Tuner Wars by Harvey Wallbanger (First 2 battles joined 12/6/11)

i need someone to test my tunes :P , yes yes a driver who thinks he can fiddle around with some wrenches and think the car is tuned but still...

if someone has the time to take one of my cars around triel mountain orso ( all short gearboxes ) and give me some feedback so i know i am heading the right way or not would be appreciated :P

( that means you Onboy , and whoever wants to :P )

Hey, DaDog! I borrowed the key to your Bumblebee GT40 and headed straight away to Trial Mountain. :) I didn't realize there would be a race going on between A bunch of Lemans prototypes and group C racecars! :nervous: Oops! My only advantage was the great racing soft tires vs the more mainstream racing medium tire everyone else was using. Now for the picture excerpts of how you gt40 fared.

And just like that the race was over. The best lap I achieved was on lap 4 with a time of 1:25.782 while trying my hardest to hold off a Sauber, a 2J, and the laughter caused by driving a GT40 against race cars. :dopey:

A 550pp GT40 that can attempt to best group Cs is awesome.
Well done, DaDog! its a great tune for the track. 👍

Krenkme, when you've got time, the Commodore is on share, try it out and see if it fits. It probably won't, but just in case it does.

thank you for the test , just trying something out with cars that are around the 550pp area stock and fiddling around a bit . had 2 cars reviewed so far and apperantly they ain't as bad as i expected :D

with this one i was aiming for for 1.25.laps so i hit that spot on , but there is still room for improvement .
but i am glad you liked it so far 👍

Just tried it. I think it's as good as it's going to get. I lust wish we could get rid of that understeer

Yea…it's a pig…though you know why the tune didn't work? Because my tune was for a Commodore with a 60/40 weight distribution, but the car had a 55/45 or something, which screwed up some of the suspension things. At least, I think it was…

I think I just needed to take a step away from the tune, before I drove it 180mph into a wall !!!! I will come back to it at a later date to see if I can do something with it, but for now I'm done with it. I just hope it works for frosty :nervous::nervous:

We can only hope, but the online physics should make it a bit…less snappy. I hope frosty's awake when he drives it, you really need to be.

Hey guys,
I see that the car seems to be finished 👍. Where you going to post it so I can get used to it? I can't wait! Thanks again.

Ok, frosty, I'm assuming you've read the previous posts on the last page as well.If you haven't, here's a brief recap for you:

One thing, tyre wear on or off? If it's on, I'm telling you right now that you'll be making more than the one pit stop. There's no way of hiding it, so here goes. The Commodore is a <insert variety of swear words here>. Lap times are down to 1:27.xxx, but after that, you'll be running in the 1:30s for 3 more laps, and you will need to pit on lap 3-4 or you'll cause the biggest crash in the history of the game. And bear in mind that in the laps that you run 1:30.xxx, you'll only get marginally slower, as the tyres will just trim themselves off even in a straight line.

Basically, all I'm saying is this. Try to get your friends to run the race without tyre wear, it will break your race if it's on. The Commodore requires you to drive it gently to start out with. Start pushing only when the tyres are light blue/white. It's a pig, so don't expect Ford Falcon XR8 handling.
Sorry for the double post, but quick update on the Commodore.

I've got it down to 1:25.2xx offline and 1:25.4xx online. It's now slightly snappier offline as a result of some of my adjustments, but it feels less understeery than before. Not as much online, but it's still a brute though. :P

Mind you…all of the above was based on a 1 hour long test session online. I could have just adapted to the brutish handling and be talking a load of bull, but hey.

So, to simplify all that (yes, I made you read through all that just to look pro :P), the car is fairly quick, but ask it to turn on a dime, and it'll break its hip. It just doesn't do agility. The settings will be posted…soon. Definitely sometime today.

And once more, get your friends to run the races with tyre wear off, it'll save you a lot of hassle, as the tyre wear was properly messed up recently.

Oh…and if you find the Commodore too tough, I'll get either Krenkme or Desperado to give you a copy of the Monaro tune. If they can.

The times sound great, and we were going to run with tire wear on, but that was before the last update that ruined the tires. We may run with it off now. Not sure.

Sould like it will be a hard, but rewarding car to drive. Looking forword to it 👍

Tuner Collaboration Tunes
Holden Commodore STC
Welcome to the first collaboration tune between Clueless tunes and Outlaw Motorsports. Welcome to our Frankenstein.

This is the racing version of the Holden Commodore GTO 500. The STC. STC has nothing to do with GT's naming of its fictitious race cars, nothing to do with the Super Touring Car. It stands for something more like Scary, Terrifying Creature. Which is what it is. And it's not read as STC either, it's Esse-Ta-See. Ecstasy. That's the look you'd have on your face when you make it around a corner in this at the limit.

