Thinking of getting a bike then John/ And I don't think you need to max the car but if you do I reckon racing rubber is in order or min sport softs to handle the power/ low weight.
Ok Mikey give us something fun, what do you think for the coming week. I mean with the RGT.

Yip working on the bike thing, I had so much fun yesterday good to be on a bike again.

I was also churning out some awesome tracks today or I was just in a mood to drive but I think I have some really great driving tracks. But I would love to have a big race tonight on Gary's track still ..

I'll be making and testing out tracks today to be run with some of the recommended cars, and also to work with the RUF RGT if we're continuing to use that. 👍

Also, Alexi will have a nice amount of credits to collect from his b-spec drivers when he's back on. Me and GTP_PASM have raced his drivers a few times over the past couple of days (I checked his logs), and his drivers currently hold the following amounts: 70,990cr, 91,570cr, 95,210cr, 86,330cr, 112,770cr, and 83,890cr, which comes to just over 540K. :)

EDIT: I think I've already come up with a top-notch track, which is fast and flowing for the most part, and was tested with the RUF. The RUF will need better tyres than sports hard to run it nicely though. (If we end up using a recommended car instead of the RUF, I'll either have to modify the track or try to find a recommended car+tyre combo that works similarly to the RUF)

EDIT: Sports soft seem to work well, anything better would give too much grip, in my opinion. Just need to see how sports medium is around here, and possibly tweak some minor details of the track.

EDIT: Sports soft seem to be the best tyre, as anything less requires braking/lifting off for parts of the track that I'd like to be flat out (provided you find the right line, otherwise you'll hit the outside wall right before the fast flat out section of the lap), and I've applied my track tweaks. (Exit onto the flat out middle section is now smoother, and theres a little bit more camber in the first sector to try and help cancel out some of the negative camber in one turn.)

EDIT: Online testing complete, the car feels better online than offline (not performance-wise, just the overall feel of the car), it can make some of the corners easier, but feels much more... floaty... under braking from high speeds, and looser through the turns. You'll need to be careful of not hitting that barrier I mentioned before, when your tyres are worn.

Hi Joe I'm going to turn on in a few minutes come join me if you can. Bring the RUF with sports soft.

I'll join you for a bit, as soon as this remote race finishes. >___> Should be about 8 minutes or so before it ends. I have that track set to online, if you want to try it out before I join.

Hi gents.

Howz the track testing going? I have shared a track for the RUF on sports soft with the same settings as I used on Gary's beautiful track. The track I've shared is a nice flowing circuit with a very short straight so it will be difficult for over taking before the start/finish line and all the over taking would most likely happen before the first coner.

Thanks to Dan, Wes, Joe, and Gary for joining me with a testing session as Joe had a good high speed track and.... Gary I think your track is a bit technical but once you find the lines it is a good drive.

Mr A I hope you're feeling better.

So yes.... so far Joe's Plunge track or my Druck Circuit is up on the list. If you have a track that you would like to be tested please let Alexi or myself have a crack at it.

Thanks guys

Money issues? (HINT)

Light weight cup in seasonal events. Dust of the cappacino on the Efiel circuit

3 laps... 300K. My fastest lap is a 0.55.8, oh yes 3 minutes, 300K

We're in John's private lounge, races will begin every 7 minutes with the autostart, and the first race will be in about 15 minutes time.

For the championship idea, one thing we could do is have the normal championship, and also a support race for each. The support race would be a championship too, except that the support races offer half the amount of points that the championship races do. So you could end up being the champ of the support series (count support points only), the champ of the main series (count main series points only), or combined champ of both (add support and main series points together), or you could even be all 3 at once.

Ok I'm back in action.
I'll be on tonight, probably not during the Apprentice because my wife wants to watch it. Plus I like to let off steam by shouting at the poor morons.

See you guys later.

Seems quiet this week don't you think?
I'm not worried as the gentlemen know where to come to for good clean racing. I race all GT tracks when doing Aspec so when I want a change TRC is where I'll be. And if you guys want to open a room running the combo I don't mind as long as you run the combo of the week. Up to you.

It's still early days and I'm really hoping Phil will help us with this as he has all the expertise. And if anybody esle would like to contribute you are more then welcome.

Cool Mr A time for you to do some racing and destress.... unfortunately I want be able to join but tomorrow I'll be there like a bear.

