that, there is no way that Aussie version will make its way into the game. Besides, it looks extremely dull with two too many bus stop-type elements.

Hi all, first post here, hopefully the first of many. :)

Can't wait to play the Top Gear test track, should be good fun hammering cars around such a twisty circuit, some corners to really get 2-wheel action as well! Any chances of a lap-time competition when the game launches, and if there is could someone direct it to me? Thanks, and can't wait to race with you all!

So after reading the first page of that article in the TG magazine, it seems like there is no ghosting or anything preventing crashes at TGTT. Seems like Kaz really likes the fact there can be huge crashes there. My hope is that any 16 car races on TGTT are not included in championships or lengthly races. I kind of hope 16 car races are arcade or quick race only, and not associated with the career mode. Crashes there could get annoying if they are in career races. Otherwise, fun!!

Agree, or any other version for that matter. The hosts name the show.

I hope this hasn't been done as of yet, but here is a list of cars from the official list that are on the Top Gear power boards, with current board place and lap times included. This is by no means a definitive list, and there will be errors (cars named differently in UK than elsewhere, as is the case with the Evo's and some cars like Opel/Vauxhall/Saturn etc.) so corrections are very welcome.

It worries me that the Test Track isn't available in arcade mode (or at least wasn't in the first video) while nearly all the others were. Does that mean we only can play the Test Track in the Stig challenge? I was so excited about attempting to take on the Stig's times. Also a bit upset over no Kia Cee'd, Suzuki Liana, and Chevy Lacetti. But I suppose I'll get over it. Maybe they didn't include them to keep the competition on the show fair.

Nurburgring Nordschleife and TG test track weren't in practice mode, but might be in arcade mode, or might be unlocked via the TG and AMG events.
Sorry, I guess I didn't know to differentiate between the two. Thanks. I just assumed practice was arcade.

Looking at the SSR7 vid I think practice mode has no opponents. I don't know the reason it's missing from practice, just guessing.

Oh and didn't someone already beat the Veyron's record in an Audi at a GT5 event?
