It doesn't matter how many times you say it, it'll still be wrong.
It depends on the part of the market you're looking at. Replace Toyota with Nissan and that should reveal the error in your false equivalency.

Wish upon a star all you want, a Cayman buyer wants the badge and the prestige that comes with it. You get none of that with the toyota.

The idea of Porsche loyalists their purists contemplating this ugly toyota, you guys are hilarious.

The car that's actually similar in design and not a humongous rolling pillbox whose sales have collapsed already anyway that has some similar on paper numbers and little else

No one is going to cross shop the Supra and the Camaro and choose the Camaro because people already don't want the Camaro even when the Supra didn't exist. It's no less absurd then when people were saying earlier that Toyota has to be worried about the 370z.

Yes so similar to the mid engine Porsche.

except everyone that can only muster 50k and performance is the criteria.

I don't need to wish upon a star — I know numerous existing Porsche owners who have expressed interest in the Supra.

So yeah, you're still wrong, and will continue to be every time you try to speak on behalf of an entire swath of the automotive market because you bought a decade-old used car once.

Ohh ok so a guy you know showed interest and clearly it means Porsche loyalists are now in droves go buy the toyota even though premium brands attract a different clientele then the like's of Toyota and decades of sales show it.

Mkv is a boy racer.

It usually takes time to make this kind of determination about a car. See how it is received, who buys it, and what is said about it. Sometimes it changes quite a lot over time too, even after car models are discontinued it continues to change quite a bit.

So give it time before you characterize it.

You aren't wrong, but as it stands before all that happens.

The looks the fake vents no manual, its a boy racer.

Dude, your argument so far has been "I don't like it so clearly all Porsche loyalists will never consider purchasing one."

No my argument is premium buyers that want a "badge" don't give a damn about a toyota.

I don't understand how fake vents, no manual, and supra looks result in "boy racer" actually.

ever been to a car show, auto civic big vents and wings that do nothing. aka boy racer.

So yeah, this thread...155 posts in a week's time.

Make a burner account to defend the honor of a almost two decade old car and make insane comparisons even when you are speaking to people who know their stuff.

lol

ever been to a car show, auto civic big vents and wings that do nothing. aka boy racer.

I sure don't see that in the A90, but sure, lets go with the boy racer.

Would it not be a good idea just to go back to circlejerking about how the A90 sucks on Supra forums or whatever? Because by this point, how hard you are trying to bash a car that isn't even in showrooms in full yet, all because it doesn't fit your notions of a car near two decades old, or really the concept that was shown years ago by this point, is honestly kind of hilariously pathetic.

Why not wait until some sales numbers come to the car before bashing it?

How will sales change fact its a bastardized bmw slower then the comp and complete failure to live up the its heritage. Being in show rooms wont change its one ugly as hell disproportionate mess of a car.

Well it wont change your opinion. What it does do though is drives a pretty good point forward that that seems to not matter to anyone that is actually purchasing the car. Looks like they did good.

These days there are some pretty high end cars that have non-functional detailing, including fake vents, exhaust tips, and scoops. Also that come without a stick.

People made that argument against the GT-R before it came out too. They were just as wrong then. 👍

*looks mock-disapprovingly over at Ms, AMGs, RSs, and even some supercars*

Why are you using the top of the line mkv price and doubling it, use the the bottom 4 banger price and then double it. Be honest if your trying to make a point.
Bottom price Supra is $49,990. US isn’t getting the 4-banger, so do the math there.

Most of my working life in sales buddy, I literately live off justifying high end expensive products to people.
And my life revolves around higher end/luxury cars and their clients. Remind me in a year; I’ll get you first look at the LC-F. 👍
But keep thinking a Porsche buyer is cross shopping a weird ugly looking Toyota with the cayman. Especially in Europe where the cayman costs less
Not really concerned with Europe given I’m in the US market. I’ve already said in this thread it’s the Corvette market the Supra could affect IF the performance on the track is comparable.
Um sir you see all these beautifully made fake vents on the Toyota, much sportier and more sexy then the clean lines on a Porsche.
They’re not actually fake. Research helps but here’s the explanation anyway:

“If you look at the vehicle today, there’s holes all over the body,’ Tada said. ‘They’re just capped on the production car. Those are for the racing model. When the customer goes and converts it to a racing car, or adds those necessary components, those caps come off very easily. So, it’s already pre-made, ready to accommodate.’

