I was happy with my qualifying lap since it was very close to my PB during testing.
I was disconnected when the race finished and we returned to the main screen in the lobby,
meaning I didn't get the opportunity to save the race replay.
My start was the best I've ever done, 5th to 3rd within a second and in my blissful ignorance I started
thinking of a podium already.
That was a mistake. Sixty minutes later and I had pitted five times I think and STILL managed to run out of
fuel on the final lap. The last four minutes I had to cruise around the track and never made it to the
chequered.
One of the best things to me is reading all the different versions of what the drivers experienced during
the race.
It's a shame about this situation we're in where every single race produces one or two disconnections
in spite of all precautions taken. It takes away a lot of the enjoyment for me and I get very sad when
it happens.
I read somewhere that too many different countries could be a contributing factor for the issues, but that
has been the charm of this series and I wouldn't want to see that changed. We are up to almost twenty countries
now. I find it incredible.
I will gladly admit I actually felt like a real race car driver for a while during the dark hours, fighting with
@qken and
@David Talle
That is a great memory I will take from this race, guys. 👍
Awesome race ! That is why I joined the GTP community.
Thank you David. Nice to hear that.
My race went better than I expected
You are a very good driver, jammy. I enjoy watching your success in the races.
(funnily enough I got used to that damage without losing that much time...).
I could guess the total amount of fuel needed for this race 238 L, and proved to be accurate as I finished with 1or2 liters left in the tank
This is mad stuff. 👍
About corner cutting. It doesn't belong in proper racing and speaking for myself if I should know I had gained an advantage,
I would make sure I slowed down enough to lose that advantage and get back to status quo.
If you are honest this is what you do. Golden rule.
btw, what is the club policy on the use of the ghost mode-start button before an impact to avoid damage?
Where I can see it as a very good tool is when you miss a braking point by a huge margin and realize you
are going to crash into an opponent. Ghosting yourself at this point is what I would do to avoid damaging my competitor in front.
If you are on your own however and go off track about to hit the wall, no, you take the damage as a man and don't ghost.
Really liked the car though, and love this circuit.
Same for me...
I fell in love with the engine sound when downshifting from 6th to 3rd at full race pace.
I could have raced for another hour just to hear that sound some more.
I don't think track limits are problem if we all respect them.
Precisely. It comes down to how honest you are. Honest with yourself and towards your fellow competitors.
I know I took a gamble with the decision of not including a huge rulebook. Gamble that interest would be reduced because of
it. But this group is very honest and there hasn't been any issues thus far. Self-policing is a good thing too.
Standings will be updated soon.
Oh, and race #5 will be opened up for testing later today. 👍
