Now the dust has settled, I can honestly say I enjoyed yesterday's racing. I must admit I got a little anxious when only one other driver had arrived by the intended time for the first vote. I'm glad I held off for that extra 5 minutes.

Apologies for that. Thanks for waiting. Fell asleep in the armchair and didnt wake till 7.50. (I'm getting old). Bit of a panic turning ps on etc.
Very enjoyable and thank you.You put a lot of work into this.

I would like to host another event using the
Civic Type R '08 before the end of this year. Before I begin the run up to season 2 next year, which is already under construction.

I give you who have already attended the series and/or special event,

A date, Saturday 13th December

And a choice. Either

Another 6 race sprint series,

Or

A 90 minute race at Fuji (maybe Suzuka depending on when it's update might be released)

I am open to other track suggestions.

Let me know what you think.

You all wanted it, so the OP is updated to reflect this.

we will try to keep to the same timetable as before. Just be aware the event may run over by up to half an hour.

Now accepting sign ups (A little time has passed since you swayed me towards the sprints. So I'm not taking it as a given you will be able to attend)

@weescotman & @Cobani If you are taking part, try to keep the silly tracks to a minimum. I know what you can be like :P

I think you'll find my last choice was actually a great track that was fun to drive, feel I'm being victimised here and my not take part out of protest,

We are now up to 7 drivers with the addition of theewar to the line up. With a couple of days remaining before the event, will we have any more throw their hat into the ring?

Certainly. Good to have you on board again 👍

Thanks. I'm no spring chicken. Have to stick to the shorter races and slowish cars. This is good because you can have a little break between races (even if it is only for a few mins).
Is it ok to have a number on the car (99)?

Even if it is a FF :sly: Numbers are fine 👍

Two hours before the first race.
I hope to have the room up and running at 19:30 GMT. Providing I don't get held up on my way home from work.

See you on track 👍

Thanks for the nice evening Gary, sorry about the wet race but the strange lighting plays havoc (the ring is the same for me) with my eyes since I developed focal epilepsy. I give them a try but I don't last more than a couple of laps.

Enjoyed your event a very good mix.

It's the morning after the night before.
I can say without shadow of doubt, I enjoyed driving alongside so many talented individuals.

My break down of the night goes as follows:
  • Deep Forest Raceway
I expected it to be much easier than it was. Missing my braking points on so many occasions and suspension being a little too stiff in the front meant that traction was a problem for me. Not to mention my laptop going blue screen midway through the race. Meaning my attention was on rebooting whilst on the straight. Sorry if I caused anyone problems there.
  • Ascari (Dry)
I hardly know this track. For me it's on a par with Nordschleife, which I'm just beginning to learn. A largely un-eventful race for me.
  • Red Bull Ring Short (80% Rain 50% Saturation)
My first "Oh god I thought I was on the normal track" moment of the evening. Not helped by the weather and spray affecting visibility  I had my best race of the night here. I'm not sure if it was because of the rain, but I'm noticing a trend that I generally do perform better in the wet.
  • Circuito Design Sierra (Dry)
Another track I barely know. I can see it's charm but I was most definitely out classed by most drivers here. That, and some drivers being on Wet compounds from the last race will definitely mean a look at that replay. Thank god that someone convinced me weather here was a bad idea.
  • Nordschleife (10% weather 0% Saturation)
It stayed dry (phew) As I've already mentioned I don't know this track nearly as well as some. But 20 second a lap down on the leader is pretty good for me. Very pleased with my race and a note to Raw6500, you didn't need to wait but I appreciate you doing so. It made the race much more enjoyable having someone to race with.
  • Silverstone International (30% weather 0% Saturation)
My second "Oh my god, I thought I was on the normal track moment" I think the only person to escape my error was megg230. I didn't bleed too much time here, even as tiredness crept into my being. I feel it only fair to Disqualify myself from points for this race. It wasn't fair to theewar, and i had previously exhibited the same behavior.

A mechanical failure during the evening ruined the event for Ade3210. Many 👍 to you for trying to weather your mishap and still join in the races using the buttons for your brake.

Once again, sorry for running over. Sierra & Nordschleife made this almost inevitable. I will look at timings if I run future events like this one.

Thank you to all who attended and i hope to race with you again in the future.

And with that here is your results table.

One of my eyes is messed up from an accident years ago and i find the same things affect me. Any track with shadows, spa, nurb ring (depends on the time) or if its anyway dark is very hard on the eye. HD tv is a godsend.

OP updated. Here is an abridgment of the new data.

As promised, here is your announcement regarding Series 2 of Type R cup.

TRC2Teaser_zpsf0f97831.png

Season 2 will be using the Honda HSV-010 '12 and running a Super GT style series of 8 races.

The car build will remain fixed throughout each of the races. No extra power addition or weight reduction is intended at this point in time.

This series will use a success ballast handicap system, linked to the points scored in each round.

More details to be finalized and announced at a later date.

Before the main event, I invite you to consider joining me for pre-season testing.

Use the usual procedure if you wish to join the Pre-season test.

@GTP_ADE @Cpt. Disaster & @Goodwolf I have left you as stewards for the series as I trust you judgement and input. If you are no longer willing or able to perform this role, let me know and I'll update the list.