👍

Hi guys, sorry I've been missing lately but I got frustrated after the update. When you're as slow as me, you need all the help you can get and to spend time setting my RUF up to drive just how I wanted only to come back post update and find it driving like a 3 wheeled shopping trolley was immensely frustrating. In the meantime I've been making use of the triple money seasonals and grinding like a nymphomaniac rabbit on heat. Will be back for the next combo for sure though as I've missed the great competition this series provides

I'm always game to join in Jonathan / Alexi as you know, keeps my brain active as the rest of the body is packing up.

I've sent you a PM Jonathan as I would like to know more of what the event is going to be, what the goals are is it once a week race event, what are the best times to run it for all involved.

Phillip.

We discussed a couple of things in John's lounge a night or two ago. We thought that thursday nights would probably be the best day for the championship race(s), and we would probably run everything else as normal/as it currently is. Actually, when I say "we", only me and John were in the room at the time that it was discussed (I believe cpt-disaster was away at the time), so we do need to discuss this more.

Its exam season for me down here... Study is my scene at the moment
Exams are definitely more important go for it Sam study hard..

Sorry but I'm going to make an executive decision we will still run the RUF, same setup just with sports softs on Drucks Circuit which you can download from my tracks. It's a track that is difficult to overtake so qualy is important. I will try be online from 18:00 GMT until as late as I can, with 12-15 lap races on a auto cycle of 8mins.

Thanks Phillip I have replied briefly. If we all pitch in it should be good fun.

If we all add a little to make it work and not so much for one person to do, it should work out nicely. Work in progress, First I think we need to find a car or cars that can be personalised and be fair. Watch this space.

Had the same problem chief, quick fix is to flip the setup you have. So now the rear is the front and the front is the rear.

In short you use to have to setup a car with the front settings on the rear side of the setup screen but they fixed it it seems.

Flip reverse it to fix 👍

Thanks, I had an inkling they may have been messing around with something. I'll give it a try and may join this weekend if its any better.

Hi guys.

This can be edited to suit.

Alexi and Jonathan would like to run this event in practice mode with a rolling start, but not knowing just how that would work at this moment in time, I’ve gone for a format that will take into account a rolling start but in race mode.

Rolling Start.

Once the track / car combo is set by Jon/Alexi you’ll be able to practice as much as you like before the feature race.

There will be three races of XX amount of laps with 10 minutes between each race for chat / loo / smoke or drink

On race day you will be required to qualify 15 minutes before race start for position on the grid.

Race One.

The first lap will be done behind the pace car (race marshal) who will peel off into the pit at the end of the first lap, then watch the race from the viewing lounge.

You may over take once you have crossed the S/F line

Once the race is finished all racers must make a note of their total race time, plus save the replay for fastest lap times. These can then be posted into TCR thread, along with any picture or video that you wish.

Race Two

As race one, but your order on the grid is where you finished in race one, if you finished in fifth place you start in fifth place for race two. Again this is rolling start behind pace car that will pit at the end of first lap. Don’t forget to make a note of your total race time and save replay.

Race Three

I’ve not forgotten the slower driver like me, race order for this race is the reverse of race two, if you finished in 1st place then you start last, if you finished last in race two you start in pole behind pace car, sort your position out as you follow the pace car on the first lap of race three, keep your eye on the list of names so you end up in the right place before the pace car pulls off into the pit. Make a note of your total race time and save replay. (I said there would be a bit of work for you to do)

Rules

Ok rules not many, we all like clean racing that’s why we come here, accidents happen bit of door to door and rubbing we all know this is good fun. But if you make another driver go off track you must wait for him/her to rejoin in the place they were, don’t stop on track just drive slowly till they are back in position.

Do not drive the wrong way round the track; you will be kicked straight away.

Do not run into the car in front when braking, it’s your responsibility to avoid this not the guy in front, watch the draft affect, this may have penalties.

Remember the race marshal is watching you.

Phillip.

Cough, cough, cough

I'm sure I will Andy thanks for your help in advance. 👍

Just waiting on Jonathan and Alexi with any final thoughts, as I'm not taking a front row seat, more a back seat driver on this one

Phillip.

My penny worth is...

For this to be fair and because not everyone can always be on we should keep the number of laps constant each week - say 10 laps. Everyone should record their fastest overall race time for the complete race and this is what should count toward any points system or championship.

Bonus points could be awarded for fastest race lap and fastest quali lap.
