So yeah, the prototype for the next generation Supra has finally been caught out in the wild and would you just LOOK AT THAT PROFILE!! On the side, there are a lot of parts sourced from BMW, which may be altered for the production model:

If the production model kept those 666 style wheels.

I'm a bit disappointed that it lost the deeply sculpted sides with the vents. Though I wonder if this isn't really representative giving how early it is.

I think it looks disgusting, but hopefully that's just for testing and not the final shape.

It looks tiny compared to concept. Not sure if I'm feeling this anymore.
Yeah, the whole body looks more like a Z series (i know this is supposed to be shared with BMW Z5) but it reminds me way too much like a Z4 than a Toyota. Less curvy and race car-ish than the FT-1.

Also that rear bumper looks off.

Oh well we'll see how it turns out.

It does look like the FT-1. Check the rear quarter windows, the rear bumper has the air outlets(they're covered slightly). It's got the double hump roof, taillight treatment w/the hatch opening. The front is severely camouflaged. Itlli probably look close to it. The "Ford GT pinch" door and central body look close to the concept as well.

I have no idea why anyone is calling this ugly or is upset right now. This is the earliest of test mules, it's also under very heavy camo so calm down.

You have a point but most people who have a problem with the mule are complaining about how small it is compared to the FT-1. Seeing as mules often ride on the chassis of the production car, I don't see the dimensions changing too much.

Personally, I'm still a fan of the shape and dimensions. Think of the new Supra as a potential Jaguar F-Type V6 S rival and it makes more sense. :sly:

I'd say a decently small and presumably more nimble car would be more interesting than another lardass with more raw technical ability than it knows what to do with to make up for it. As revered as it is 20 years later, that blunt instrument approach is the reason the last Supra entered the market with such a thud that even the buff books were indifferent to it.

And the FT-1 would have been unsellable, so no skin off my nose if it only resembles it in a core concept way.
