It wasn't even criticism leveled towards him directly, he just took it that way, it was suppose to be a debate over how to interpret the poll results, he could have just sat back and let a few more people chime in and take sides and let a consensus build.

Well I personally think that was the whole problem, too many people throwing in ideas and then "debating" over them....

The whole thing would be simple if some one said right, these are the criteria, who wants to join?
If people have a problem with the car, track, tune level, ect then simply dont enter and stay quiet.

The whole point of it was for it to be fun, not a super serious, ego-inflating, wang swingin' challenge.

Thats the way I would do it, but notice I didnt force that opinion on to pysc, like many people have.....

I hear ya, Thing is whenever someone tries to organise one people shoot thm down in flames if there plan differs from someone else's opinion.
Such a shame because I was really looking forward to it

Yep, hence why I said someone with prior experience with this sort of thing. You cant really argue against someone who knows how these things work. 💡

True, but dont you think the whole thing just becomes over-complicted when the organiser doesnt just set the criteria then roll with it?
Thats my point, If the criteria is already set and the challenge is organised by someone who, (as you pointed out and I agree with) has experience, then it will work, if people dont like the criteria, shut up and leave.
Thats what I would like to see

I think it was nice to have a chance to pick the criteria ourselves, but yeah it does make things over-complicated.

Totally agreed there.

I have faith in Adrenaline to get this tuner challenge in motion, but worst case scenario, me or RJ will organise one. If you guys don't have objections to that. 👍

As long as you lay down the law and dont let people alter it im cool with that, just set the criteria and roll with it, dont ask for opinions.
It sounds harsh but its the only way to keep it simple IMO

But yeh Adrenaline can sort this im sure :dopey:

Am I right in thinking that the drivers will need to do 15 laps on three separate circuits for each tune making 45 laps per tune? I'm happy to drive but I might not get the time to do 450 laps in total.

For now, just continue on with what was already planned.
All tuners can begin their adjustments, and hopefully after a night of sleep psychotik will calm down and make a more rational decision. If he refused to do so, then I'll pick up where he left off, as a last resort.

February:
Subaru Impreza WRX STi (BBS Wheel Option) '10 [Max HP]
Sport Soft Tires
Minimum Weight
Tuned for Trial Mountain.

If psycho does not want to continue what other tracks are you planning on using? My vote would be for Suzuka and Rome as the other two tracks. Also are you going to ask the other tuners and drivers to join over here?

Does this apply to tuners and drivers alike?

It's all yours, friend.
I'm sure you'll do great!

I can even help with the histogram distribution, variance/std. dev. analysis, and measures of central tendency figures if you still wanted to go my route of a more quantitatively based measure of tuning performance. Just let me know :)

It was opinion, nobody was implying that he do as they demanded, merely bringing it up for community feedback.

And how do you find the moral equivalence of being on the right side of civility when you are basically telling the 60 people who voted for the NSX to STFU if they don't like the fact we're now building STi's?

Well, because more people agreed on one option than another. 31 > 30 = 30.

But you're right, it was probably wrong of me just to take the item with the most votes. No harm done now though, the poll is closed and it's not too late to change cars. All the spreadsheets need changing is the car price and some tuning parts :)

Sorry, I didn't mean to tell anyone to "STFU" :(

I meant madmike, the difference was I was saying people can have an opinion, but the event host makes a decision and then can tell everyone that he knows their opinion and STFU; madmike on the other hand rather you not voice it all which is totalitarian and not a community centric approach to a contest.

I dont think you understand what I meant....
Was trying to say I would have done the whole event different, I wouldn't have the poll and wouldn't ask for suggestions as it complicates things as we have seen.

I'm not saying I can do better, I'm just suggesting another option.....don't think I need to "find moral equivalence" for that.
Although I have no doubts you will correct me if i'm wrong

No, fine, we're in a agreement then. Can we just get this train back on the tracks?

Eh?

Its a fun event, or at least its meant to be!

Giving opinions is fine, but psyc's thread was overwhealmed with sooo many different ideas and conflicting opinions, it got to much.

I guess what im trying to say is just make a plan and stick with it.

Sorry I'm confused, but can I be a driver or not?

Adrenaline, I don't want to waste your PM inbox space so I'll just ask here.

Under psychot|K's TGB, me and RJ were set to work on one tune between us. We were fine with that. When I contacted you about joining this TCC a while back, it was said that we could do a tune each. Are you enforcing psychot|K's rule of one tune per tuning garage, or continuing your current rule of letting us do a tune each?

Wow this is quite the mess I've been thrown into after coming home from school today.. ugh.. what a disaster. I don't even know where to begin now..

To all drivers that were previously signed up through psychotik, I have no current way of knowing who you are, as he deleted his entire post in the process of the temper-tantrum. I'd hope to see every driver previously signed up, remained signed up, but please forgive the fact, that your names aren't on my initial post, because the previous documentation of who signed up, was erased by pyschotik. He mentioned an e-mail with all the contact info, but until I have it in my possession I won't be able to update the original post. This also includes tuning garages as well.

So, to clarify, all drivers previously signed up through psychotik, are absolutely welcome and I hope to see you all continue to participate.

RKM, 2 tunes is fine by me.

Other minor details will have to be worked out in due time, as we have to figure out what path is the best to continue from here.

So, all drivers sit tight, and I'll do my best to get the info needed to get you all updated and on the same page.
All tuners, focus on your tunes for this week, for simplicity sake, we're going to continue with the STi max HP plan, and we'll go from there. Before the end of this week, and before the tunes are all submitted, I'll do my best to get everything cleared up. Bear with me, as this was dumped on me, and I'm currently out of town doing interviews all week.

So no changes now, everybody is crystal ok, we can start with that ?

To begin with, I can't find the car :)
