Tuner Wars by Harvey Wallbanger (First 2 battles joined 12/6/11)

Ok, double post not intended, but I would like to add an event to the list after we've finished the Truck 550 and MR kei car shootout. And it's this. Take one 434~hp Honda Prelude and make it run around a track (TBA) in the fastest time as well as get it to drive the best on either SS or RS tyres.

I think White Lightnin' is ready for battle. I can't seem to find anymore speed in the setup so its as fast as its going to be with me tuning it. Now I'll wait for the competition to get their steeds ready and try not to get owned.

Not sure if the video is working in the image :boggled:

I starting tuning the Ford F-150 last night to this 550PP challenge and just gave up. I really wasn't having any fun driving it. How can a truck with almost no weight in the back, push so much on every corner? Still got some playing to do... maybe... if I get motivated enough to spend time driving a vehicle I don't really enjoy.

Just about got the upgraded Spooky as good as I can get it on that track. Really don't care for deep forest.:yuck:

Simply amazing how often a nearly 1800kg vehicle can lose contact with the ground there!:crazy::lol:

I can only say i have tested 2 trucks and well i am impressed , one was so insanely fast that you didn't thinik a pick-up could be this fast .

Ok handling is never gonna be like a sportscar and if you wanna go take this out you need to stick to youre line ( wich due to the size is the entire track :P ) but it was fun

Ahh, I see you've experienced the pitfalls of tuning the F-150 first hand. Only so much you can do to better the understeer at least thats the way I'm approaching it. Keep plugging away at it and maybe you will find the best F-150 setup. The Lightning is only going to be competitive when compared to another F-150 and maybe the other pickups though.

So there I was, having a... soda-pop :dopey: at Harvey Wallbangers Cafe when I overherd a conversation about a truck. It seems the customer, DaDog, wanted a truck that could be run at Deep Forest on racing soft tires and a 550pp level, so I lean over and said
"I got a truck for ya'" I said with a smile.
"Really? What is it?" DaDog said.
"It's a Dodge"
"Yuck!" says Dadog, "Dodges are ugly, slow, and gross"...
...
...Okay, I may have mis-quoted DaDog there, but it was clear that he preferred a...Ford :yuck:... over anything else.
So I went back to Clueless hurt. Walked to the back of the shop and took the tarp off the "Lamb". Not one to leave insults of a Dodge alone, I took the truck down to Deep Forest to do some fine tuning.

Really, nothing to change, but the transmission, so I reworked it for Deep Forest.
And now I wait... right here...at Deep Forest to see what everyones got. :dopey:

Oh, I almost forgot. The "Lamb" brought along his little cousin to run with the big boys if you want to try it :dopey:

Ok, I think my Stormtrooper is pretty much done. But I'm not even remotely happy with how it drives. The arse lashes out when you slip onto the grass, it spends more time in the air than on the ground and I loath it.

Cool Thread Harvey! 👍

Thought I would give my Midget II a run around Deep Forest both on and offline. No where near the performance possible with the other trucks but it was fun to try.:dopey: Used my Midget II Laguna Seca Edition with longer gearing of 133mph found over here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5146231#post5146231 if anyone want to give it a go.

435P.P.
RS Tires
Online Lap 1:28.914
Offline Lap 1:28.238
Top speed @ Deep Forest 114mph

Its really the Hugger Orange that made it so fast :sly:

👍 *double post* 👍
A run in your "truck" will start in a few hours Onboy.

Any drivers going to test these trucks for our battle?... or are you scared :dopey:

Opps! 💡 I forgot to fine tune the transmission for Deep Forest! I also had the GT shop team perform a well over due engine rebuild bringing the Midget to 114hp and 439P.P.

Here are my changes if anyone cares about the Midget II @ Deep Forest
Reset Gearing
Final 4.630
1st 1.192
2nd 1.566
3rd 1.192
4th 0.970
5th 0.824
Top Speed 128mph

The top speed to increased to 115mph and my offline lap time drop down to 1:27.130!

Even gave Deep Forest Polyphony Digital Cup a go against 500P.P. cars and took 2nd.

Thanks for getting me motivated to work on the Midget again! Good luck on those 550P.P. trucks! Hope they turn out great! 👍

You in as a tester again 👍 :)

Fun truck, glad it motivated you...
...You open for a midget battle> :D :dopey:

Maybe. Have to get through an online enduro this evening (Ferrari California on SH 50 laps of Spa :ouch:), and then I'll see where I'm at.

Oh and BTW. Your Panda did NOT look like that when I was finished with it. :irked:

It was much worse. :dopey:

Kung Fu panda did that, you just took the credit as you were the one who sabotaged it.

I'll give my stormtrooper a final tweak after Krenkme gave me some idea of what needs correcting.

Guys just want to let you know I may not get much tuning done the next couple of days due to a family emergency.

Sorry in advance if I can't post my truck in time.:(
