I can finally do lap of the touge track without being killed by either the car or the guardrails! I'm happy now. I'm comfortably lapping 3:51's so I'm going to have to spend a day trying to push and try for 3:45.

I'm barley making 4:00 flat in my car.
I mess up on the same corner everytime though.

Theres about 6 turns I mess up or nearly mess up every time. I can hit low 3.50s with errors id say 3.48 or so is my limit unless I pull a car out of nowhere.

Just take it easy for a couple of laps, get comfortable then start pushing a bit more every following lap. I think the only reason I'm getting 3:51's in the first place is because of the car though. I'm not doing anything special.

I wouldnt have problems If I had a Wing. I cant get traction worth crap coming out of low speed corner's. Although I'm not the best Tuner anyway. I'm sure my Suspension could use work.

After my short hiatus this should be fun! Of course, it hasn't quite shaken out like that yet. :embarrassed:

Had a drive on Songai Shinro last night in my lounge and about put my DS3 through my TV. Almost gave up after 3 laps. Took it offline and I'm getting used to it now. Still a long way to go though. I'm reasonably certain I have my car chosen and I'll be running it into the ground to find a way around the course and get it tuned. I haven't run online much at all so this will be a new experience. 👍

Going online I lost 6 second's on my RX-7.

 Dude, push harder. My Spoon is doing 4:00.xxx with nothing other than a softenedVTiR suspension setup and a toned down IT350R diff. And it has 455PP and 250hp only :D

Ah... that'll be a benchmark time to see what my LotS Beta car can do. 👍

If I had an FF Honda that handled like it was on rails, I could push hard too. :P However instead I have an MR Honda that handles like it wants to kneecap the spectators at 140.

Want to have a go? You know the front spring rates go up to 19.0?!? And why didn't you choose your FD2R? You love that thing to hell and back :D

Tomorrow if I can be arsed, sure. I know how stiff the Spoon gets compared to the normal EK9. It's nuts. I love the FD2R but I love the NA2R more. :P

Yea, it's like the Spoon's taken an overdose of Viagra  And enough of the chassis code references, it makes us seem nerdy :dopey:

Do tuners need to have a verified time, or can they just hand the car over to the testers? (I'm not a good driver so my time would most likely be around 6 min.)

If the tuner wants to compete for a place in the online tournament, they'll have to get their times verified.

The FD2R. My favourite car in the game. :D

I have about 8 or 9 in my garage each with a different tune from here. kinda overkill. :dopey:
I have one that I use mostly and its a light tune with parts from a few different tuning companies here. The dampers and LSD settings are from RKM, Spring rates from Spoon, Anti-roll bars from JG 's tune shop .

OT: I've tried driving my FD2R on Songai Shinro today and its not bad for a car with about 250hp and 432pp. I was able to get just under the 4minute mark but the course also revealed a major flaw in the car, sharp turn in then lots of mid corner understeer. I think I'm going to start reducing its weight to see if it helps with minimizing the pushing. 👍

Just ran one of my Pocket Monsters around the course for fun. Have to use stock transmission as the 5 speed close ratio has you bouncing off the rev limiter at about 95mph:mad: Don't understand the logic in that gearing at all. Even with the stock transmission you hit the rev limiter before cresting the hill on the start/finish straight. Very easy car to get around the course but I wasn't pushing very hard and didn't have my normal tune on it so...4:07 was my best time. Not really competitive but then I didn't expect it to be. But a fun easy car to learn the course with.:D

The bold part answers your question on the logic of the gearing. It's 'close ratios'. Very short for quick acceleration.

You can still install a final drive that doesn't top out so low.

The so called close ratio transmissions are worthless on a lot of cars and tracks because they so severely limit top speed. PD should have made the rear end separate from the transmission so you could swap out rear end gearing without installing a full racing transmission.

+1 👍

Soooo, the testing question...
Shared cars can't be taken online, what do we do for entries we don't have/untradables?

Cars that can't be traded are an issue for everyone, cars that can only be bought in the ucd are an issue for at least me. Figured I should mention it early rather then late.

Well, it works very well for my Nissan Bluebird, gets me around a track 5 seconds quicker.

Off topic, but does anyone know what 'free market' means in economic terms? Any explanations (Simple, please, and in either VMs or PMs) will be very much appreciated.

Good question. Maybe you could get that particular car through a ticket? But I'm sure the cars that can race here can be traded.

Yes, I've mentioned this point but haven't put it anywhere noticeable in the OP. The car chosen must be tradeable and each tuner submitting the entries must have 2 copies of the car. One for them to keep and another to be sent out.

Therefore, we test drivers should have at least a full set of the tunes. As we go, we can build some to be tested as we go and can send them to other test drivers if need be.

Probably been mentioned but can LOTS players be test drivers and compete?

Regular LotS players can be test drivers and can compare their times with the Test Drivers. The times will still be collected. But even if they get the best times, they won't be eligible to be selected for the Finals Online Tournament.

EDIT: Post #2 will be where all the news and updates will be for the Tuners and Test Drivers
