but why, simply why.............this means that this game was being developed along side gt4 and because of this game polyphony did not put enough time into the online section of gt4...........simply put this is stupid, and it's not even liscenced to a racing series. now if there is a racing series polyphony should aquire and i think thew would do brialantley in is the Formula 1 liscence. if they make that game it will over shadow any existing and future Formula 1 titles. rallying maybe, just maybe eventhough i prefer rallying :dopey:

What is your reason to think Tourist Trophy has to do anything thing with no online mode in GT4? Tourist Trophy has a different team of developers and even a different game director, so the TT team doesn't even have to do anything with Gran Turismo 4.

Ill definitely have to give this a try when it comes out. I hope you can fully tune the bikes and possibly race modify them. I agree with Benjii on the wheelie and stoppie contests. I am not really into the superbikes and all that, I am more into the choppers, but all that may change.
I have a couple of questions that i want to try and answer:

If it is supposed to be like GT with bikes, will there be rally racing and specially modded bikes?
Will there be any hill climb events and bikes for those?

The 'ring on a Hayabusa... sounds fun and very fast

Thats a good point.

Bikes dont rally per se, but you could quite easily incorporate say MX or Trails, Speedway or Hillclimbs like you suggested to break it up.

That would be pretty cool. I hated the rallying in GT4 for the most part but it made a change from continuously trying to beat my own Minolta times.

Guess we could also see a return of the challenges.

true. As i read earlier in the thread on the tomahawk, Id love to see it in there myself. Come on now, what red blooded insane speed demon wouldn't want a bike like that, handiling with that thing, WHO CARES!!!!! ITS F*&%ING FAST and full of shiny pretty things to make it go fast. To be honest that bike is one that i would not wanna ride due to its massive amount of power, but it is still cool to look at.

Looks like it's on rails. I hope we're able to break the tires free and slide a bit.
Maybe he never got on the gas hard enough...I hope.

Agreed. Though Shichisawa did choose a 600 on default (arcade) tyres. Maybe the ZX-10 was skipped for a reason.;)

thanks for the screenies spoony, however does anyone have a shot of a crash or flipout?

wow its funny to see bikes in the showrooms instead of cars-its looks very well presented and it will be interesting to play- assuming it is coming to uk shores?
i'll presume it is!

yes looks nice, does anyone know a release date? and price?

Looks pretty good.
It would appear that they have also considered how usless the mirrors are on most real bikes and therefore made it not necessary to see them in the onboard view. :sly:
Unless the rider is leaning forward in that view and that's why they aren't visible.

Modelling each bike (including controls, dials etc) would be quite an undertaking. I’d be interested to see a PD car vs bike poly count.

It seems to me that this thread unffortunely isn`t so active as we thought it would be :(

Yeah, I think members at gtplanet arent very interested in bikes!?

But when new info, new tracks that arent in GT4 are revealed this thread will be busy again, I think!?

I guess many members never get out of the GT4 forums, so they don't even know there's a forum about Tourist Trophy. I only got out of there once I started to use the "New Posts" button, and now GT4 forums are the ones I visit the less.

Yes thats also true. I accidentally got out of the GT4 forum discovering that there is a whole lot more here on gtplanet!

Suzuki TT Superbikes kicked ass. Ive had 2 different Honda CBR 600's, '95 & 2000. Superbikes TT was a $19.99 title for the ps2. As long a Tourist Trophy has the same wheelie and stoppie freedom as that game. It will be a keeper. I strongly suggest you all buy Suzuki TT Superbikes. Its probally $10 now.

I'm liking the feel of this...

I don't think countersteer, or more specifically, actual handlebar position will be modelled, it changes too often, with too much relying on "feel" for it to be useful in game. You countersteer to push it into a corner, then once over and cornering, let the bars flop back down into the corner. Doing that on a DS2 would be too damn hard. It is a "game" after all and it should be fun, not a punishment. (Mission 34 anyone?)

I think left on the stick to lean left and right for right should do fine.

There's bound to be a Euro release, the market in europe will likely be bigger than the US. In the US, cruisers/choppers/hogs are the main market sector for bikes, in europe it's different. All markets have individual preferences, Germans like adventure sports (R1200GS, KTM Adventure, V-strom, etc.), Italians like their naked streetbikes (Monsters, Z1000, Speed Triple, etc.), and we Brits can't get enough of Superbikes with as much power as possible (R1, GSX-R, 'blade, etc.).

The chances are, proportionally, Europeans will buy more copies than those in the States. It's too big a market to miss for an extra coding sequence that's done on almost every game released.

Considering it's the first "TT" game, I'm guessing it'll be more like GT 1 than 4. Not graphically, it's physics or interface wise, but in it's gameplay characteristics. Think how many cars were in GT1, and manufacturers, not too dissimilar to the figures for TT. So I'm not expecting anything other than roadracing with a reasonably small number of race events. After all every bike mentioned is NA, RWD, and mid engined, throwing the 4WD, FF, FR, MR style races in the toilet. You'll get some back using CC grouping though. Judging by the inclusion of the Sprint ST and VFR, there will be a sports-tourer championship too. The one I like the look of is shown in the video, a whole bunch of big nakeds with white number boards on the front and sides: 1980's AMA superbike! Nowadays you're looking at ZRX1200's, XJR1300's, GSX1400's and Honda CB1300's. One of the best race series ever back then, so many excellent riders, like 500's in the early 90's.

Whether PD can get a licence for WSB or MotoGP or not, I expect race specials will be available; either obsure real ones like endurance championship/suzuka 8 hour bikes or fantasy ones like, say, the FTO LM.

Whatever happens I'm looking forward to it, if only to be able to charge into Grand Valley turn 1 on a GSX-R, backing it in! Then a nice long slide on the exit...

The topic of countersteering came to mind when I read this the other day:

In other words, Rosen is all in favor of whatever builds confidence as a psychological support, a heuristic device, so long as no one thinks there is anything to really be confident about. He writes, “I am suspicious of teachers who claim to have invented the only successful method of bringing out the best in young performers, of theorists who claim to have invented a unique approach to analysis, or of historians who wish to reduce all the developments of the musical style of the past entirely to the determinism of social conditions.”

It also doesn't help that the main proponent of countersteering is a Scientologist; Keith Code's judgement about anything is suspect. If he tells you 2+2=4, you should check the figures.

Just to clarify, are you saying Countersteering is false, or incorrect?

Countersteering is just keeping your balance; to spend any time consciously doing it is like going to a good restaurant and then making sure you chew each bite 10 times.
