Not sure how I can help solve the problem maybe just persist with signing in or turn it off and then try again...

Okay that might be an issue. Try your best, we only still have 2 in the room to race so far. So we may have to postpone this round for a week and run a double header...

So the race is postponed? Oh I'm only on GTP because I'm "borrowing" someone's Wi-Fi. If the race is postponed, that should allow me to race next week as I should be back.

Well after i posted this, PSN got going again, the 4 drivers who were going to be there anyway all ended up in the room (nearly had a 5th car as well!) and we all decided to push on and get the round done so we didnt have a long night again next week.

well done to ITZ, killer round for the opel!

just watched the replays, goodness that opel has some drive!, i felt like jack miller, only able to get close on the breaks but as soon as we exited the corner Itz was un catchable!.
can def see soks struggling on exit also, just cant get any power down without the thing getting squirly! Bencrow in race 3 most of all was brilliant!, super fast and managed to hold up soks a bit so i could make a little gap! great driving mate!, Soks i think your round is coming!, def got a feeling you are gonna take a grand slam one of these rounds!

Yeah just got the car hooked up well this week, and dropped my lap times with some more practice.

That 3rd race was a bit of a worry, i made a few little mistakes and thought i was about to let you into my draft but i managed to get a few clean laps in and rebuild a gap. Hoepfully I can keep up the momentum in next weeks events.

Just a warning to everyone, make sure you do some practice at dusk and nighttime as we will be throwing these races into the mix from next week, now that circuit times are now available on some of the tracks we visit.

Thanks to the 3 others who turned up after the PSN issues. I was only expecting us 4 as everyone else had informed me of being unavailable, so it was good to get this round out the way.

I will be posting results, official points and race reports after Monday afternoon at the earliest. Now time to go racing in the real world and get my race gear dirty again!!!

That's why I'm overcoming my hoodoo event so far, didn't wash my greasy suit. It was white, now it's black ;)

Oh and @fullgas62, keep up the good work at the NSW States, checked on the CMS and you're going reasonably well!!

Must be something about not washing race suits and doing well!

I Started 2nd in my feature last night and took the lead from the start. Came up to the lapped cars and one of the lapped cars was on the high line so I went low to pass him and he shut the door on me. Dropped back to 2nd again and 2 laps later drove around the outside and took the lead back. Then I had to deal with 3 attempts at a green white chequered before I took the win! Now we've got to try and do it all again tonight and claim the bonus for winning both nights of the double header!

anyone up for a prac session this eve? will be online sometime after 8(est) or so. Well done ITZ mate, sounds like you drove like a true champ! get in Gas mate!, best of luck all racers!

Well I've overcome it, not that my final result shows it though. In the final (deadman final), I started 7th got a truly fantastic start went straight up the middle of the pack, got up to 4th, held that for a lap, dropped to 5th, held that up until my brakes locked up going into the first switchback dropped to 9th as a result of it then, in a last gasp move in the second to last corner of the final lap, passed 8th and held that to the finish line a few metres later. Overall a good weekend, highlight of the race meet was keeping up with the top 4/5 in Central Queensland even though my budget for a year is what they spend in a race meet. I'm pleased, now on to my second race meet in a row back here at home then off to Race of Stars then back here at home for my 4th race meeting in succession then to cap off 4 weeks in a row of karting, for the 5th week, I go to Townsville for the Rob Harrison Memorial. Busy, busy me!

Have fun with the practice @Mtla1984, personally I'm worn out from the 2 nights of racing, cleaning race cars, being at the main street of my town with the car on display, and then to finish it off, I had a photo shoot a couple hours ago.

not a prob at all, i did a bit of tuning then ended up drifting (which im still at), doing my first ever tandems! (since i started drifting i can save mistakes and spins in races SOOOO much better!)

well done on all the success at the races mate!, sounds like you had a really great time! whats the photo shoot for if you don't mind me asking?