Notes: All explained. Brutal to drive. Would pack even more power if this car hasn't been taken pass 12k miles during testing. Good luck, and be thankful GT doesn't make you pay for the tyres.

Special Thanks to DaDog, Tris_73 and to all who have volunteered to testing this and bringing it to life, and to Krenkme who has made this car possible in the first place. 👍

Ok. First just let me say WOW this thing is insane!!!!! But in a good way. Pushes a lot in corners, but with some practice and better driving, it worked great. Tires burn up fast so I hope we run with them off, but the grip is there when there when needed. Just one question, when we run our final at London, what parts should I take off to make it fair?:lol:

 don't take anything off, just keep it in 4th or 5th the whole way round.

tune looks good Onboy 👍 I hope it works for you Frosty. I'll see if I can get my daughter to send you a Manaro (Onboy)... It might have a start to a Clueless tune on it though :scared::nervous::dopey:

Edit - Car was sent (so she said)

When clouds of iron gather nigh, blackening the winter sky,
Storms gather fury from the lake, best hurry home and refuge take,
For soon the worst will come to pass, and ice will turn your routes to glass,
While in the north the beast awakens, from his year long slumber taken,
His howl the fury of the gales, with deadly curves that rarely fail,
To send your autos into flight, through blizzard's curtain blinding white,
See driving skills you lack with the, FLIGHT OF THE SKAJAQUADA

Car has awakend, and is now on share. Tune to come soon to Clueless.

with 60,643 miles and a little more heavy then "Storm Goat" (also 16hp less). The Skajaquada is not scared and only came out to calm the storm :D

:dopey:

Been working on a very wicked fish and because of it I'll probably be pulling the "Storm Goat 727" off share to rework the transmission...think I can get another 15-20mph out of its top end with a better transmission.

My "Hellfish" is currently hitting close to 220mph at Daytona with no draft and I'm starting to lap the field in Stars and Stripes.:bowdown::gtpflag::D

Note: I'm having to learn how to drive a manual transmission with the "Hellfish" as it won't shift into 5th otherwise.:odd::embarrassed:

Must be a 'Cuda :D. Very tricky tranny. I've spent a lot of time trying to get it to work with an auto, but I don't think that's possible :dopey:

Right in one.:D The GTO has a similar power curve though not quite as extreme so if I get the "Hellfish's" tranny where I want it I'll be trying the same thing on the Goat's.

Hit 220mph no draft at Daytona and I lap the last 2 cars and I'm riding the draft of the third from last in Stars and Stripes.:D Currently running high 0:41.xxx's and think 0:40.xxx laps are possible.👍👍

Okay krenkme has his Pontiac GTO tune up now and both his and my cars are on share currently. So can we get any of our fearless test driver types to run them through their paces? Would suggest testing them on the Stars and Stripes seasonal races as that will allow testers to put some credits in the bank while risking their lives.:D

Also noticed an interesting anomaly while tuning both the "Storm Goat 727" and my "Hellfish". It seems that at this weight and combination of HP/torque that adding ballast actually raises the PP instead of lowering it.:odd: The "Storm Goat 727" actually gained two more PP with 105kg of ballast.

Well... I can test (sometime in the week), but The Skajaquada is going to calm that Storm, so... no testing needed :dopey:

Now that I've finally got the "Hellfish's" transmission figured out and the tune posted I can look into redoing the "Storm Goat 727's" transmission using some of the tricks I figured out with the "Hellfish".

Should be good for another 10 - 15mph top speed at Daytona:D

I may have to take another look at the Skajaquada, but he is an old grumpy 🤬 so I don't know if he'll let me. :dopey: but he's always ready for a battle. 👍

So krenkme got to select the car for Turismo.M.G!'s 2nd Car of the Week deal over in the Q&A forum. His choice was the classic Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto '66.

Of course I immediately challenged the ole parrot head to Dueling Duetto's.

Since CSLACR is running a Nordschleife shootout and the second round will be at 420PP we settled on that as the track and PP of choice. Our only concession to the health and safety of potential test drivers being the cars getting an upgrade to Sports Soft tires instead of the shootouts Comfort Softs.

Now the winner of this little battle will get their tune immortalized over in the Nordschleife Lap Times thread as the fastest tuned Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto '66.:gtpflag:

So be on the lookout for my "Lucrezia"
Bartolomeo_Veneto_001.jpg

Her charming looks and stunning personality may blind you to her dangerous ways, so you risk losing not just your heart but your life as well.:scared::crazy:

I have a Duetto on Sport softs already. :D Only it's got 441PP so some changes to the gearbox might be in order when I pull parts off. Still, looking forward to this one. :D

Hoping we can talk mike_gt3 and/or praiano into testing them for us.:D
