TT #48 Skylines 480PP Deep Forest: 700PP Race Cars Cape Ring

Very amusing Wiki article there numbnuts, lol. Second good laugh I've had from these forums today. I think you know what the other one was. I wanna go fast....somebody help me. lol.

I want more coinage lol :)

Easiest TT ever, used the premium R32 with a few bolt ons and no oil change, and nailed a high 1.29.something on the first lap.

@giantyak
Your dampers are too soft and your roll bars are too, try the default settings for them and up the front roll bar one click and I think I have my dampers at 8 for ext and 4/8 compression and camber a added just a bit 1.4 and 1.2 and front toe at .13 rear I left alone, IMO it felt straight and was easy to control some may not agree with my settings but it make sense to me.

Its not too soft, note the ride height. This setup is designed to take the bumps and swales smoothly with strong contact to the ground as often as possible. My front camber range is 2.9 - 3.2 havent decided yet.

Anybody got a tune for the 905 for the 'Rape ring'?

I can't seem to drive the b*st*rd on a pad,spinning out everywhere.

****ing 700pp on the Rape ring, are u mad PD? :)

I'm going to do some work on a 905 for Cape Ring right now, I want to see if I can get into the top 100.

Use ballast, add it to the front, it should help with the oversteer.

EDIT: Screw that course, I hate it... Couldn't get any of the performance onto the road.

I give up on Cape ring as well... Got the gold after many 'red' times and decided it's ridiculous.... That jump accounts for many red time.

I found them soft to my liking but if you can handle it like that is fine, everyone has a different way to tune and if it works who am I to say otherwise, :) 👍.

@moudame

Thanks for that tune I'm gonna give it a shot later on and see if I can do some damage with it. 👍

Does somebody got a great 2J setup because 905 and r8 or even speed 8 dont seem to work for me, even with most reccomended setups.

Tried to do a 'wheelbarrow' tune but I couldn't get below a 25.5s.

Might be because I'm not using the active steering or it could be that the car I tried it on had the rigidity refresh.

Had another quick run and got into the 24s at last-maybe another couple of tenths in it for me with a perfect lap but I won't have much more time to spend on it.

So close from P2 to P10-good luck chaps 👍

You're right, it is soft, ideally it might pay to go back and see how much it can be stiffened and still have the tune opperate as intended. There could be time to be saved

+35 toe instead of negative might make it seem more natural. But i was trying to take a leaf out of lewis_hamiltons_ tune from the '89 japanese classic for the gts-t.

Made a 1.25.410 for 25th :) using numnuts tune, cheers.

I tried raising the rear suspension but it keeps sliding out too much.

I think I might have a tenth in sector 1, and maybe another tenth as after watching yinatos lap I think I've been shifting up too early. Especially up the hills after the first corner and middle sector.

Edit:

On a 1'25.324 now, still just over two tenths behind bs-waggis who's fastest with the directional buttons atm - must be a near perfect lap, don't think I can manage much more. Maybe some trial and error with the tune.

Long time since I posted here :-)

Anyhow, really enjoyed the GTR TT. I rarely drive on this track, so its good fun learning the best line. 1st section is nearly nailed, but the 2nd section with the double left turn before going up the hill is still a big issue for me. Losing some speed up the hill and nailing that first left out the tunnel is also tricky.

Can't get below a 1:26.4 yet, (153rd last time I checked). But not bad for a PAD direction buttons users. Can't get a wheel out here in Jordan!!

With some practice, I really hope to challenge myself to break a 1:25.5(ish) flat, but my god it's hard to nail every corner so well. A tiny mistake on the last left turn and it's all over

Good fun, and great lap Numbnuts

Thank you for sharing your tunes. They helped a lot.

mr yinato please share your setup

+1 lol-not that it would do me any good-it'll be set-up for active steering which I'm not fussed on using.

I've hit the 'proverbial' brick wall I think, can't seem to get into the 24s again-plenty of 25.0s,25.1s but I've watched Yinatos replay and he's getting on the power a millisecond before me on each corner and is able to balance the car with cadence braking more than I can with the buttons(carrying the extra 1mph through the apex),which over the lap is costing me those vital few tenths.

Oh well,I'll still keep trying but can't see me improving tbh but if I can stay in the top10 I'll be happy :)

I think it's 1 of the few TTs where I've had a competitive car from the outset.

Good luck chaps 👍

Thanks for posting your time Numbnuts 👍 with a few changes to brake balance and LSD I am sitting on a 2:26.685 in the Skyline using no ABS and clutch.

You're welcome buddy-just wish a few with good times would post their tunes sooner, rather than later :)

Dude you need to pick up the pace. I could do 2:26 around Deep Forest on a bicycle:sly:

Just found one of the Standard Skylines in my UCD so I'll be plugging in a tune from this thread to see if I can improve on the time I set in the premium model earlier.

Did the skyline event, in my 1970's SkaG.
Amazingly I only had one Skylines that I had used that was a 4wd. KPGC10 - Just the ticket, The Deep is always fun to chuck a car about on.

Now the horror that is Cape Ring... stupid jump, grumble mumble

Kicked it up a few notches with the Standard Skyline using Numbnuts' tune from post #45. I changed the BB to 7/2 to suit my driving style but otherwise I used it exactly as it's presented. After 30 minutes I improved to 1:25.792 for 75th I believe. If I get up the energy to go at it again, I'm sure I could get it down to 1:25.5 or so. Had a couple of laps at that target but got a wheel off to negate it:grumpy:

Thanks Numbnuts:tup:👍

Your dad dont have a Porsche?

I wish my dad had a Porsche :(

Anyways, I got a 1:24.896 on Deep Forest to put me in 5th for now. I've had some .7's and .6's going but they were ruined by me getting nervous on the last turn :grumpy: Maybe whenever Yinato decides to post his tune I should get some better luck here. If he doesn't then that's fine. :)

Sorry it was a 1:26.685, damn fat fingers

I'm afraid not. My dad's got a 1985 Honda.
Fantastic time there Mr Pilot. What do think of the jump?

Ah ok,
Yes the jump is difficult my max speed there is 230 kmh.
When i drive faster there i get red lap.