Oh I forgot to add that there was 15-16 in my class, not the most I've raced against but still a big field. Then when I race at home it's a lowly 3-4 in my class then at Race of Stars my biggest field of 33 (over last year's RoS Junior Pro field of 32) then at home 3-4, again, then at Townsville, 7-16 racers. Up & Down fields for me. I'm loving the TaG entry list for RoS, 45+!! On one track!!!

How many do you usually end up getting at a race, Itz?

Ok sounds like a good night MTLA!

Yeah 2 wins from 2 nights and the $500 bonus for winning both nights of the double header. The photo shoot was for some promotional pictures of me and the car (and some good looking girls in bikinis) ;) Some shots will probably end up on posters :)

Not a bad weekend NW! We usually get anywhere from 15-20 at a club meeting. I finished 3rd in the Australian Title earlier this year in a 50 car field and the year before and $5 part cost me from transferring directly into the A-Main in a 96 car field. Saturday Night we had 17 cars which is really good considering it was the opening race of the season. Sunday Night we had 7 cars which was an extra couple hours down the road, so it people were more reluctant to travel.

Good to hear you're mixing it up with the higher ranks with a 3rd at the Australian titles! I was a bit bummed when my best chance for an Australian Title at home was cancelled a few weeks ago... Don't think that good of a chance will ever happen again but at least I can say that I won a State Title at the crisp age of 9! I think it was me and a kid called Reece Sidebottom who were the final State Champions for the Midgets (now Cadets) class as they are now ineligible for any State/National title.

Seems like you guys get some good fields! Alot better than the diminishing fields we get here at home. I guess that's why I enjoy racing on the coast so much! Actually I lie, that's only part of the reason why I enjoy it. The main reasons are; 1. It's not 40 flipping degrees! 2. There's actually water and green grass 3. There is actually stuff to do

Oh the benefits of living in the absolute middle of nowhere!!

Hi guys, telstra's frigging around at the moment - but should be cool for thursday. Thanks NW - My driver in CSH got his first podium in the States with a third . . . Scottie Simpson won (no suprise there! he's a legend) - my motor builder Mick Hazelton got a number of fastest laps in a couple of the heats but was involved in acco's every heat - so not the result we were hoping for there . . . ah well . . . got pretty much the rest of this month off then November we've got the "yamaha" on at Coffs, then South Pacific Titles at Orange, then Double Header Gunnedah/Tamworth - three weeks in a row. Clean and strip and put it away for the year after that . . . Well done on your results up there mate good job!!!

Sounds like I'm not the only one who's gonna be busy over the next few weeks! We'll probably be stripping my kart down immediately after Saturday's race in preparation for next weeks Race of Stars. Just gonna cruise through that event and not let the nerves get to me like I did last year. Hopefully we can get through the races without a repeat of last year's Race 2 drama. 3 red flags in one race, and it wasn't even the final! Good to hear your driver went well. It's awys a good feeling to see a close friend succeed for the first time. I think this year may be may longest (and probably the last) year of karting I do with my season ending at my favourite track in Proserpine in the last week of November.

Drivers Briefing Round 6

Nurburgring GP Track Map.jpg

Circuit: Nurburgring GP / F
Laps: 3x 6 Lap Races
Circuit Time: Race 1 - 1800, Race 2 - 2000, Race 3 - 2200
Circuit Weather: 0%

Again we ran a perfect round with no incidents to be concerned about so I will keep it brief again.

Track Limits

The 2 areas of concern are the exits of turns 2 and 4. As long as you dont gain an advantage or pass a car as a result of running wide, it'll be fine. Of course the Chicane at 14/15 will also be monitored with penalties handed out for corner cutting.

The next problem I have is there is the possibility of me having to do another race car photo shoot on Thursday Night. This time I'll have models in bikinis joining and their only available day is Thursday Night. I'm hoping it will not go any further past 8-9pm so everyone may need to be patient if the photo shoot goes ahead and we will push through the night again. The guy organising the models was aware that I do this on Thursday Night and only remembered after the

Race Report - Round 5 Indianapolis GP

Race 1

Indianapolis Road Course.jpg

With only a small field of 4 cars in attendance, 12 Time and defending series champion ItzRacing earned pole position for the first time this season aboard the Opel with and impressive lap time of 1:30.596. MTLA1984 joined ItzRacing on the front row, with nosoks and bencrow_ 3rd and 4th.

