Thanks a lot for the new translations. Apart from some spelling errors they're great!!

They seem to remove a lot of speculation, but at the same time add some aswell. It's good to see GT Mode has become an actual Resort with all those extra features.

And how about the range of wheels on offer varying every day, how cool is that!

has no one else considered the implications of a 8 car multiplayer field?

Does this mean that single player races have 8 cars instead of 6?

Sorry for the late reply here:

This is in reference to the translation of the "GT Mode" screen. Maybe I'm a bit paranoid, but has anyone noticed that something is missing? Where do you modify and upgrade your car? It only talks about wheels and spoilers in the GT Auto section. You would think they would also mention modifying your car there if it was available.

I know we all assume that it will be in the game, but has anyone seen any mention of it in any official Sony or PD press release?

Im not trying to start any rumors here it's just that I noticed a lack of info on this fun part of the GT series.

Hopefully it's not just for LAN races. But wouldn't they make a bigger deal about it if it was 8?

I recently read somewhere in this or another thread about the japanese demo that this "GT mode"-screen is not an ingame screen. So don't worry that there won't be a possibility to tune your cars, that won't happen.

Cheers,

When it gets translated ;).

Oh and if you or anyone else are using these English pages else where, credit to the translater and myself would be greatly appreciated.
Will do. Thanks again for your hard work.

I think you tune your car at the dealer, just like in GT2. Or you could go to Tuner Village for Tuner specific parts.

That screen did show everything else, so why wouldn't it show a tuning section if there was a standalone tuning section?

Time Trial
The difference between this and Single Race is the fact that there are no CPU cars. No set number of laps to do, this mode can be used to learn new courses or try to set a new record. Ghost replay cars are also available. Use the provided features to acheive a best lap.

Caption(L): There are no annoying cars, so this mode is perfect for learning courses.
What, are there no real time trials now? I was looking forward to a potential Nürburgring TT, in a sadistic kind of way... :grumpy:

Mission race perhaps? The final test in the S-Licence?
Heres hoping!

I'm still hoping, despite the addition of the Nurb, that Complex String makes it back. It was an excellent general-test facility.

Wasn't there a new Sim Mode map? I remember it being posted simply because the Australian flag was actually there, and there were Spanish and Dutch areas added in. I'm probably getting it mixed up with another, non-guide news bit, though...

Don't you think that they would try to hide some of the surprises in the game before it's released???

If they do add 2 more cars, I sure hope the AI has been completely overhauled. Otherwise it will just be 2 more cars to slam into you.

The more cars the merrier.. I mean, the real 24-hour Nürburgring race has around TWO HUNDRED vehicles on the track. It'd be great to see GT5 actually have real racing grids, especially on the longer tracks and longer races.

Complex String was good, but I won't miss it that much with the Ring there (except maybe those undulations...). Plus, you can compare to real world times with the Ring!

Has anyone noticed that in the "GT Resorts" information page, there is no Tuning the performance of your car anywere?!!!!! It sais Tuner shop "were you buy tuned cars already made"........I find this very strange, I hope that GT4 didnt lose it's tuning aspect, I would quite simply NOT BUY THE GAME!

They've already mentioned that there are different tire compounds, na, turbo, and supercharger mods, and nos. So tuning still has to be around in some shape.

Who knows, maybe they went back to having to go back to the manufacturer's main page to access tuning, like in GT1/2 (I sure hope not, though).

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

I think that they will change the way we access the tune setting page. I would suggest doing it like in GT3 but add another way. How about being able to access it from the garage right away? :odd:

Yeah. I hate having to go to a race event in GT2 just to change car settings. 👎

Please tell me you did not hear about "nos" from a reliable source.

This reliable enough for ya? As long as it's only used in drag racing, which I'm sure it will be, I have no problem with it.

Looks like a poor attempt at a photoshop to me. Seriously, the least the "artist" can do is try to match the font weight with everything else.

That's because that screen is a translation from the following screen. This is old news too, from E3 I think.

You know, I just noticed something from that picture 8400RPM had on Post #141. I noticed a little arrow. So it looks like there may be many more tuning options for your car. But if this is already discussed, I'm sorry for digging up old stuff.

I think that's all I wanted to talk about, since I have nothing else to discuss right now.

I like the idea of having most of the tuning options right there on one screen.. quite handy that. The new "drop-down menu" style of part selection has been a great help in streamlining the menus, I think.

Any idea what "Set A", "Set B", etc means? Since it seems ALL of the removable/adjustable components are on one page (everything except the transmission, it seems), it almost looks like they might be "presets" of a sort. Rather than changing a dozen settings every time you race on a different track, you simply select "Set B", which might be your Nürburgring setup, or "Set A", which is your High Speed Ring setup.

Where are the transmission settings, anyway? Unless I'm wrong about the presets, then there would be four pages of settings.. hehe.

ya i think set a and set b stuff means u can have different set of profile of parts u want to use.

transmission setting should be ratios

Thanks for posting those pics! Now I feel much better about the tuning aspect of GT4.

BTW - it looks to me like there is another page of modifications available. Look to the right of the turbo tab and you can see an arrow that looks like it leads to another page. That's probably where the transmission changes are. Also, suspension tuning (camber, toe, etc) should be there as well.
