I improve rigidity on all rollcaged/spot welded cars that would have it IRL, I know it produces understeer but I can't help it. Is that ok?
This I will leave this choice to each individual driver. I believe the car should have this sort of modification programmed into it already as it would in real life.

No oil change, power limited to 95.7% gives me 472bhp is that correct?
The room limits will be set to 495BHP and 475PP. Which was the values given, with an oil change, when the power limiter was set to 95.3%. Unless Kaz and his team have played around with these settings since I set them.

Do you like my avatar? Some cool dude did it for me.
I wonder who that was? :sly::D

Usual color scheme for me no 36
Looks like I have a busy evening in front of me:tup:👍👍

OP updated.
  • Drivers added.
  • Points table added.
  • Revision to lobby type in which races will be held. To allow versatility at races.
  • Club lobby TT added to allow free practice at any time.
  • Race 1 weather forecast added.

Just been reading through, oooh I like the sound of the super lap, something a bit different!

I've probably missed it, but what tyres will we be running?

Racing Hard, Inters and Wets, depending on weather conditions.

There won't be a minimum distance requirement this series.

I've just spent a little time on the club TT and managed to achieve a 1:26.546, in dry conditions, using a moderately modified deep forest tune.

I feel in the hands of the more capable members here here, the car is capable of 1:24's maybe even 1:23's.

This short narrow circuit plus over 42 laps looks to provide a very entertaining race.

It is my hope to run some group practice sessions (races not time trials) in the evenings of the week proceeding the first race on June 21st.

Apologies for the short notice. I hope to have a room open for a practice, for the first race this coming Sunday.

I hope to have it open in around half an hour.

so to be clear you will need to use both the hards and meds in a race but no min laps on either correct? you could run one lap on either and then change onto the other with no penalty?

As Theewar has said only the RH tyres are being used. If the weather turns, which can happen in 5 of the 8
races. You have the option to use the intermediate or wet tyres. There isn't a minimum distance requirement, but with fuel and tyre consumption on fast you may need to pit more than once even in fair conditions.

I'm sorry to say that a particularly difficult week at work coupled with a spell of nice weather scuppered my commitment to the aforementioned. However. I will make a guarantee that tonight, from 20:30 onwards, a practice room will be open. This will be a friends only normal room (not in R/500 Arena), to allow some versatility with the lobby settings.

I have seen that some of the registered drivers have been making good use of the TT room and they have been posting some impressive numbers. A 1:23.330 being the best "recorded" time.

I have also witnessed a 1:22 achieved in free run.

Tonight's times will be logged and form a basis for the release order for the "Super Lap Qualifying" If people want, we can run a test. If they feel they need a better understanding / feel for the concept.

I hope to see many of you on track over the weekend.

On a final note. I hope to give some information about prizes in the coming weeks.

A good solid practice last night, with a peak of 6 drivers on track.

A point of caution worth mentioning with the car and track combination. Slipstream in this car can lead to speeds being up to 15mp/h (25km/h) faster at sections of this track most notably the final chicane. with this difference in closing speeds caution is to be advised.

Now onto some lap times.

GTP_Cpt_D ......... 1:21.377 invalid lap time (Naughty Captain )

Now some valid lap times

Sholsey1899 ....... 1:23.316
SoKaGT-Racing .... 1:23.328
weescotman ....... 1:23.433
GTP_Cpt_D ......... 1:23.644
GC255 ................ 1:24.790
megg230 ............ 1:25.719
Cobani ............... 1:25.721
theewar ............. 1:26.418

Sholsey takes the purple time from the first timed practice. Busted shoulder and all :scared:

There will be another practice room open tonight from 20:30. I've no doubt that these times will be improved and the order will need some revision.

The final practice to today's race yielded a couple of improvements. Some modest and others jumping up the table by quite a margin.

Nürburgring GP/D practice times

Sholsey1899 ......... 1:23.316
SoKaGT-Racing ...... 1:23.328
Cobani .................. 1:23.361
weescotman ......... 1:23.433
GTP_Cpt_D ............ 1:23.644
theewar ................ 1:23.757
Goodwolf_ ............. No dry time
Jammyrex ............. No time posted
GC255 ................... 1:24.774
megg230 ............... 1:25.719
Socalspeedfreak .... 1:26.033

This list now forms the release order of drivers. I have used some discretion to determine when some drivers should be released to track.

The premise being that slower drivers are released after faster drivers, so no one can use slipstream and the risk of catching up with the driver in front should be negated.

You will start in the pit lane. Please remain stationary until called (verbally if my mic is working). expect around 20 seconds between release points.

There will be a delay once drivers begin their hot laps.

I may need to go on track to type drivers names. If this is the case I will park up on the outside of Mercedes arena to do so. This is also where I request drivers park up after their hot lap.

Here are the Infographics for tonight's event. (They are large images. Download them if you are having difficulty reading them)

Hi guys, unfortunately I'm not going to make it back in time for the race start tonight :-( gutting!

I'm currently sat on a coach back from London as I've been at a concert this weekend. I thought I would be back in time, but it turns out we had booked a later bus than I realised. Have a great race.

Sorry to hear that. I hope Blur was good.

The room for our first race is open. See you there 👍

First race done and one bad mistake where I lost 10 seconds. Too bad because I would have had a great battle with Sholesy in 6th. No action for me this evening so can't wait for the second race.

Congrats to theewar, Soka and Cpt_D.

Congratulations go to theewar, SokaGT-Racing and GTP_Cpt_D. It looks like the champion from Type R Cup 1 is marking his territory right off the bat.

Here is the results table after the first race.

Ballast will need to be applied for the next outing at Fuji. It's a simple Points x2 equation. I intend to update driver cards to reflect the weight being carried and it is this weight you will be required to show at scrutineering.

I leave you with the lap count and weather forecast for the race in two weeks time.

A Time trial room will be opened tomorrow in R/500 Arena to give drivers somewhere to compare and post their own times.

It came up in conversation over the weekend just gone. About what colours people were considering for their HSV. Sholsey mentioned he was going to use the presentation model colours.

It just so happens that I have a model of that very same car and the Weider 2011 Sepang winner.

Which leads me somewhat neatly onto one of the prizes I have for the winner of this series.
A 2012 Raybrig Okayama test version model.

This will be added into the first post in due course along with some more prizes for 2nd and 3rd place in the championship.

Finally. My work schedule won't allow me to host a practice session this Friday evening. So if someone else is willing to host, please let me know. Alternatively a session will be opened Saturday evening around 22:00 after 500pp club has finished. Then again on Sunday from around 20:30.

Jesus Gary! Are these Ebbro 1:43s!

I might be slightly more elbows out from now chaps!
Damn straight!

Warren won a 1:43 Civic Type R in premium Violet Pearl, for first place in Last year's Type R Cup. Of which I purchased one for myself as a memento.

I also own the Raybrig and Epson 2005 NSX's.
Two corgi lotus Evora GT4's in the "gold leaf" and "JPS" colours and the GT5 signature edition AMG SLS.
