Sorry guys. But something has come up and I'm going to be out of action for a while. But I hope that you guys will help in keeping this thread going in my absence.

I have shared a track.

Thanks guys I'll be back as soon as I can.

Sorrry for randomly disappearing halfway through the night, my internet decided that it didn't like me for a couple of hours. 👎

Hope all is well man. I'll do my best to keep things going, but I'll have trouble getting online for a couple of weeks because of the move. Might not even have internet straight away, not sure how I would cope in that scenario, doesn't bare thinking about.

No worries Joe.
Will try to get on tonight for an hour or so, probably around 9.30-10pm because I'm still working, so if you guys get on before me, feel free to open a room on behalf of TCR.

👍

A small list of cars one may see in the GT4 European cup if you have not yet looked at this, here is a link to the official GT4 website and here in Statistics.

Please don’t ask to have the same points system as this, as it means more work, I believe the spread sheet that Andy did for me works very well as it stands. 👍

Maybe while Jonathan is away and Alexi is busy with work and house moving, no internet oh no  what am I to do I hear Alexi cry. Someone can make up a track/cars combo for a dry run and test a few things out. on hold

I really don’t want to get involved with car and track picking, as the admin side of things is very time consuming, with the other two events GTP_IDOR and GTP_Classics I have enough on my plate. The only thing that is lacking is participants support; they say variety is the spice of life.

Phillip.

If anyone is interested in trying out GT4 cars as a possible combo, let me know as I have the SRO's specifications after performance balancing for all the cars which appear in GT5. Unfortunately I'm not normally around at the start of the week for testing so only tend to run the combos at the weekend. I'm happy to go with whatever people choose though, it's all about the good clean close racing at the end of the day :)

This could be very useful, maybe we can put them in the thread somehow?
Anyway, I'm not 100% sure when all this is going to kick off, but the first race for the GT4 championship is likely to be around 9th July.
With me and Jon not having much time, I thought it would be best to keep the RUF for another week. We're working on a new track which should be sorted by this evening. Details to follow ASAP.

Ok Alexi, I'm happy to give the RUF another go ;) . I'll post the specs below in case people want to start getting cars prepared in the meantime.

Camaro 1450kg 440BHP
Evora 1190kg 355BHP
Corvette C6 1400kg 390BHP
BMW M3 1430kg 420BHP
370z 1350kg 400BHP
Maserati GT 1400kg 400BHP
Mustang 1380kg 420BHP
Nissan 350z 1300kg 385BHP
BMW Z4 1200kg 375BHP

Aero upgrades are not allowed as per GT4 regulations. I would suggest suspension and transmission/drivetrain upgrades are allowed and cars should run on race hard tyres. They are all between 500 and 520pp 👍

Some cars have rear aero on them like the bmw m3 and the evora 214

Indeed, I was just quoting the regulations as stated, of course their is the usual 'at the discretion of the SRO clause'. I have just put those up as a guideline for people who want to start thinking about possible cars, I am going to have a play with them, adding aero and tweaking figures a little to make them the same pp (easier to enforce) but without one car having an obvious advantage.

I am hoping that when I've got a few tweaks, some of the gents in here might have a look and see what they think, a TCR balance of performance test if you like 👍

(I'm pretty sure that's not an aero upgrade hanging off the back of that M3  )

I would LVE a GT4 championship. Of course I'd be driving the 370z :D

Is anyone around for some testing tonight??

Looks like it was a quiet weekend.
I'm still recovering from a very hectic few days, but will try to get on in the evenings this week.

Agreed, I've been busy all weekend too. Come back to find the last post was friday last week other than yours Alex today.

Do we have any ideas on the GT4 championship yet?

I think that as an added dimension we should all contribute 1 track each to use in the series.

I think we are all waiting for this Neenor.

I'm rubbish at track making.

Phillip.

Ok well I will open a room tonight if any of you would like to join (I hope you do). Neenor if you come online tonight we can talk gt4 idea etc if you like and I will make a track. Im thinking an F1 style must use two tyres combo, hards and softs.

Ps: bring your your potential gt4 ride with you.

Hi guys, interesting you should mention the GT4 thing. I have spent the past week and a bit tweaking the figures I posted earlier and balancing the performance and PP to make it regulatable (if that's even a word!!). This is what I came up with:

After testing at a variety of tracks, all were very close timewise (obviously different cars perform differently based on track type but they're all close and none has an obvious advantage). I'm not sure I'll be on tonight to test as I have a football match but I should definitely be on tomorrow. If you'd like to test them out for me, I'd love to know what you think.

Great, I'm going to test the Maserati, the 370z and the BMW M3 tonight using the settings you suggested above. No idea if anyone else is around to test so if not I'll just put on a track I know inside out to test them.

Chris

Nurburgring GP/F

Maserati PP515 RH 2'10.454 5 Laps (got this down to 2'08.5xx with some suspension and transmission changes)
370z PP522 RH 2'10.139 5 Laps (with some playing with the the transmission and suspension I got 2'07'854)
M3 PP522 RH 2'07.854 5 Laps

All default settings with all mods and tunes (hence the differing PP value) and using your figures above for the bhp and the weight.

My 370z was broken in and the others were not.

The Maserati and the Beemer chewed tyres in 5 laps, the 370z seemed quite balanced.

I think the M3 needs 415bhp instead of 420 but the others seemed ok.

I think you have done a damn good job of testing and balancing the cars mate. I just think a couple of them need some tweeks.

Chris

Would like a little more clarity on the exact cars you're using, as I'm not sure for a couple of them. (e.g there are two C6 Corvettes- the Z06 and the ZR1. I'll assume its the Z06 for now. There's a few Camaros too, though here I'll assume it's probably the Camaro SS '10.)

Thanks mate  , I tested them at London, Monza and Suzuka (twisty, long straights and in between!!) and they were overall very close with my (shoddy) driving! I think personal driving style comes into it too, I found the M3 a bit slower on my tests but its a car I have never got on with too well, the vette on the other hand...

Sorry Joe, it just came off my spreadsheet so I hadn't put in full names. The cars are all currently homologated to GT4 regulations in real life so all are modern cars. They are all available in the premium dealer, the Z06 and SS'10 is quite right. The 2 Nissans have their Japanese names too, Z33 and Z34 if I remember correctly. Also the Z4 is the M version.

Glad you enjoyed testing them, I hope to be around a fair bit tomorrow to join in myself and see how we get on

Great work there Andy. Thanks 👍
Shame that the 370Z is 1 less PP, maybe we should drop that one to make it simple? It's annoying that it's such a great car, but at least there's the 350 still.

I've had a flippin nightmare of a week with my moving date falling through. It should be next Thursday now, so I'm hoping to get on tonight for a few. Will probably run the Z4.

I'll have a few old tracks to use for now - Classic tracks like Ovi Park Circuit and Rose Circuit.

Hello. Sorry I haven't been around as i've been busy with my schooling and all. Am I allowed to join your lounge now?

Finally I'm able to get online.

Would be good to catch up with some of you guys, feel a bit out of touch with my own event :dunce:

My lounge is open, but will probably make an open room later.

👍