Indianapolis Road Course_1.jpg

Once the 5 lights went out ItzRacing immediately positioned his car on the right hand side of the track and protected the line from the typically fast starting MTLA1984!

Indianapolis Road Course_2.jpg

All 4 drivers race into turn 1 with ItzRacing and MTLA1984 side by side in the braking zone. ItzRacing would come out ahead in that battle, while behind them, bencrow_ continued his run of aggresive but clean starts, moving ahead of nosoks into 3rd place.

Indianapolis Road Course_3.jpg

Exiting turn 7 MTLA1984 ran wide onto the painted surface pushing hard to keep up with ItzRacing. Fortunately for MTLA1984, he was able to hold his position in 2nd place.

Indianapolis Road Course_4.jpg

Coming to the end of lap 1, nosoks managed to make his way back into 3rd place, passing bencrow_ on the main straight.

Indianapolis Road Course_5.jpg
Indianapolis Road Course_6.jpg
Indianapolis Road Course_7.jpg

Bencrow_ was able to reclaim 3rd spot though, but not at the expense of nosoks who also gained a position and moved to 2nd place as MTLA1984 misjudged his braking marker, brushing the barrier at turn 1 and having to take and excursion through the grass to rejoin at the back of the bus.

Indianapolis Road Course_8.jpg
Indianapolis Road Course_9.jpg

ItzRacing continued to build his lead at the front of the field, as MTLA1984 was working on a rescue mission to salvage some valuable championship points. A mistake from bencrow_ saw him run wide at turn 11, handing 3rd place to MTLA1984.

MTLA1984 now had his sights set on nosoks for 2nd position. Within a few laps he was on the back of the BMW, making the pass down the main straight and into turn 1, taking 2nd place!

Indianapolis Road Course_20.jpg
Indianapolis Road Course_21.jpg

Back at the front of the pack, ItzRacing was rounding the final bend to take a comfortable victory as he passed underneath the world famous Indianapolis flagstand to greet the chequered flag. MTLA1984 was 2nd after his earlier mishap, with nosoks completing the podium in 3rd place and bencrow_ in 4th position.

Race 2

Indianapolis Road Course.jpg

It was a case of dejavu for the 2nd race with ItzRacing on pole in the Opel, MTLA1984 in 2nd, nosoks 3rd and bencrow_ in 4th position.

Indianapolis Road Course_1.jpg

Indianapolis Road Course_2.jpg

With some quick gear ratio changes between race 1 and 2, ItzRacing's Opel launched off the line like a rocket, and held the lead into turn 1 with MTLA1984 in 2nd, bencrow_ 3rd and nosoks in 4th. bencrow_ moved into 2nd as MTLA1984 got out of shape exiting turn 1, dropping to 3rd place.

Indianapolis Road Course_3.jpg
Indianapolis Road Course_4.jpg

bencrow_'s time in 2nd place didnt last long as he was passed by MTLA1984 going through turn 5 and then lost control entering turn 7 with nosoks narrowly avoiding a collision to move up to 3rd place at bencrow_'s expense.

Indianapolis Road Course_5.jpg

At the end of lap 1, ItzRacing already starting building another healthy lead on his rivals, with MTLA1984 in 2nd place and nosoks rounding out the top 3.

Indianapolis Road Course_6.jpg

ItzRacing was then flexing the muscles on the Opel machine, setting an incredible time of 1:30.193 on the 4th lap.

Indianapolis Road Course_7.jpg

Now on the last lap, the race was a bit of a procession as ItzRacing built a lead and no other battles took place behind him.

Indianapolis Road Course_8.jpg
Indianapolis Road Course_9.jpg
Indianapolis Road Course_10.jpg
Indianapolis Road Course_11.jpg

ItzRacing crossed the famous yard of bricks for another race win, with MTLA1984 2nd, nosoks in 3rd place and bencrow_ in 4th place ensuring all 4 drivers finished in the same positions as the previous race.