Feedback from the race car influenced the eventual design of the street-legal model, including those myriad vents and scoops.

How is this different from your original posts speaking on behalf of Supra owners?

Holy crap on a cracker! The number of posts from nine days ago (a date that bears some significance that I'll not specify) until that post of mine is exactly double the figure that I cited in that post. 155 posts in two days!

Gotta get those arguments in just in case reality doesn't substantiate them.

It's funny...I really couldn't give the furry crack of a rat's backside about a new Supra or any before it--and I can't help but roll my eyes at the prospect of any manufacturer reviving any nameplate after a twenty year hiatus--but I find myself anxiously awaiting its release just to see how posts in this thread aged.

GTR had the performance to shut every one up, this doesn't. Let not pretend gtr even dented 911 sales.

fake vents are a joke no matter the car they are on.

Its not the bottom market supra even if the US market isn't getting the lesser one.

Remind me in a year, hopefully you sold enough of them so i can sale you a nice Omega. Unless the lcf can match the performance of the bog boys form germany, ill pass.

Great pr, so is the customer supposed to fabricate the pathway or will toyota lol.

Seems they've over booked the Special Edition in the UK: https://www.supramkv.com/threads/no...-a90-supra-special-edition-orders-in-uk.1547/

Oh and post #11 is someone cross shopping the Supra/Cayman/M2 Competition:

''I got the email today too.... absolutely gutted, I've been humming and harring over Caymen, M2 Competition and the Supra, I was 100% set on the A90 Edition when I got the order confirmation. Really not sure what to do now.''

Fancy that, it does happen!!!

Great looking car people will buy instead of the Supra.

Yes so similar to the mid engine Porsche.
Yes, the two seat, ~3400 pound two seat sports car with ~330 hp is pretty similar to the other ~3400 pound two seat sports car with ~330 hp. Certainly moreso than the ~3700 pound 4 seat boat that has a visual design going on a decade old even after two emergency nose jobs in two years. It's similar to how the Corvette you keep bringing up as a comparison to the Supra is also a lot closer to the Cayman in market.

Let's take this a bit further to try and help you out a bit: No one else has mass produced a rear engined car except for econoboxes since 1995. Does the 911 have no competitors on the market?

except everyone that can only muster 50k and performance is the criteria.
So they aren't going to buy the M2 Competition that you just said was a Supra competitor in the other thread, then.

if they cant afford the left one, buy the right one and shame the mkv Zupra.

this boat will smoke the zupra in every performance category lol.

If they were in the market for the left one, they absolutely were never considering the right one. That you think that Chevrolet has a ton more brand cachet than Toyota is perhaps the most hilarious part of the whole thing.

And? If that was the only standard people were worried about, people would have already been buying them. BMW would never have sold another M4 so long as the ZL1 existed if winning performance tests was the main concern.

That obviously hasn't been happening.

Glad you agree brand maters, good luck toyota competing with Porsche.

You may be right and since the brand matters they might as well buy a m30/40i and drive a real bmw.

Your argument started with the “durr Camaro/Mustang” logic. I compared US pricing across all 3 models.
Remind me in a year, hopefully you sold enough of them so i can sale you a nice Omega. Unless the lcf can match the performance of the bog boys form germany, ill pass.
I’ll remember that while I’m wearing either my Monaco or Daytona. Maybe while I reminisce about my Z06? While deciding if I want to take a LC500 off site to shoot?

E-peen measure games don’t work on me. I don’t care. Nobody here does.

You bragged about buying a used Supra a decade out of production and being happy it would appreciate. You don’t strike me as a LC-F buyer anyway with that kind of claim to boast.

Great deflection like every other post you make.
